Gu You's voice was calm and steady, but his spiritual power amplified the words, sending them echoing far into the distance.

The Titan Snow Demon King was curious about who exactly Gu You had come to challenge, but it understood that now was not the time for it to speak.

"What's wrong? Are you afraid?" Gu You's gaze sharpened with disdain.

"Afraid? Why would I be?"

A cold, eerie voice echoed back, making Gu You frown slightly. This voice didn't sound like Yuezi at all.

Could it be? Gu You had a sudden thought. Could it be that the one answering him wasn't Yuezi at all, but someone else entirely?

But this guess was blown apart the moment that figure appeared.

The sky began to darken. A black dot appeared, growing larger and larger overhead. Gu You tilted his head back, his heart tightening. He knew this aura too well — it was the power of the Evil God, capable of distorting space and worlds.

The black dot expanded into an enormous oval, surrounded by swirling rings of light, resembling a small planet. But to Gu You, it looked more like a miniature black hole.

At the same time, a surge of deadly aura erupted, staining even the sunlight black. The entire world around them twisted and transformed, creating an unsettling illusion of something real yet unreal.

A figure tore through the black sphere, stepping into view.

Gu You froze. He didn't even know how to describe it — there was a strange, patchwork beauty to it.

Yuezi had changed. Her face seemed twisted by some unknown power, warped and chaotic. But her strength, her presence, had risen by several entire levels.

"What… did you do to them?" Gu You's voice turned cold.

"What did I do?" Yuezi gave a twisted smile. "Isn't that a funny question? Of course… I did to them exactly what you did to Qianyu's mother."

Her left palm clenched.

Suddenly, above the darkened heavens, a massive shadowy hand materialized — vast, suffocating, like the hand of the heavens themselves closing in.

"You dare!" Gu You roared, his face contorting with rage. Fury surged through him, wiping out all other thoughts. He hadn't imagined Yuezi would go this far.

Now, for the first time, he understood the deep, crushing sense of helplessness Qianyu must have felt when her mother was killed — that burning pain.

All the soul beasts around Gu You transformed into streaks of light, merging into his spiritual sea.

Suspended in midair, Gu You unleashed a fierce dragon roar. Five spirit rings floated at his feet, the fourth one shining brightly.

The Life Domain!

Yes — the spirit ring bestowed upon him by the Seed of Life came with another domain skill, along with a unique passive ability.

He could absorb or bestow life force at will. Absorb meant draining the life from a target; bestow meant giving his own life force to another. On the surface, it seemed ordinary, but in truth, this power over life and death was unparalleled.

A single tear slid from the corner of Gu You's eye.

His right leg suddenly gleamed — the Ice Emperor Scorpion's second spirit bone ability activated.

Gu You's movements were fluid and graceful, the ultimate cold condensing around his right leg.

"Haha! And when you killed Qianyu's mother, what were you thinking then?" Yuezi's face twisted with madness, her voice brimming with hatred. "Was it just a moment of regret over your rashness? Something you quickly forgot?"

Gu You let out a fierce shout. His right leg lashed out, and a phantom ice dragon roared forth, striking at the prison-like shadowy hand.

"I did regret it — I never forgot. Yes, I was wrong, both morally and as a person. But do you understand the situation back then? I was angry! Furious at the madness that was forced upon me! Perhaps even my martial soul pushed me to that point. Killing her — it was never unjustified. If you were in my shoes, you would have been even more ruthless!"

Gu You's voice trembled. "So… let me play the villain this once."

Gu You's fifth spirit ring flared to life. As it came from a spirit soul, it provided only one ability — but it was more than enough.
