Chapter 42: Chapter 42
Chapter 42: Third Update
Ning Rongrong and Ye Feng went up and down, moving around. It took them half an hour to finally store all the ancient swords into Ye Feng's storage spirit guide.
When eighteen thousand ancient swords were stored in Ye Feng's storage spirit guide device, the bracelet storage spirit guide was almost full.
"Senior Brother, the storage space of your spirit guide is so large!" Ning Rongrong couldn't help but sigh.
"Yeah." Ye Feng nodded.
Ye Feng stretched out his right hand and touched the jade bracelet on his left hand. There were golden lines on the jade bracelet, which looked elegant but not overly fancy.
Ning Rongrong, the eldest daughter of the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect—the wealthiest sect in the spirit master world, with businesses spread across the Tiandou Empire—immediately recognized the value of the jade bracelet. If judged by the grade of spirit guides, the storage spirit guide Ye Feng wore was a rare treasure.
"Brother, don't you think this is weird?" Ning Rongrong asked in a strange tone.
"Ah?" Ye Feng looked at Ning Rongrong, confused.
"Isn't it a bit strange for a man to choose a storage spirit guide that looks like a jade bracelet?" Ning Rongrong raised an eyebrow, teasing him.
"Junior sister, I get what you're saying." Ye Feng lowered his head, glanced at the jade bracelet on his left wrist, and replied with a sad look in his eyes. "This is the only relic my mother left me. When I was just born, my parents were hunted by enemies. Before they died, they handed me over to Grandpa Jack in the village. I don't even know my parents' names. This jade bracelet is the only thing I have left from her."
"So that's how it is," Ning Rongrong murmured, suddenly understanding. She paused and then apologized, "I'm sorry, Brother. I didn't mean it. I didn't know your parents... had already... had already..."
"Fine," Ye Feng forced a smile, stretching out his hand and placing it on Ning Rongrong's shoulder. "Don't I still have Xiao Wu, Master, and you, my junior sister? It's okay. Well, it's daybreak. We should head back."
"Okay," Ning Rongrong nodded with a smile.
"Or... ride a flying sword?" Ye Feng asked awkwardly. Thinking back to what happened earlier, Ye Feng wiped his nostrils with his fingers.
"Of course! This place is so far from the academy. If we walk, it'll take hours." Ning Rongrong blushed, the intimate scene from before flashing through her mind.
Both Ye Feng and Ning Rongrong's heartbeats quickened when they thought about what was about to happen.
"Okay, come up," Ye Feng said, summoning his martial spirit, the Xuanyuan Sword.
When Ye Feng and Ning Rongrong began flying with the sword, they were both surprised. Even though Ye Feng was flying with someone on the sword, he was still able to control the Xuanyuan Sword to fly forward smoothly. The people standing on it didn't feel any shakiness at all.
"Brother, are you able to fly with a sword and carry a person so skillfully?" Ning Rongrong asked, astonished.
"Do you really hope that my skills are still lacking?" Ye Feng joked.
"Brother, you bully me again!" Ning Rongrong stood behind Ye Feng, glaring at his profile with mock resentment. She felt a little disappointed, realizing she couldn't have the same physical closeness with him as before.
Not only Ning Rongrong but even Ye Feng himself felt a slight loss. As a normal man, he naturally wanted to have more physical contact with Ning Rongrong.
Ye Feng suspected that the reason his sword-flying skills had improved so much was because his sword-shaped martial spirit had awakened its domain.
After Ye Feng and Ning Rongrong left the mountain, a man in a plain black robe landed on it. Neither Ye Feng, Ning Rongrong, nor Chen Xin had realized that everything that happened there the previous night had been witnessed by this man in black.
"A sword wants to become the number one weapon spirit???" A hoarse and low voice floated from the mouth of the black-robed man. He gazed at the direction where Ye Feng and Ning Rongrong had gone, his eyes growing colder by the second, sending chills down anyone who looked at him. No one knew what he was thinking.
Though it was early in the morning, some villagers had already started their daily work. They were not spirit masters and didn't receive state subsidies, so they had to work from sunrise to sunset to feed their families.
Ning Rongrong rode on Ye Feng's flying sword, enjoying the beautiful scenery around Shrek Academy. Just as they neared the academy, she suddenly pointed to a spot on the ground.
"Brother, look over there!" she exclaimed.
Ye Feng followed the direction of her finger and noticed something strange. In a thatched house with a dilapidated roof, a boy was pushing a girl to the ground. He was pulling her as if he wanted to assault her.
Curious, Ye Feng controlled the Xuanyuan Sword to stop above the roof of the thatched house. From their position, they could just see what was happening inside.
Through a hole in the thatched roof, Ye Feng and Ning Rongrong could see that the man and woman in the room were quite young. The woman seemed around fourteen or fifteen years old. She had an ordinary appearance but radiated youthful energy. Dressed simply, she appeared to be a villager from a neighboring village to Shrek Academy.
The man trying to force himself on her was even younger and looked shorter than the girl. He was chubby with short red hair like a Moganshi. Since he was facing away from the light, Ye Feng and Ning Rongrong couldn't make out his face.
"You let me go? Ma Hongjun, please let me go. I told you, my aunt came last night. Now is not the time for this."
"Cui, you had plenty of fun yesterday. Stop lying," the chubby boy, Ma Hongjun, scoffed.
"I'm not lying! Hey, hey, you're still taking off your clothes... Hey! Stop!" Cui cried out, pushing him away.
"Quit being stubborn. I'm just a bit impatient. It won't take long," Ma Hongjun said, grinning.
"You're out of your mind!" Cui glared at him in disgust, picking up her clothes and rushing to the door.
Ma Hongjun quickly stepped forward, grabbing her wrist. "Cui, I'm sorry, I was too impulsive. Please forgive me."
Cui looked at Ma Hongjun with fear in her eyes. She felt terrified just thinking about what had happened. "Ma Hongjun, don't look for me again. I won't be with you anymore."
