Douluo Dalu 3: Purple-Gold Dragon God

Chapter 104: Chapter 104: On the Eve of Battle

The spirit ring was firmly absorbed into Gu You's body, its brilliant orange glow shimmering beautifully against the backdrop of snow and ice. From the massive body of the Titan Snow Demon King, another light slowly rose — through his spiritual sense, Gu You realized it was the Titan Snow Demon King's trunk bone.

Gu You had a solid understanding of spirit bones. Among the six main types, the most precious were the skull and trunk bones, followed by the four limb bones. As for bones like ribs or sternum, if one could collect compatible pieces, they would form what was called an external spirit bone, or external attachment bone. These were so rare and valuable they could rival even regular hundred-thousand-year spirit bones, often granting unique and powerful abilities.

For example, Gu You's two Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear hand bones were considered external attachment bones. Though they were often called "right arm bones," once fused with the user's actual arm, they could enhance both arm bones.

As for the age of spirit bones, it wasn't the only deciding factor. While older bones generally offered stronger abilities, what mattered most was how well they enhanced the user. Gu You's two right-hand Terrorclaw Bear bones were only two thousand and ten thousand years old, respectively, but their combined strength already surpassed that of ordinary fifty- or sixty-thousand-year spirit bones.

Still, Gu You felt a pang of apprehension. Among the six major spirit bones, the trunk bone was the hardest to absorb and the most painful. While the skull connected to the brain and could also cause intense pain, a spirit master with strong mental power had many ways to manage it. The trunk bone, however, connected directly to the body's core skeleton. Unless one had an exceptionally strong physical body, the damage and pain during fusion were often unbearable — and this wasn't just any bone, but the bone of a three-hundred-thousand-year savage beast.

Gu You's third spirit ring suddenly lit up, releasing the extreme cold of Ultimate Ice to numb the pain. It was the best strategy he had right now.

The trunk bone began connecting to Gu You's spirit power, sending waves of energy that slowly surged toward his chest.

The intense cold of Ultimate Ice reached so deeply that even his soul felt frozen.

As the trunk bone reached his chest, it suddenly released eight beams of light, tightly latching onto his spine.

Gu You's eyes widened in shock. With a fierce burst of blue light, the Titan Snow Demon King's trunk bone vanished into his chest, drilling deep into his spine.

His chest heaved violently. No matter how much pain he'd endured before, nothing compared to the searing agony in his spinal cord now.

Thanks to the Ultimate Ice's numbing effect, the pain was significantly dulled, though the sharp, nerve-wracking aches still surged through him.

Monster.

That was the only word the surrounding Titan Snow Demons could think of. It was the first time they had ever seen a human soul master absorb both a spirit bone and a spirit ring simultaneously. Even if such things were possible, these weren't ordinary drops — they were the remains of genuine savage beasts. How was it possible that he hadn't let out a single scream?

A surge of dense blood energy began to ripple through the air. The Dragon God bloodline sensed the changes in Gu You's body and worked to ease his burden.

By the time the spirit ring stabilized and the spirit bone fully fused, Gu You hadn't cried out once.

Now, everything felt warm and smooth. The excruciating pain was gone, and a comforting warmth spread through every part of his spine.

It was a sensation of extremes — one moment enveloped by Ultimate Ice's freezing cold, the next dripping with sweat from intense internal heat. His blood surged like tidal waves, endlessly circulating, and tiny beads of blood seeped from his skin.

But this only lasted a few seconds before the surrounding cold surged back, pressing in once again.

From freezing cold to blazing heat, then back to freezing cold — the wild shifts in his body temperature made it feel like his entire body was being melted and reshaped, as if it might explode at any moment.

Despite his discomfort, Gu You raised his hand, casting his spiritual energy outward to envelop everything around him. With the addition of the Titan Snow Demon King's three-hundred-thousand-year cultivation, his spiritual power had now surpassed ten thousand.

At this point, Gu You could arguably claim the title of strongest spiritual power for his age in human soul master history. Not even Huo Yuhao ten thousand years ago could match this. In fact, even some present-day Title Douluo might fall short of his current spiritual might.

His spiritual sense extended across a six-kilometer radius. All the surrounding Titan Snow Demons were drawn into his spiritual world, including the Ice Emperor Scorpions.

Of course, this broad sweep might miss a few here and there, but Gu You figured it was fine — they should at least leave a few beasts behind in the Extreme North, after all.

His spiritual pressure fused with his bloodline aura, leaving almost no soul beast under a hundred thousand years able to resist him.

Once everything was done, Gu You's spiritual power surged again, now nearing twenty thousand — close to breaking into the Spirit Domain Realm, where he would have his own spiritual domain.

He steadied his cultivation. The three-hundred-thousand-year spirit ring alone had raised his power by three full levels, pushing him all the way to level fifty-three, the peak of the Soul King realm.

At this moment, if Gu You went all-out and unleashed his full divine might, he already had the strength to challenge even an Extreme Douluo.

As day turned to night and night back to day, Gu You opened his eyes, his gaze firm as he stared toward the heart of the Extreme North Plateau.

Truly, cause and effect had flipped. With every cause, there must be an effect. He'd thought his karma with Yuezi had ended, but now it was clear — this was only the beginning.

As for who was right or wrong in this conflict, no one could easily judge. But standing in Gu You's shoes, he knew his side was right.

If the Evil Soul Masters hadn't forcibly hijacked the soul train, would any of this have happened?

Gu You had never been one to seek violence. If someone wanted to befriend him, he would gladly accept. But if someone wanted to stand against him — then they had better check how many lives they had to spare.

"Come out. Let's boost morale," Gu You murmured, his spiritual eyes gleaming.

Hundreds of tiny beams of light appeared on the snow-covered ground.

Beasts ranging from ten meters to a thousand meters tall emerged, all with thousand- and ten-thousand-year cultivations. Gu You hadn't released any of the hundred-year beasts, and two towering hundred-thousand-year leaders stood among the crowd.

Stepping confidently into the air, Gu You strode upward, walking until he stood proudly atop the Titan Snow Demon King's head.

He gazed down, overlooking the sea of roaring spirit beasts. Across the entire frozen landscape, there was only one word.

Master.

The might of this scene was overwhelming. Even Gu You's heart surged with excitement, like a general leading his army. He raised his hand and issued his command.

"To the Extreme North Plateau — let's go!"

The Extreme North Plateau lay deep inside the region, at its very core. Its elevation reached nearly three kilometers, its ice and snow never melting, its towering mountains piercing the heavens.

The earth rumbled as Gu You advanced, leading his army of "divine beasts." With every step the Titan Snow Demon King took, the ground quaked. Several ten-thousand-year Titan Snow Demons flanked it on either side.

Behind them, snow churned and billowed — and if one looked closely, they would see countless spirit beasts racing across the frozen land, their stampeding footsteps kicking up the shining snow.

To an outsider, it would look like the spirit beasts of the Extreme North had gathered to launch an attack on humanity.

Resting his chin on one hand, Gu You's expression was complicated as he gazed into the distance.

"Yuezi… I…"
