Still lying on his bed, Aiden sighed and stared at the ceiling. He had avoided opening his system notifications throughout the week, dreading the reminder of his failures. But now, the curiosity and necessity outweighed the fear.

He opened the system interface, and the glowing blue screen appeared before his eyes. The notifications he had neglected during the battle began to populate the screen.

Aiden's eyes lingered on the words. Each loss felt like a knife twisting deeper into his chest. The deaths of Sam and Piotr, the betrayal of two others, and Rogue's kidnapping all weighed heavily on his heart. The numbers didn't feel like they could ever justify the lives lost, but...

His jaw tightened as he read the final reward: 175,000 EXP.

This wasn't about satisfaction or relief. It was about using every ounce of that experience to become stronger. Strong enough to ensure this never happened again. Strong enough to save Rogue. Strong enough to make Juggernaut and the traitors regret the day they crossed him.

He sat up on the bed, his fingers trembling slightly as he navigated to the Dragon Slayer tab.

Second Generation Dragon Slayer Magic.

The words glowed faintly, signaling that the skill was now unlocked. He clicked on it, eager to see what had changed, what new power he could wield. A list of abilities and enhancements appeared before him, each more impressive than the last.

Looking at his stats, Aiden felt a sense of clarity amid the chaos. The system reflected his progress, the evidence of his battles etched into the numbers and percentages.

Aiden sat at his desk, scribbling notes in his journal, laying out a detailed plan to push himself beyond his limits. His eyes were sharp, his thoughts moving like clockwork as he identified priorities.

"First things first," he thought, tapping the pencil against his chin. "Iron needs to reach Dragon Force. It's already at 80%, and boosting it will round out my physical offense and defense. After that, I'll focus on Earth and Water for versatility. Defense and counterattacks will benefit most from those."

His gaze flicked back to the stats for Generation 2. Darkness and White drew his attention.

"Those two can be deadly together. Shadow for infiltration and quick strikes, White for utility and support. They'll give me more options in team missions...if I ever trust a team again."

He paused, taking a deep breath before shifting his focus to Lightning.

"Speed and mobility—critical in battle. I need to master it for both offense and escape tactics."

With his priorities set, Aiden flipped to a fresh page and began sketching out a training schedule.

Training Plan:

Iron Dragon Slayer Magic: Achieve Dragon Force by dedicating two weeks to intense strength training and endurance sparring. Include meditation to strengthen the mental connection with Iron Affinity.

Earth and Water Magic: Combine elemental training with situational drills. Defense barriers, adaptability tests, and simulated battlefields. Target: Raise both affinities to 30% within a month.

Shadow and White Magic: Focus on stealth exercises, light manipulation, and strategy simulations. Pair infiltration practice with combat scenarios to create synergy between the two.

Lightning Magic: Intensive speed drills, reaction training, and mobility exercises. Daily goal: Improve agility by 10% within the next three weeks.

He glanced over his plan, satisfied with the progression.

"No more hesitation," he muttered, gripping the edge of his desk. "If I want my revenge then I can't stop moving forward. I'll become the strongest man this world has ever seen."

...

The cool night air greeted Aiden as he stepped out of the house, the faint hum of distant traffic the only sound breaking the silence. He glanced at the digital watch strapped to his wrist. 2:00 AM.

"A bit late," he muttered under his breath, a wry smile tugging at his lips. "But time doesn't matter. Not anymore."

The moon cast a pale glow over the streets as Aiden adjusted the bag slung over his shoulder. Inside were his training essentials—a few weights, resistance bands, and his trusted notebook filled with strategies and spells he planned to refine. His steps were steady, purposeful, as he made his way to a familiar destination.

...

The abandoned warehouse stood at the edge of the city, shrouded in darkness. The building's worn exterior bore scars of time and neglect, yet to Aiden, it felt like a sanctuary. This was where his journey had begun—where he had taken his first steps toward mastering Dragon Slayer magic.

He pushed open the rusted door, the creak echoing through the cavernous space. Dust motes danced in the moonlight streaming through shattered windows, and the faint smell of rust and oil lingered in the air.

Aiden dropped his bag near a stack of old crates and looked around, his expression hardening.

"Back to the basics, huh?" He clenched his fists, a spark of determination igniting in his eyes. "All right. Let's get going."
