Chapter 21: 21
Felix stood in the room, his fists clenched at his sides, eyes narrowed as he glared at Noah. "I don't believe you," he said, voice sharp and distrustful. "Your words aren't sincere. I know both you and Samael—players, both of you." He shook his head in disbelief. "This isn't you. I know what you're after."
Without waiting for Noah to respond, Felix turned on his heel and dashed out of the room, his heart racing. He had to find Ashton. He had to get him out of there before something worse happened.
Noah, on the other hand, watched him leave with an amused, almost affectionate smile. He didn't stop Felix from running. Instead, he leaned against the doorframe, his eyes gleaming with a quiet satisfaction. His little wolf is coming to the academy, Noah thought, a glint of anticipation in his gaze. Soon, he'll be closer to me.
Felix, however, was already halfway down the corridor, anxiety rising in his chest. He knew Noah's strength, knew that with his B- Novice rank, he wasn't a match for Noah's power. Felix was only an E- Novice rank himself, and it was a stark reminder of just how outclassed he was in terms of raw power. But he couldn't let Noah catch up to him. He had to get to Ashton before any more trouble arose.
Felix dashed down the stairs, pushing through the doors of the mansion and out into the night. As he raced toward the direction of Samael's room, he glanced back, but Noah didn't follow. A slight relief settled in Felix's chest, though he didn't slow his pace. His only concern was getting Ashton out of there before any more surprises hit.
Felix made his way to Samael's room, his breath coming in short gasps. He could feel the tension thick in the air even before he entered. Samael was still inside with Ashton, and Felix could sense the charged atmosphere between them. His instincts kicked in as he pushed the door open. "Ashton," he called, his tone urgent. "Let's go."
Ashton hesitated for a moment, his eyes flicking to Samael, who stood silently watching them. Before Ashton could say anything, Samael spoke, his voice calm yet filled with subtle authority. "Okay, Ashton. Let's go to the academy tomorrow for the configuration together."
Felix stiffened, taking a step forward. "No," he interjected quickly. "Ashton is coming with me."
Samael's gaze shifted to Felix, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips. But Felix wasn't looking for a smile—he was focused on Ashton, his only priority. He grabbed Ashton's arm gently, guiding him toward the door with a firm but protective grip. "Come on. We need to leave. Now."
Ashton, though hesitant, followed Felix as they made their way toward the mansion's driveway. Felix's car was parked just outside, ready to take them to safety. As they drove off, Felix's mind raced with worry, though he did his best to hide it. The connection between Samael and Ashton was undeniable, and Felix wasn't sure how much longer he could protect Ashton from whatever was coming.

Inside Flameheart Mansion
The large, luxurious balcony overlooked the entire mansion grounds, where both Noah and Samael stood, watching Felix and Ashton leave in the distance. The night was calm, but an eerie sense of predatory satisfaction seemed to hang in the air.
Noah turned to Samael, his gaze soft but filled with hidden meaning. "Congratulations, brother," he said, his voice low. "On awakening and finding your mate.
"
Noah nodded thoughtfully. "And thank you for informing me about Felix coming here. I must go to the academy now.
Samael smirked, the expression both predatory and satisfied. "Always welcome," he replied, though his tone was sharp, almost as if savoring the moment
Samael's smirk widened, the darkness in his eyes more apparent now. "And congratulations to you as well, brother," he said, his words dripping with meaning. "For confirming your mate. Now, we must capture them. So they can never escape from us."
Noah's smile grew into something much darker, predatory in nature. "Indeed," he agreed, his voice low and filled with anticipation. "We won't let them slip away."
