Chapter 22: Chapter 22:Xie Xie is the Rookie

Chapter 22:Xie Xie is the Rookie

Wu Changkong, who was watching the students in Class 5 running, noticed this girl. His eyes paused on her. She was not wearing a school uniform, and it was already class time.

"Which class are you from?" Wu Changkong walked up.

The girl's eyes seemed to be attracted by something else. She looked at Tang Wulin and Nan Fusheng pulling Xie Xie to run, and seemed very interested in the three people wearing iron armor.

"I'm here to go to school. But they said that the registration time has passed." She raised her head and looked at Wu Changkong.

Wu Changkong frowned, "Aren't you a student of Donghai College?"

The girl said, "Not yet, but I hope to go to school here. Is that okay, teacher?"

If it was another teacher, she might have been driven away directly, but was Wu Changkong another teacher? No!

"This is the Soul Master College. If you want to go to school, you have to rely on your ability." Wu Changkong said coldly.

"I can take the exam." The girl smiled.

Wu Changkong asked, "What's your name?"

The girl said, "My name is Gu Yue."

Wu Changkong nodded, "Okay, I'll give you a chance." He turned to the three running, "Xie Xie, give your iron armor to Tang Wulin, come here."

Xie Xie had slowed down in the past two laps with Tang Wulin and Nan Fusheng's help. He stopped, took off his iron armor, and handed it to Tang Wulin, "Wear an extra iron armor, can you do it?"

Tang Wulin said, "It's easier than carrying you." He took the iron armor and put it on casually. Then Xie Xie saw him accelerate again, with Nan Fusheng keeping pace.

Their physical strength... is really not human!

Panting, Xie Xie came to Wu Changkong in the middle of the playground, "Teacher Wu."

Wu Changkong said, "Your physical strength is too poor."

Xie Xie protested, "We, the Agility Attack Soul Masters, only need instantaneous explosive power and flexibility, and do not need too much physical strength."

Wu Changkong said disdainfully, "Superficial. Well, I'll give you a chance today. If you defeat her, you don't have to run this morning."

Xie Xie then noticed the girl next to Wu Changkong and looked her up and down. He took a deep breath and adjusted his soul power, "No problem."

Wu Changkong said, "I'll give you 20 minutes to rest, starting in 20 minutes."

Xie Xie sat cross-legged on the ground and began to meditate and rest. The running had consumed much of his physical strength and soul power. Agility Attack Soul Masters were indeed at a disadvantage here.

Gu Yue didn't look at him, glancing around as if curious about everything.

Wu Changkong glanced at her, "It is the most unwise behavior to despise an opponent."

Gu Yue said, "I didn't despise him!" Though her eyes seemed to say this guy wasn't worthy of contempt.

Wu Changkong stopped talking and focused on the running students.

Physical strength was key in this training. Tang Wulin and Nan Fusheng ran in front, not fast but stable. Even with two iron armors, Tang Wulin's pace was unaffected.

Nan Fusheng's physical fitness surprised Wu Changkong. Was this a trait of Aolai City kids?

Tang Wulin glanced at the playground's center, curious about the new girl. Nan Fusheng noticed Gu Yue glance at Tang Wulin, her eyes briefly sharp before calming, as if the sharpness was an illusion.

Twenty minutes passed quickly.

Xie Xie jumped up, stretched, and regained his spirits. Wu Changkong nodded, "30 meters away, ready."

Class 5 students slowed down, watching the two preparing to fight.

Among peers, Xie Xie was the second strongest they'd seen. It was unclear how he'd fare against this girl.

Nan Fusheng and Tang Wulin watched, but Nan Fusheng knew Xie Xie stood no chance against Gu Yue.

Sure enough, ice, fire, earth, wind—Gu Yue bombarded Xie Xie, keeping him at bay. Finally, light element hit his face, tears streaming.

He protested when Wu Changkong declared his loss, "Teacher, I didn't lose! My attacks were intense; her attacks might not have broken through."

Wu Changkong snorted, "You lost. When you waved your dagger, she was already behind you."

Gu Yue smiled, a silver light flashing as she moved sideways three meters. Xie Xie was stunned—what ability was this?

She looked at Wu Changkong, "Teacher, can I enroll now?"

Wu Changkong nodded, "I promised you, I'll do it. But tell me your origins and martial soul first."

Gu Yue produced a letter, "This is my junior college recommendation letter. My martial soul is Elementalist."

Elementalist? Wu Changkong, despite his knowledge, had never heard of it.

Gu Yue's battle with Xie Xie showcased ice, fire, earth, wind, light, and space—six elements. Even one element was top-tier; six was unimaginable.

Gu Yue explained, "I control six elements, but my spirit ring can't attach to any one. I can manipulate elements but can't make them stronger. My first spirit skill, Element Tide, extends my spirit power and boosts element control."

Wu Changkong understood. No soul could master all attributes perfectly. Her single martial soul couldn't specialize, and her abilities relied on control, not strength. Still, it was a top-tier martial soul, rivaling twin martial souls.

Her use of earth to trap Xie Xie, then ice to freeze the swamp, showed composite element potential. With training, she'd be a formidable soul master.

Wu Changkong said, "You're now in Grade 1, Class 5."

"Thank you, teacher," Gu Yue smiled sweetly.

Wu Changkong's face turned cold, "Then, go run with them. This is compulsory. Xie Xie, you too."

Xie Xie groaned, "Teacher, don't we get a break after fighting?"

Wu Changkong snorted, "Did you win?"

Xie Xie, frustrated, couldn't argue. Gu Yue's martial soul was weirder than his twin daggers.

Gu Yue ran to the playground's edge, joining Class 5. Xie Xie followed, dejected.

Wu Changkong smiled faintly, heading to the main teaching building.

"Why are you wearing iron chains?" Gu Yue asked Tang Wulin curiously as she caught up.

"To exercise! The teacher's strict with me. You're amazing," Tang Wulin said.

Gu Yue smiled, "Not really. I'm not strong in any element, just good at control. Any martial spirit, with soul power, can surprise you if you understand and control it."

Tang Wulin felt inspired. Control?

"You talk like it's easy. Who else controls multiple aspects like you?" Xie Xie scoffed from the other side, running lightly without iron armor.

Gu Yue replied, "You haven't fully understood your martial spirit."

Xie Xie bristled, "How do you know I don't?"

Gu Yue smirked, "You're defeated, aren't you?"

Xie Xie fumed, feeling like a punching bag. Wasn't he a genius? Yet in Class 5, he kept losing—first to Tang Wulin, then Nan Fusheng, now Gu Yue.

Gu Yue turned, smiling, "You seem to be thinking something bad."

"No, no, let's finish the race," Xie Xie shook his head, chilled and bitter. He and Gu Yue were clearly at odds, but he couldn't beat her.
