Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

The giant {human-headed spider demon} hanging from the house on spider silk showed Zenitsu a grotesque smile, sending a chill down his spine. He gritted his teeth.

"What are you laughing at?! I have nothing to say to someone like you!" Zenitsu yelled, his fear manifesting in a bizarre outburst.

He turned and ran.

The {human-headed spider demon}, not bothering to pursue, chuckled, "Running won't help. You've already lost."

Incredibly, while running, Zenitsu retorted, "What are you talking about?! Don't talk to me! I hate creatures like you!"

"You've noticed, haven't you? You've already been poisoned," the {demon} said.

Zenitsu stopped, turning back, "What are you saying?! Poisoned?"

"Look at your hand," the {demon} gleefully suggested.

"Hand? What's wrong with my hand?" Zenitsu looked at his hand.

His expression changed. His veins were bulging unnaturally, purple poison spreading across his palm.

The spider bite he'd received earlier had formed a lump, looking disgusting and frightening.

"What's happening?" Zenitsu asked.

"You were bitten by a spider! It's my poison. It'll turn you into a human-headed spider, just like those hanging there!"

"In thirty minutes, you'll become my slave, crawling on the ground like a spider!"

The {human-headed spider demon} laughed mockingly.

Zenitsu remembered the human-headed spiders he'd seen. That was what happened after being poisoned! It was horrifying!

He didn't want to become such a creature. "I won't become like that!"

The {human-headed spider demon} laughed harder, using a leg to retrieve a pocket watch hanging from its neck, showing it to Zenitsu.

"Let me explain your transformation. Once the long hand completes a full rotation, you'll become a spider."

"Here, your hands and feet will go numb, your whole body aching."

"Here, you'll feel nauseous and dizzy."

"Here, you'll be in excruciating pain, your body shrinking, losing consciousness."

"When you wake up, you'll be a spider!"

"Hahahaha~"

The {demon} pointed to the times on the watch with another leg.

Zenitsu screamed, his nerves completely shattered by the {demon}'s words.
