Douluo Dalu 3: Purple-Gold Dragon God

Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Gone! All Gone!!

'Still following the teacher's words… but now striving for my own glory…'

Gu You dashed away, running straight toward the Tianhai Sports Arena.

The two venues were quite close.

He had to admit — the repairs were shockingly fast, almost like watching construction fanatics at work. In just half an hour, everything had been fully repaired.

The individual matches hadn't started yet. Judging by his match number, Gu You figured he would go up in the fifth round — about two hours later.

Because the Tianhai Alliance Tournament had so many participants, it was divided into multiple rounds. Each round had fifty contestants battling simultaneously, and that was just in one small area. The scale of this competition was staggering.

"Gu-ge! You were amazing!" Xie Xie ran up like an excited fan the moment Gu You returned.

"That's normal." Gu You sidestepped so Xie Xie's hug hit empty air. "Where's Gu Yue?"

"Inside…" Xie Xie looked pitifully disappointed.

Gu You entered the special section reserved for Class Zero. At that moment, Xu Xiaoyan was on a call while Gu Yue sat nearby, rapidly jotting things down.

Seeing this, Gu You chuckled softly. Just this little scene lifted his mood tenfold. He walked over to Gu Yue's side.

"Not bad — your handwriting's pretty elegant," Gu You teased.

Gu Yue calmly looked up at him. "You owe me for this."

"Yeah, yeah, I owe you," Gu You said with a wry smirk.

"And me! And me too!" Xu Xiaoyan chirped happily, still on her call. On the other end, the person sounded confused. "Hello? Can you speak properly? I don't understand what you're saying."

"Ah? What did you just say? I forgot — let me introduce you again," Xu Xiaoyan quickly refocused.

"Check it out — I carefully picked these names and wrote them all down for you. Oh, and I've got good news: Wang Jinxi and Zhang Yangzi both called back saying that when you officially start your group, they want to be among the first members," Gu Yue said, handing over her notebook with a faint smile.

"That's actually really good news." Gu You took the notebook and glanced through it — his eyes widened in surprise. There were even Soul Douluo-level powerhouses, aged up to 43, on this list. 'Do I really have that much influence?' He noticed they'd basically all met his stated criteria, with notes and contact numbers for follow-up. Of course, some people might just be playing around or lying, but for now it was just reservations — the reality would shift a lot by the time things truly got moving.

Inside the arena, the battles were heating up. In the youth division, soul rings weren't particularly high — at most three rings — and the one-on-one matches meant there weren't too many battle zones. Each arena was roughly thirty meters in diameter, and lined up next to each other, they created a dazzling display of martial spirits and soul techniques.

With plenty of time until his fifth-round match, Gu You decided to take Gu Yue outside for some food. But just as they approached the stadium exit, a familiar figure appeared.

Ye Xinglan!

Her expression didn't look good. She seemed to steel herself before jogging up to Gu You.

"I… the way I spoke before, I really… shouldn't have used that tone or looked at you like that. You even apologized to me, and I've felt awful about it…" Her words stumbled and broke, leaving Gu You blinking. 'You're apologizing? But you didn't even rehearse this properly.'

Seeing Gu You's faintly scornful look, Ye Xinglan almost exploded from embarrassment. This was the first time she'd ever apologized to someone — she truly didn't know how to do it.

"Alright, alright, enough of that. You need to fix that princess attitude, okay? You're not quite full-on princess mode, but you're close. Look, you're such a pretty girl — but you always give people that arrogant look, that haughty tone. It's seriously infuriating. Sure, when you're stronger, it's fine — but what happens when you run into someone stronger than you? Just remember: there's always someone better, always someone higher. Keep that in mind." Gu You spoke calmly.

"By the way, where's the little fatty? I was planning to treat him to some good food."

"Him? I don't know — honestly, half the time we can't find him either. He's probably off somewhere hunting for snacks again," Ye Xinglan admitted awkwardly.

After sharing a delicious grilled fish meal, they returned to the stadium — only for Xu Xiaoyan to come rushing over, looking flustered. "Gu You! Something's happened."

"What's wrong?" Gu You was in a great mood after the meal, but this sudden alarm set his nerves on edge.

"There's someone named Xin Ya… they called about something at the orphanage, something really big!" Xu Xiaoyan repeated what the caller had said.

The moment Gu You heard the name "Xin Ya," his heart lurched. 'Please let it be nothing bad…'

"They'll be fine!" Gu You kept repeating under his breath.

"What's going on?" Gu Yue noticed his growing agitation and the chaotic storm in his mind.

"Gu Yue! I need you to cover for me — tell Teacher Wu I'm leaving for a bit. I might be overreacting, but this concerns my childhood, and even if you don't understand, I won't explain. Just know — it's important." Gu You's hands trembled as he grabbed Gu Yue's shoulders, causing her face to flush slightly.

"Y-you… let go first. I understand," Gu Yue murmured softly.

Realizing his rashness, Gu You quickly released her, snatched the soul communicator from Xu Xiaoyan, and called back the newest number. Without waiting, he took off sprinting. 'I'm going home.'

Gu Yue watched his disappearing figure, her heart filled with long-lasting unease.

Xu Xiaoyan blinked in confusion. "His match is about to start — he's not going to compete?"

On the other end of the call, the voice was frantic, trembling with emotion. "Thank goodness! Finally… finally, I reached you."

It was a voice Gu You knew well.

"What exactly happened?!" Gu You was already booking his train ticket back to the third-tier city, Tianhai City.

"They're gone! All gone…" Xin Ya choked, sobbing.

"What's gone?! Speak clearly! I'm already barely holding it together — if you don't explain and I show up to find a disaster, I swear I'll kill you first!" Gu You roared, drawing startled glances from all the passengers around him.

"The entire Tianhai Orphanage… everyone's gone. No trace. I can't find anything — I can't track them!"

Gu You let the soul communicator drop from his hand, trembling in fury. He had reached his absolute limit. Who could be so bold — who dared?!

They say when you're in ultimate pain, you go numb. And that was exactly what Gu You felt. His reverse scale had been touched. He could accept his own weakness, even his own death — but he could never, ever accept standing by helplessly while his loved ones were taken and destroyed.

His mind whirled with the names of everyone who had ever harmed him, but no matter how he searched, he couldn't imagine who had done this…
