Dropped into Naruto, Breaking the World Apart

Chapter 141: Chapter 3: The Darkening of the Transmigrator

Getsushoku remembered that, before transmigrating, an old web novel enthusiast once summarized the origins of "systems" online—

① One theory was that they were the embodiment of fate itself, a protagonist's halo materialized into a system that wholeheartedly assisted them on their journey.

② Another theory was that they were actually gods, demons, or spirits in disguise—some wanting to control or parasitize their host, while others might seek mutual symbiosis. The goal was unknown, so extreme caution was advised.

③ Lastly, some said that certain hidden entities mass-produced systems to "harvest "—most commonly under the guise of something like a "Main God."

In the past, Getsushoku had fantasized about what he'd do if he ever got a system—maybe find a way to bargain, take control, and reverse the roles. But now? He just wanted to worship his system like an ancestor.

Enjoying the massive benefits brought by this cheat while still suspecting its intentions? Getsushoku wasn't that kind of idiot. Without the system, he would've died long ago in that cold laboratory—he wouldn't even have the chance to stir up chaos behind the scenes.

Even if the system did have hidden motives, being used by the system was already a stroke of good fortune!

Though the system seemed to lack intelligence—only rigidly triggering missions—Getsushoku still regarded it as his sole companion, his most vital support in this cold, ruthless world.

A translucent interface appeared before him, visible only to his own eyes.

It displayed all of his data. In the lower-right corner was a score labeled "Pain Points," which could be exchanged in the system shop for a variety of items, bloodline limits, or even the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path—though that was ridiculously expensive.

That's why Getsushoku loved doing jobs for Danzō. Every time he took a mission, he could mix in his own agenda—torture people to death and harvest a healthy stash of Pain Points.

Unfortunately, those good days were coming to an end. Without Danzō covering for him, his current strength wasn't high enough to go on a rampage in Konoha.

Orochimaru's personality was slightly different from the original canon. He didn't seem like an obsessive research maniac chasing immortality—he seemed more like… a paranoid schizophrenic.

But that didn't matter. Getsushoku would make him pay eventually!

Everyone would die!

Surrounded by endless hatred, Getsushoku drifted off to sleep.

As he sank into deep slumber, wisps of black smoke began to seep from the center of his brow, wrapping around him like a spider's web.

His brow furrowed in discomfort. He seemed to be caught in a nightmare.

...

The next morning, Getsushoku woke up.

His vision was a little blurry at first, but he felt energized, physically refreshed, and mentally alert. Still, a deep-seated resentment gnawed at his heart—he got out of bed angry, wanting to see brains and guts flying everywhere.

He got up and checked the doors and windows first. He'd tied a single strand of hair to each one—if someone had secretly snuck in, the hairs would've shifted.

Seeing the world of Naruto through Naruto's eyes might make everything seem bright and full of passion; but through Getsushoku's eyes, it was nothing but darkness and cold. "Better safe than sorry" was a creed etched into his bones.

Yesterday, Orochimaru told him he no longer needed to work for Danzō. Still, Getsushoku planned to report in to the Anbu as usual. Even after transmigrating, he had to clock in every day—what a miserable life!

With Orochimaru planning to defect, Getsushoku was preparing his escape route too. As someone with a shady identity, if he stayed in Konoha, Root would be the only place for him. But he didn't want to work himself to death as Danzō's tool.

Konoha's Anbu was filled with hidden elites. At this point in time, both Kakashi and Shisui were active—but Getsushoku had never interacted with them, not even exchanged a glance.

Unlike other fanfics where the protagonist always seemed entangled with those two key side characters, Getsushoku had no interest. He had the system, a solid cheat to help him level up. His goal was to lie low and develop steadily—that was the true way.

Since he'd decided to stay under the radar, he would absolutely never go looking for trouble. Whether it was the protagonist Naruto or any other supporting character—even if someone was decapitated right in front of him, he wouldn't lift a finger!

...

The Aburame clan's bugs and the Hyūga clan's Byakugan were a pain to deal with.

Every time Getsushoku tried to secretly rack up Pain Points in the village, he had to tread carefully and avoid them. If he ever defected, he might have to face both Byakugan and parasite bugs head-on.

Why couldn't the Aburame or Hyūga have a good little member like Uchiha Itachi?

The system shop did offer ways to circumvent Byakugan and the bugs—but it cost Pain Points.

Thus began a vicious cycle.

He casually crushed a pigeon—Pain Points +0.1. Getsushoku let out a long sigh. Killing animals just didn't yield enough compared to humans.

Looked like he'd need to find someone to kill.

And the opportunity came quickly.

One day, he happened to spot Shisui looking troubled.

Shisui had a decent reputation. Through his conversations with teammates, Getsushoku learned that there had been a dispute between the Konoha Military Police and a local merchant.

The merchant had been shortchanging customers and was reported to the police. After confirming the issue, the Police Force ordered the merchant to compensate the victims. However, right after paying up, the merchant went around the neighborhood claiming that the Police had used violence, casting himself as a victim.

True to their nature, the Uchiha made that lie come true—turning rumor into reality. They tossed the merchant in jail and held him there for a week.

"My clansmen are far too impulsive," Uchiha Shisui sighed deeply, clearly disapproving of the Police's handling of the matter.

It was just a civilian merchant—was it really necessary to be so petty and vindictive? Aren't we all comrades of Konoha?

Shisui really wanted the Police to issue an apology, but the proud Uchiha would never do such a thing. Even if they were in the wrong, they'd rather double down than admit it.

Getsushoku knew he was about to earn himself a nice batch of Pain Points.

That night...

Getsushoku used the Transformation Jutsu to disguise himself as a stranger wearing a Uchiha clan uniform. Quietly, he snuck into the merchant's home.

But halfway there, he spotted someone dressed very similarly to himself, blatantly flaunting their Uchiha identity—clearly a fake.

Getsushoku narrowed his eyes. With a flick of his finger, he barked sharply,

"Who are you? I don't recall seeing you in the clan before!"

"... I..."

Before the sentence was finished, a soft pop echoed in the air. The imposter's head burst—red and white matter spilling everywhere.

He died too peacefully. Not enough Pain Points were earned. Getsushoku had no choice but to continue with his original plan.

All the evil was concealed by the veil of night.

Getsushoku felt like he was doing a good deed—helping the Uchiha vent their anger, discrediting them for Danzō, and eliminating a corrupt businessman for Konoha.

"A triple win! I truly am amazing!"

Back home, he lay down peacefully to rest. With his interference, who knew if the conflict between the Uchiha and Konoha's upper echelon would escalate earlier than expected? Itachi was still just a kid. If only both sides would clash and wipe each other out—that would be ideal!
