Divine Necromancer : Cultivating Life & Death

Chapter 6: Classification

Hunter Classification

Every Hunter undergoes an Awakening, unlocking a unique talent that determines their potential. These talents are graded from lowest to highest as follows:

E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS.

Each rank is further divided into three sub-categories to track progression:

Novice Rank (e.g., E -)

Adept Rank (e.g., E)

Peak Rank (e.g., E +)

Regardless of talent level, all Awakened start at E Rank. However, their growth limit is dictated by their talent. For example, a B Rank talent will begin at E Rank Novice but can only grow to B Rank Peak at most. Meanwhile, an S Rank talent also starts at E Rank, but they can eventually break through to S Rank and beyond.

This makes talent awakening crucial—a higher-grade talent offers the potential for far greater power in the future. In this world, talent is the foundation upon which true strength is built.

Monster Classification

Just as Hunters are ranked, monsters are also classified based on their strength and threat level. Their ranks mirror the Hunter system:

E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS.

Each rank is further divided into three sub-categories:

Lesser (e.g., E -)

Greater (e.g., E)

Elite (e.g., E +)

Threat Levels

E to C Rank Monsters: These creatures pose a moderate threat, commonly found in dungeons and the wild. While dangerous to weak hunters, they can be taken down in groups.

B to A Rank Monsters: These are highly lethal beings that require elite hunters or specialized teams to subdue. They possess enhanced abilities and can cause large-scale destruction.

S Rank and Above: These monsters are walking catastrophes.

S Rank creatures can annihilate entire cities.

SS Rank beings are feared even by nations, requiring entire guilds or armies to challenge them.

SSS Rank monsters are considered calamity-class—their very existence threatens the survival of humanity itself.

Higher-ranked monsters often develop intelligence, unique abilities, and even command over lesser creatures, making them exponentially more dangerous. Some SS and SSS Rank monsters are even mythical beings—so powerful that only the strongest warriors dare to face them.

Demon Classification (Updated)

Demons are categorized by their horns, which indicate their age, power, and intelligence. The more horns a demon possesses, the stronger and more dangerous it becomes.

One-Horned Demons – Equivalent to C Rank Hunters. They are the weakest of their kind, still developing intelligence and combat abilities. Comparable to young warriors in training.

Two-Horned Demons – Equivalent to B Rank Hunters. They have matured significantly, possessing greater physical strength, intelligence, and combat skills.

Three-Horned Demons – Equivalent to A Rank Hunters. At this stage, demons begin to awaken unique abilities, enhanced regeneration, and stronger magical capabilities.

Four-Horned Demons – Equivalent to S Rank Hunters. These demons serve as commanders, leading demonic armies with superior intelligence and overwhelming strength.

Five-Horned Demons – Equivalent to SS Rank Hunters. They are calamity-level beings capable of destroying entire cities. These demons possess forbidden magic, immense battle instincts, and the ability to corrupt or enslave weaker beings.

Higher-horned demons are not just stronger, but also more intelligent and strategic, often leading vast armies or influencing major events in the world.
