x18: Suppression! Goodbye Super Blue
In the heart of a desolate desert, Luya and Son Goku hovered silently in midair, the blazing sun above casting no shadow between them. The fierce winds howled across the barren land, but neither warrior flinched.
Whoooosh...
A single gust passed, and with no warning, they vanished from sight.
BOOM!
In an instant, they reappeared midair, fists clashing in perfect sync. A massive shockwave burst from their collision, sending shock ripples across the sand dunes.
Their eyes locked, both wearing grins tinged with rising battle lust.
"Haaaa!!!"
Both shouted simultaneously as their auras exploded around them brilliant gold bursting out as they powered into their Super Saiyan forms.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Their fists blurred again and again, the air cracking violently around them with every impact.
"Haha! This is great!" Goku yelled, his power climbing further.
BOOM!!
Another intense clash knocked them both back. Without a word, they surged their power again, this time transforming into Super Saiyan 2, lightning crackling wildly around their golden forms.
Goku smiled, hair standing even sharper with arcs of electricity dancing around him.
"You're stronger than I thought, Luya! No wonder you stood up to Frieza."
Luya smirked back. "You're not bad yourself."
Truthfully, if not for his newly-earned 500 million boost in power, he would've already lost. Despite the gap in skill and instinct, his raw stats helped keep pace for now.
"I heard you can use the second form too," Goku said, floating higher.
"I can," Luya replied.
"Then show me!"
"HA!!!"
Goku's body surged with power again. He roared as lightning danced violently around him, his Super Saiyan 2 aura blazing like a storm.
Luya followed suit, clenching his fists and screaming to the sky.
BOOM!!
Golden lightning spiraled from his body, his power rising sharply. His long hair flashed as his energy condensed.
"This is my Super Saiyan 2," Luya said confidently, lightning writhing like serpents across his body.
Goku blinked, then laughed. "Wow... Looks just like it should! You're definitely Saiyan. This'll be fun!"
But Luya suddenly raised a hand.
"Wait. Aren't you holding back? You can go one step further, right?"
Goku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. **"Super Saiyan 3? Well, yeah... but it burns a lot of energy."
Luya smirked. "Come on. Don't treat me like a rookie. Go ahead!"
Goku's eyes sharpened. "All right! You asked for it!"
"HAAAAAAAAA!!!"
His voice echoed for miles. His aura surged violently, tearing at the sky itself. The clouds spiraled away in concentric rings. Birds scattered. The pressure was crushing.
Lightning exploded outward as Goku's hair grew longer, cascading down his back, and his brow ridges thickened Super Saiyan 3 had arrived.
Luya clenched his fists. "System! Activate Super Saiyan Three transformation!"
[Ding! Transformation skill activated. Host may now use Super Saiyan Three form!]
Luya screamed skyward.
"RAAAAAAAGH!!!"
Pillars of energy erupted beneath him. The atmosphere twisted as his own hair extended and golden light consumed the battlefield. His power caught up with Goku's in seconds.
On a distant island, a young man with long, black hair looked up from meditation. He sensed it.
"Son Goku… both of them have mastered these forms already?"
At Capsule Corp, Beerus, licking a spoonful of chocolate mousse, paused.
His ears twitched.
"Lord Beerus?" Whis asked playfully. "That seems like an unusual ki signature..."
Beerus snorted. "Hmph. That new guy… Luya. He's different. Strong."
"Could he pose a threat?"
"Only if he becomes stupid." Beerus calmly popped another dessert into his mouth. "If he causes problems, I'll erase him. No dessert is worth putting up with a fool."
Whis smiled. "Shall we keep watching for now?"
Bulma brought over a plate of desserts just in time. Hearing their conversation, she said with a small frown, "That's not necessary. Luya's a good person. If it weren't for him, you two wouldn't even be eating these things right now!"
"Huh?" Beerus paused, startled, then snorted and curled his lips. "Well, in that case… I suppose we can overlook it for now."
"Thank you, Lord Beerus!" Bulma said brightly, smiling.
Beerus turned his head arrogantly. "Hmph. I'm only sparing him because of these sweets!"
Whis chuckled softly. But then his gaze shifted toward the far distance, and his usual cheerful eyes narrowed slightly with a glimmer of deeper thought.

At that same moment, far away in the desert, Goku and Luya roared together. Their ki erupted upward like columns of golden flame. Their hair elongated down to their waists, brows vanished entirely, and electric arcs tore through the sky their auras flaring into full Super Saiyan 3.
Goku glanced over at Luya and chuckled. "So you were still hiding power."
Luya smirked. "I guess you could call it a trump card."
(He couldn't exactly explain that he'd just unlocked Super Saiyan 3 after beating Frieza thanks to a system upgrade... Goku would definitely be suspicious.)
"All right then," Goku said eagerly, cracking his knuckles. "Let's go all out!"
The overwhelming pressure from Luya's energy made Goku's blood stir, it wasn't much weaker than his own. Goku could hardly hold back his excitement.
Both fighters entered their stances. Then, with a flicker of motion—
WHOOSH!
They vanished.
BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!!
An instant later, they clashed midair, fists flying at blinding speed. Their movements were impossible to track, each punch releasing explosive shockwaves.
Sonic booms echoed across the desert. Dust clouds spun violently. Electric flashes sparked between their collisions like thunderclaps from the gods.
"HAA!" Goku slipped a right hook that slammed into Luya's jaw, sending him spiraling backward. But before he could recover, Goku warped behind him, charging another hit!
Luya spun in time, thrusting his palm out BOOM! A blast of ki surged out, slamming Goku away through the air!
Luya didn't let up.
"Prince's Tactic...!" he whispered with a grin.
Just like Vegeta had done before, he unleashed a rain of energy blasts, flooding the sky with rapid-fire ki balls.
"Aaaahhh!!!" Goku was pelted from all sides, struggling to regain his balance as dozens of blasts zeroed in.
[Ding! The host has exchanged 552 blows with Son Goku! Mission progress: ongoing.]

Luya gritted his teeth, pouring more power into his assault. Dozens of rapid blasts exploded one after another like firecrackers.
But just then…
"HAAAAAAA!!!"
A massive burst of energy blew the air apart!
A radiant blue aura erupted around Goku, rippling like an ocean his golden hair replaced with sleek blue locks. His pupils turned vibrant teal.
He had transformed into Super Saiyan Blue!
The sudden surge of divine ki pushed Luya backward, struggling to keep his footing.
"What the heck?! That's not fair! I thought this was a clean fight!" Luya yelled.
Goku floated forward, smiling with a calm confidence. "You're stronger than I expected. Forcing me into Super Saiyan Blue… that's not something many can do."
Luya blinked, stunned for a second. Then he said cautiously, "How did you do that? This Super Blue… can you teach me how to achieve it?"
"Eh?" Goku raised an eyebrow. "Wait, you mean… you don't know how divine ki works?"
