Chapter 138: Titled Douluo as a Coachman, First Public Appearance

The journey proceeded smoothly as usual.

After more than ten days, they finally arrived in Tian Dou City and immediately caused an uproar.

Dugu Bo was well known in Tian Dou City, especially in the imperial capital and its surroundings. In recent years, for some unknown reason, his Martial Soul had mutated again, restoring his youth.

The city guards had frequently seen him in various public appearances alongside Prince Xue Xing, their relationship seemingly quite close.

But now?

He was actually driving a carriage for someone else and not just any carriage, but one bearing the Spirit Hall emblem.

What did this mean?

Unless one was a complete fool, anyone with a brain could immediately figure it out.

Poison Douluo had defected?!

This was the first thought that crossed the guards' minds. But almost just as quickly, they dismissed the idea.

Spirit Hall wasn't an empire. A Titled Douluo joining Spirit Hall was that even considered defection?

It felt strange, but they quickly reported the shocking sight to their superiors.

Meanwhile, the nobles who recognized Dugu Bo shared the same reaction but unlike the guards, they did see it as betrayal.

However, none of them dared say anything out loud.

Did they really think Poison Douluo's poison was just for show?

They knew very well that unless Dugu Bo killed someone in broad daylight, the empire would turn a blind eye, even if he slaughtered their entire families.

Why?

Because Tian Dou Empire had no Titled Douluo of their own.

And with Star Luo Empire looming as a threat, Spirit Hall's neutrality was crucial to maintaining balance.

Besides who in their right mind would dare provoke a man who could single handedly wipe out entire armies with poison?

So, as Dugu Bo drove through the city, the bustling streets fell into an eerie silence.

He remained indifferent to the attention, calmly steering the carriage until they arrived at the Tian Dou City Spirit Hall.

There, he stepped down and opened the carriage door.

And under the watchful eyes of the entire city, Han Li emerged, holding Dugu Yan's hand.

Then, with utmost respect, he addressed Dugu Bo as "Grandfather", before leading his companions into Spirit Hall.

At this moment, Han Li was no longer dressed in his usual black attire instead, he wore a regal platinum ceremonial robe.

Apart from the Spirit Hall emblem, his chest displayed an embroidered bow of two intertwined colors.

At the sight of his distinctive attire, combined with the bow emblem, people suddenly recalled an old announcement from years ago

Spirit Hall's Holy Son.

Han Li.

The Holy Son of Spirit Hall had finally made his first public appearance and Dugu Bo had officially joined Spirit Hall.

Moreover, his granddaughter, Dugu Yan, appeared to be closely connected to the Holy Son.

This sensational news spread throughout Tian Dou City in less than half a day, sparking widespread discussion.

Some bold individuals even whispered in secret, wondering

"Did Dugu Bo join Spirit Hall first, or was it because of his granddaughter?"

"A Titled Douluo acting as a coachman Han Li must be quite important."

Inside Spirit Hall, Salas greeted Han Li with a complicated expression before bowing respectfully.

More than four years ago, Han Li had merely been a junior in his eyes but now, Salas had to bow to him.

Of course, he had been mentally prepared for this.

Although he hadn't been in Spirit City at the time, his family had relayed everything about Han Li's famous battle years ago especially the revelation that the Qingying Divine Eagle had been intended for Han Li.

And shortly after that, Han Li had been officially named Holy Son.

Now, standing before him, Han Li's presence was overwhelming.

Salas couldn't even sense his aura.

And when he tried probing deeper, a deep, instinctual fear gripped his heart.

Back then, he had wasted time flattering Guang Ling, thinking he was the rising star only to be cast aside without hesitation.

If he had known, he would have aligned with Han Li instead.

Worse still, Bibi Dong had personally reprimanded him afterward for failing to report the Qingying Divine Eagle incident.

How could he have predicted that Han Li's third soul ring would be nearly twenty thousand years old?!

Suppressing his thoughts, Salas respectfully asked, "Holy Son, I have received Spirit City's message. When would you like to meet with Tian Dou's representatives?"

"Bishop Salas, there's no need to be so formal. We've met before."

Han Li's tone was unreadable.

"Since I just arrived today, let's wait until tomorrow. Please make the necessary arrangements."

"Understood, Holy Son."

Salas wanted to take this opportunity to build a closer relationship with Han Li but before he could say anything, he noticed Dugu Bo glancing at him coldly, as if silently asking:

"Why are you still here?"

Cursing inwardly, Salas abandoned the idea.

Having dealt with Dugu Bo many times before, he knew better than to push his luck.

With no choice, he excused himself to make the arrangements.

Once Salas was gone, Dugu Bo turned to Han Li.

"That guy isn't trustworthy. Keep your dealings with him strictly professional no need to get involved with him."

"You have a keen eye, Grandpa. I had no intention of getting close to him anyway."

Han Li chuckled, adjusting his ceremonial robes uncomfortably. He rarely wore them and found them restrictive.

Seeing this, Dugu Bo smirked, then glanced at the excessive number of guards stationed around them.

"How about coming home instead? We've done all the formalities. There's no need for you to stay here."

Dugu Yan's hopeful gaze also turned toward Han Li, though she remained silent.

After some thought, Han Li shook his head.

"You take Yan Jie and the others back. I should stay here after all, I am Spirit Hall's Holy Son."

"Now that I've shown myself, I have no doubt many eyes are watching. If I go to your residence, you won't have any peace either."

"Hmph, fair point."

Dugu Bo pursed his lips, clearly unhappy with the attention.

"But if anyone follows you home, just kill them. That's outside of Spirit Hall's jurisdiction."

Han Li said it casually, but his meaning was crystal clear.

"No problem. You're quite the schemer, aren't you? Let me guess this batch of idiots was intentionally left for me to deal with?"

Dugu Bo clicked his tongue.

"A Titled Douluo must not be insulted. You joined Spirit Hall, so naturally, some fools will try to test you. Might as well make an example of them now, so they don't cause trouble later."

Han Li's tone was calm and collected.

"Fine. I'll take the girls back home then. We'll see you tomorrow."

Dugu Bo didn't waste words, immediately turning to leave.

"Tomorrow, you just stay by my side."

"As for Yan Jie and the others, they'll be visiting Ye LingLing as planned. I'll have Salas arrange escorts for them though, honestly, they don't need them."

Han Li glanced at the three girls, reaffirming their earlier agreement.

"Do whatever you want I'm just a bodyguard."

Dugu Bo clearly had no interest in politics.

"Alright. See you tomorrow."

"Tomorrow it is."

With that, Dugu Bo and the three girls left Spirit Hall.

Meanwhile, Han Li stood alone in the great hall, lost in thought.
