Devourer: Echoes of the unwritten

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: “Origin vs. Systembreaker – The End of Chains”

[Scene: Northern Deadlands – The Rift Zone]

The ground was no longer ground. It twisted like liquid.

The sky wept black snow.

And from the rift, the first Devourer rose.

ORIGIN-000.

Thirty feet tall. Wings like broken servers. A crown of shifting language.

Its body glitched in and out of reality, unfinished code rippling across its skin.

And its voice—a chorus of ancient systems, all speaking in unison:

"You… are a parasite."

"You consume what you do not understand."

Kaito stood on the edge of a shattered cliff, claws drawn, tail coiled.

He looked up—unchallenged.

"And you're obsolete."

"Let's rewrite history."

[Scene: System Response – Overload Detected]

[ALERT: SYSTEM AUTHORITY BEYOND THRESHOLD]

[YOU ARE FACING: TRUE ROOT ENTITY]

Combat Begins: Devourer Prime vs Origin Protocol

[Scene: Battle Begins – Reality Collides]

BOOM!!

Origin moved first—its hand slicing through the air, warping time itself.

Kaito disappeared.

[Abyss Shift – Activated]

He reappeared midair, claws laced with void.

SLASH!

He struck Origin's face—no effect.

The impact shattered three mountain peaks behind them instead.

Origin's eyes burned red.

"Your system is young."

"Let me show you what a god-killer really looks like."

[Scene: Phase Two – World Begins to Unravel]

Origin raised both arms.

[Command: Devourer Reboot Pulse]

Every Devourer on the planet—Council or rogue—screamed. Their bodies twitched.

Even Kaito felt it.

[WARNING: DEVOURER SIGNAL CORRUPTION – 7% INFILTRATION]

[Begin counter-protocol: Systembreaker Override]

Kaito slammed his hand into the ground, roaring:

"STAY OUT OF MY HEAD!!"

The ground fractured.

Rifts opened across the battlefield.

He activated his newest ability.

[Overbreak Pulse – CLASS SS+]

– Temporarily nullifies all Divine Traits in a 500m radius

A ring of violet light exploded outward.

Origin staggered.

"How—?"

"You're not supposed to reach me."

Kaito stepped through the smoke, half-covered in living glyphs, breathing hard.

"I'm not supposed to exist."

"That's what makes me dangerous."

[Scene: Final Phase – Devourer Domain Unleashed]

Kaito's screen flashed.

[ACCESSING – TRUE DOMAIN: SYSTEMBREAKER'S THRONE]

Suddenly, the battlefield transformed.

No more mountains. No more sky.

Just black circuitry.

A glowing throne floated above a grid of shifting platforms. Kaito stood at its center.

This wasn't Earth.

This was his domain.

"You brought the war here, Origin."

"Now I make the rules."

Kaito raised his hand.

"Command: Authority Lockdown."

Chains of void erupted from the ground, wrapping around Origin's legs.

It howled.

Kaito blurred, leapt, and drove his claw straight into the Origin's core.

[Systembreaker Pulse – ENGAGED]

BOOM.

The sound wasn't physical—it was code shattering.

Origin fell back, eyes flickering.

"No… this cannot be…"

"I was the first…"

"I AM—"

"Broken," Kaito whispered.

And then—

SILENCE.

Origin's form shattered into black dust.

The Rift closed.

[Scene: Aftermath – Kaito's Status Screen]

[KAITO RYU – TRUE DEVOURER]

[Scene: The Council Watches in Silence]

Hollow Queen: "…He won."

Ashcore: "He didn't just win. He absorbed the origin."

Nullchild: "Then he's no longer one of us."

"He's above us."

[Scene: Cutaway – Deep Outer Space – Unknown Eyes Open]

In a realm far beyond stars, something ancient turned its gaze.

"A Systembreaker has reached Domain Access…"

"Begin Phase Zero."

[Final Scene: Kaito Stares at the Sky]

Reina arrived too late. She landed on a ruined cliffside, eyes wide.

Kaito hovered in silence.

Behind him, the sky was bending.

Not cracking—obeying.

She called out:

"Kaito… what are you now?"

He didn't look back.

"Free."
