Chapter 1340: It Is Our Fate
...Enel stood slowly from his seat, his shadow stretching behind him, his anger clear as day at her words.
His jaw was clenched. His voice low—but strong.
"What do you mean by THAT, Love?"
Love, still graceful in her movements, turned away briefly. Her long, starlight-silver gown shimmered like fluid crystal with each step.
"I mean," she said calmly, "you can either wait… wait for at least another two centuries, wandering, studying the riddle in front of Heaven's gate. Fighting—hoping for a path to open… or—"
She turned back to face him. Her expression was now serious, eyes heavy with knowledge and the pain of inevitability.
"Or, Allison goes in your place… to Heaven."
A sharp silence fell.
Allison slowly turned to Enel. Her black hair rippling in the quiet, her eyes were wide but unreadable.
Enel didn't speak, but the tightness in his fist said more than a thousand curses.
Love continued, gently, but firmly.
"The Morningstar you know… Lucifer… is only one side of the coin. His twin, Michael Morningstar, exists within Heaven. And though he's locked away— sleeping behind Heaven's veils after his previous battle with his brother, he is the only one with the authority and strength to prepare the host for what's coming."
She paused, then added, "But… flesh may not enter Heaven. Not unless it is woven with divinity."
Enel turned sharply to her. "So what does that mean?"
Allison's voice was quiet, but sure. "It means… I won't come back."
Their eyes met. Time seemed to still.
He moved closer to her. "Allison, no—"
Love raised a hand gently.
"There is no other way. When Heaven's Gate opens once more to receive a mortal soul imbued with divine purpose—that will be the moment Hell stirs in response. That is the law of Balance. And it is as old as my brother and I."
Enel's breath hitched. He staggered back half a step, whispering to himself. "That… that can't be."
Enel thought himself to be very very smart. But even he had never thought of this. To think that the only way would be for Allison to die.
And only moments ago, when Death's essence left her, on coming to this time, he had been happy. He believed that without it, Death's avatar who was Allison would not die.
Then again, Death had long warned him, that a terrible fate awaited any that he was going to call his woman.
His hand clenched harder. He did not want to think about that now. Instead, he asked something else.
"The Core of Hell…" he muttered. "That level of power…"
Love nodded. "Yes. Bonding with the Core of any primary plane gives immense power. But the Core of Hell? Or Heaven? That would give you enough to rewrite the rules of conflict itself."
She turned, waving her fingers. An ethereal sphere appeared in the air. Within it, visions flickered—scenes of Purgatory, the Earths, the underworld Heaven and Hell.
"You've already bonded with one Earth. That's why you can be king, and even manipulate cosmic energy the way you do, which is on another scale from others. But this… this is different. Heaven and Hell are primordial roots. The First Realms. Their Cores are not just sources of power… they are the blueprints of existence."
She turned back to him.
"The moment Heaven accepts Allison, its gates will open. And in equal measure… Hell will respond. Its Core will rise to the surface. The Core had hidden itself in self preservation when Lucifer was thrown out, and the gates shut. Trust me, your coming back ti this Time, is no mere coincidence."
Enel's face darkened. "This is madness. You're telling me to send her to death—just to get power?!"
Love's voice became softer. Almost… kind.
"No. I'm telling you that this… is destiny. And like all destiny, it does not wait for permission."
Enel turned to Allison again. She met his gaze with a calm strength, but he could see it—the glimmer of fear hidden behind her courage.
Still… she smiled. A sad, quiet thing.
"We knew, didn't we?" she said softly. "From the moment we became mates. No one loves Lenny Tales without harm on their way..." She wiped the tears that were starting to firm at the corner to her eyes.
"You know, back home, I discovered Lana, your half sister, was in love with you. I remember telling her that loving you meant forfeiting life. Back then, I thought I still had time. You know, at least twenty ... No, even ONE more year would be enough. Maybe even have a few kids with you.... and... and..."
The tears fell. He pulled her closer, but did not stop the tears or her words, "...and love you a bit more. Who could have thought that I'll only become another bumb in your story."
Enel opened his mouth—but no words came.
Love stepped forward, placing a hand on both of their shoulders.
"This path leads to agony. But it also leads to salvation. Not just for you… but for everything that lives."
Her hand lingered a second longer on Enel.
"And Enel… the choice will always be yours. Power, yes. But also purpose."
Silence. Then:
"So… what will you do?"
Suddenly—
A deafening boom tore through the tranquil air.
The house shuddered.
Pride's head snapped toward the window, his sharp eyes narrowing. Outside, smoke curled into the sky like a bleeding wound in the serenity of the Rainbow Bridge.
Another explosion followed—closer this time. The air quivered with divine pressure.
Without a word, Pride moved to the window, his jaw tightening.
"They've come," he said.
Enel stepped up beside him, already sensing the weight of the energies converging beyond the horizon.
There—cutting through the sky like venomous arrows—descended Uriel and nine others. Fallen angels.
Each one carried ancient weapons, and their presence disrupted the peaceful harmony of the village like oil in holy water.
Pride turned sharply to Love.
"The fallen have come. I'll hold them back."
He gave no room for protest.
"You three—leave. Through the back."
And with that, the Entity of Pride rushed for the door, a massive broadsword materializing in his hands. The sword pulsed with multicolored energy—each hue a different form of confidence, certainty, and power.
"If they want the bridge, they'll have to climb over my pride first."
The door slammed behind him like a war drum.
Enel stepped forward, ready to follow—but a soft hand on his chest stopped him.
It was Love.
She looked up at him, her eyes glowing faintly with understanding.
"No, Enel," she said quietly. "You mustn't. Not yet."
He blinked at her, torn. "You think I'll just sit here while he—"
"You must," she said, firmer now. "Trust him. Trust your allies. It is not your battle yet. Besides, it is not my brother's fate for him to fall here...its not like he is facing the Morningstar just yet."
Her eyes held something deeper than wisdom—certainty. A certainty born not from intuition, but from experience… from sight.
Enel stared. His throat tightened. "…You know."
It wasn't a question.
Love nodded solemnly. "Of course I know."
Her hand dropped from his chest as she stepped back. "Like I told you… I've seen the future. I've walked through every potential of the cosmos."
Enel swallowed. "Then… why didn't you say anything?"
She smiled—tenderly, but also with weight. "Because if I did… Pride would act differently. So would Allison. So would you."
She moved closer again, her voice almost a whisper now. "And if even one variable changes… everything falls apart."
Her gaze deepened.
"Lenny Tales… this is our fate. Yours especially. The moment Solomon ensured you stepped into the Mirror of Time, the gears began to turn."
"Solomon did what?"
She chuckled a bit, "what!? You thought that you some how out smarted the wisest man alive?"
For some very weird reason, that actually made sense in his head. He had thought I it before, but too much had been happening and he shelved it.
"Do not try to carry every battle on your back. The final war is coming. And if we are to survive… everything must move as it was meant to."
Outside, thunder cracked. The battle had begun.
Enel didn't move for a long time. Then, finally, with a clenched fist and clenched teeth, he nodded. "Then lead the way..."
