Chapter 4: 04. Aaron's First Taste Of Food.
A few minutes later, Aaron distinctly heard the voice of two women talking to each other.
He couldn't understand what they were saying but he knew that they were definitely close to him.
Once again, he tried listening to what they were saying, hoping that he might be able to pick up a word that he would understand, but before he knew it, he suddenly felt his body being enveloped by the softest cushion he had ever felt in his entire life.
He wanted to feel more of the marshmallow-like softness in front of him just to be certain of what he was feeling, but before he knew it, he suddenly felt like he was running in an Olympic race as a huge gust of wind rushed past him.
The experience had been quite fleeting, but he was certain that it had been the wind that he felt a few moments ago, and right now, Aaron could roughly guess what was happening around him, even though he couldn't see it yet.
'I can't say for sure, but it seems like I'm being carried right now.'
'But why am I being carried?'
'No, I think the right question should be, whose arms am I currently in?'
'But then again, what exactly am I?'
'And why would I need to be carried around like a baby?'
'It had certainly sounded like two women were talking just a few minutes ago, but it's a shame I couldn't understand what they were saying.'
'But if I'm truly in the arms of a woman right now, why would she hold me in her arms in the first place?'
'Unless…' Aaron suddenly came to a realization but his mind just couldn't accept that possibility because that would mean that he had reincarnated into the body of a baby, and there was no way, reincarnation could ever be real… right?
'No, no way. There's no way this can be real.'
'It shouldn't be.'
'But what if it were?'
'Then, wouldn't that mean I have been reincarnated as a baby?'
Aaron chuckled silently within his mind. 'This is so weird and I still can't believe that I've suddenly become a baby.'
'Okay, wait a minute.'
'Let's try to be rational here.'
'Let's say I'm truly a baby right now. Then whose baby am I exactly?'
'And why can't I understand the language of those speaking around me?' Aaron wondered about this, but it only served to leave him with more questions than answers.
Meanwhile, back on his mother's ship, the Scarlet Heart, its anchor was pulled up, and the ship slowly began to sail as Yvonne and Lily left the island for the first time in years.
Yvonne eventually went to her private quarters, and she entered her room to see a spacious bedroom with its wooden walls beautifully polished. The room housed a large, soft bed that was draped in silk sheets.
Aside from all these, the room also had several glowing lanterns that flickered softly and covered the room in a golden hue.
There was also a massive window that overlooked the sea, and the pale moonlight filtered through it to illuminate the room, mingling with the light from the lanterns.
Aside from the large bed at the far corner of the room, there was also a wooden dresser standing right beside it with old treasure maps and trinkets arranged on it.
Although it might have been years since Yvonne stepped onto her ship, let alone her bedroom, nevertheless, the room looked exactly the way she had left it, with not a single speck of dust in sight.
All this was actually thanks to Lily, who would occasionally clean the ship during her spare time.
Even though Yvonne's ship was very big for a pirate ship, it wouldn't take Lily more than five minutes to clean the entire ship, and she was able to do that because of her ability to use magic.
With that out of the way, Yvonne gently settled onto her bed while still cradling Aaron in her arms.
Lily, on the other hand, was busy in the corner of the room, preparing the milk supplement Yvonne had stored for this very moment.
As a dragon, who was completely different from a normal human baby, Aaron's body had developed well enough to depend on milk supplements rather than ordinary milk.
This was because his nutritional needs were completely different, and even in his infancy stage, Aaron needed a diet that was richer in protein, minerals, and fire resistance-building nutrients, which happened to be what ordinary milk couldn't give his body.
Normal milk just wasn't nutrient-packed enough for him at his current stage, and his limbs and muscles could even grow weaker if he were to disregard the supplements and take only milk. Hence why his mother and aunt were working hard to give Aaron the essential nutrients he needed to grow stronger as a dragon.
Meanwhile, Aaron was still trying to process everything he had heard and felt so far, but to his surprise, he suddenly perceived the scent of something sweet in the air.
He was still trying to make sense of the new development when he suddenly felt a soft wooden spoon being pressed against his lips, and he wondered what it was.
In fact, he resisted and closed his small mouth tightly, not knowing what was being forced into his mouth, and Yvonne found it cute to see him trying to resist his meal.
However, the dragon queen was determined to give her baby his required nutrients, so she persisted and allowed the warm, creamy liquid to slide into Aaron's mouth.
The liquid met his tongue, and a sweet, milky goodness exploded across his tongue.
It tasted like the most delicious meal Aaron had ever tasted in his life.
Based on what his taste buds felt, Aaron noticed that the liquid tasted sweet like honey, and a certain warmth spread throughout his body until it soothed his nerves. Instinctively, he smacked his lips a bit, and the cute sound echoed in his ears before he eagerly opened his mouth wide for more.
