Chapter 7: Awakening Process Begins
After gathering all the necessary knowledge, Ashton decided to train his body for a week. Even though he possessed a powerful mind, his physique was still lacking in this new world. He needed to adapt quickly.
During his research, he discovered that this world had different social norms compared to his previous one. Same-sex marriage was not only legal but widely accepted, unlike his past world, where it was much rarer. However, relationships and love had never been a priority for him. Survival, work, and assassination had consumed his life, leaving no room for anything else.
The Next Morning
At 5 AM, Ashton woke up and went for a morning run, pushing his body to adjust to this world's physical demands. Afterward, he stopped by some stores to buy essential supplies for himself. He also took a leave from his part-time job—adapting to this world was more important right now.
After finishing his light exercises, Ashton headed straight to the Hunter Association to register for the Awakening Process.
Arriving at the Hunter Association
When Ashton arrived, he was astonished by the sheer grandeur and vastness of the Hunter Association's headquarters. It was an enormous, futuristic structure, towering over the city like a fortress. The building radiated an overwhelming presence, symbolizing power, authority, and the unbreakable will of hunters.
As he stepped inside, he saw hundreds of young men and women, all gathered for the same reason—registration for Awakening. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, nervousness, and anticipation.
Without wasting time, he walked up to the inquiry desk. The receptionist, a well-dressed woman with a professional demeanor, glanced at him before handing over a registration slip.
"Fill this out and head to Hall B for processing," she instructed.
Ashton nodded and followed the directions, soon arriving at a massive registration hall where multiple lines had formed. He quietly took his place in one of the lines, patiently waiting for his turn.
As Ashton stood in line, calmly observing his surroundings, he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder.
Instantly, his assassin instincts kicked in.
Without hesitation, he grabbed the intruder's wrist, twisted it, and flipped them over his shoulder, slamming them onto the ground with precise force.
A collective gasp echoed through the hall.
However, as Ashton looked down at the person he had just thrown onto the floor, his eyes widened in shock.
The face staring back at him was not a stranger.
