Chapter 13: Saiyan’s Final Hope
[Ding! Crisis on Planet Vegeta is detected. Triggering the selection process!]
[Option 1: Ignore the crisis on Planet Vegeta and seize all the Tree of Might fruits. Reward: the Vitality Bullet]
[Option 2: Intimidate the Turles Legion, subjugate all its members for your own use, and seize all the Tree of Might fruits. Reward: Kaio Fist Technique]
[Option 3: Kill all members of the Turles Legion and destroy the Tree of Might. Reward: 10 Tree of Might fruits and a fifty-times gravity chamber]
Seeing the choice suddenly given by the system, Link made his decision without much thought.
"I choose three!"
Planet Vegeta will be Link's base in the future. He had used a wish from the Namekian Dragon to move Planet Vegeta here. How could he watch it be drained dry by the Tree of Might? As for those rewards and techniques, if he had time, he could go directly to the Kaio for them.
And, the fifty-times gravity chamber was far more attractive to Link. The ten fruits offered by option three might be few, but they would suffice.
Moreover, according to the plot, it is obvious that the Turles group have the seeds of the Tree of Might with them. With it they could plant the tree on another planet. Why should they sacrifice their own Planet Vegeta?
[Ding! Host's reward will be delivered upon completion—please complete the task as soon as possible.]
Link looked at the female Saiyan. "Don't worry, I will go and deal with those people now."
When the female Saiyan heard this, her face lit up and she lowered her head, saying, "Thank you, Your Majesty!"
"Um." Link nodded, floated into the sky, and was about to leave when he suddenly paused and smiled at the female Saiyan. "By the way, what's your name?"
"Hannacia... Your Majesty, you can also call me Hannah," she replied, cheeks flushed with a shy blush.
Link nodded, said nothing more, and flew into the sky with Broly, leaving the cave.
After they departed, other female Saiyans immediately gathered around Hannahcia. "Hannah! Congratulations—does King Link like you?" one exclaimed.
"Hannah, you are so awesome. If I had known, I would have come out to talk to His Majesty," another added, laughing.
Meanwhile, Vegeta gritted his teeth. "Damn it... Raditz, let's go over and take a look too!"
"Ah? But it's dangerous outside..."
"If you're afraid, just hide here. I must confirm with my own eyes the strength of that Link!" Vegeta snapped, clenching his teeth in anger.
Just that child with Link left him in awe—what kind of strength could Link possess? As the prince of the Saiyans, he was meant to be the strongest, yet now two figures who far surpassed him had appeared.
"I will verify their strength with my own eyes, and one day, I will surpass them! I shall reclaim the throne for my father!" Vegeta vowed.
Planet Vegeta—the Saiyan capital—was lost forever. The once-glorious royal city had been destroyed by a colossal tree. Where the royal palace once stood, only towering trunks remained, shrouded by clouds and mist. This giant tree was none other than the legendary sacred Tree of Might.
At the very edge of the Tree of Might, a group of Saiyans glared at the towering trunk and ground their teeth.
"Bardock, you said you saw His Majesty Link coming to save Planet Vegeta, but why hasn't he appeared yet? The fruit of the Tree of Might should be nearly ripe, correct?" they asked.
Among the crowd, King Vegeta—his forehead bandaged—glared angrily at the giant tree that had destroyed his palace. Were it not for Bardock, he would have ordered an immediate attack. However, before the assault, Bardock informed him that Link is on his way.
Bardock's predictive abilities were well known to Vegeta(king); his words had restrained any rash action. Yet, as time passed, Vegeta's patience thinned.
"Vegeta, please be patient a little longer. The Turles legion is too strong. Without His Majesty Link's help, even if we try our best, it will be futile," pleaded Bardock.
Beside Vegeta and Bardock stood another Saiyan, Paragas, the chief of staff appointed by Link. Together, they were the only ones holding King Vegeta in check.
At that moment, the detector worn on the Saiyans' faces began to beep, and loud laughter echoed from above.
"Hahahaha! Isn't this King Vegeta? Have you changed your mind and are planning to join His Majesty Turles?" someone mocked.
King Vegeta and the others looked up in horror. These Saiyans were traitors who had betrayed King Link and taken side with Turles, and with them were the five core members of the Turles Legion, along with the evil Saiyan Turles himself.
Seeing they had been discovered, King Vegeta broke into a cold sweat, while Bardock gritted his teeth and glared fiercely at the Saiyan intent on destroying his homeland. What made Bardock even more ironic was that this Saiyan looked exactly like him—Turles looked almost identical to Bardock, except his skin was darker.
"Turles! Get off Planet Vegeta immediately! The true King of the Saiyans will return soon! By then, you and all your men will perish!" King Vegeta roared.
"Oh?" The corner of Turles' mouth curled into a bloodthirsty smirk. "Is the true king you speak of the guy named Link? I have heard of him. That guy with only 100,000 combat power is truly worthy of the title." He mocked.
Next to Turles, a Saiyan with only a few strands of hair echoed, "That's right! Vegeta! Open your eyes and see! The only true king of the Saiyans is Turles. Your Majesty, his combat power has reached 300,000!"
"Nappa! When did you become like this?"
"Where is your pride as a Saiyan elite?"
King Vegeta fumed, recalling that Nappa had once been his personal guard and a noble among the Saiyans. However, after Turles invaded, Nappa immediately begged Turles for mercy. Following Nappa's leadership, many Saiyans had chosen betrayal.
"Pride? Are you truly worthy of saying that? When you were begging for Link, where did your backbone go, Vegeta!"
Nappa turned around and smiled politely at Turles. "Your Majesty Turles, please allow me to deal with these disobedient scum for you!"
"Go for it!" Turles commanded, the corners of his lips curling into a suppressed smile.
