Dusk (BL Light Novel)

chapter 10

[Race] Supreme Commander Honeybread has descended into Dead Breath Land: Heart as the True Incarnation of Night.

[Race] Toescrubber of the Main God: ??
[Race] Curry: ????
[Race] Judgment: Holy shit, the Incarnation?

[Race] Ceylontea: No way, he popped Incarnation—this is peak content
[Race] HardshipAndWeekend: Whoa, wow…
.
One of the Supreme Commander’s exclusive active skills—this buff granted massive stat increases for 20 minutes:
+50% Skill Damage, +50% Defense, +70% Penetration, +20% Critical Rate, +25% Accuracy, +10% Attack Speed, +6% Movement Speed, +8 meters Skill Range.
On top of that, 85% resistance to some debuffs and status effects, and a whopping +800% Max HP.

The drawback? You couldn’t gain any Fame for 2 hours in any form, and if you died, the skill would immediately end.
But I wasn’t obsessed with Fame farming. More than anything, I wanted to crush Retaking a Class’s ridiculous plan to keep me tied up until 10 no matter what.
[Normal] Retaking a Class: ?

Retaking dropped a single question mark in chat—he was clearly flustered.
He’d probably received the cross-faction alert that I’d activated a transformation skill. Skills like Incarnation broadcast notifications to the opposing race.
Not that he needed a message. My character was now enveloped in a blazing aura of black light, wings fully spread. You couldn’t not notice I’d gone Incarnation mode.
[Guild] soloist: even the libido-suppressing balls are glowing

[Guild] Ceylontea: libido lmao suppression lmao balls lmao
[Guild] RomanticCat: good god
[Guild] RomanticCat: where the hell did libido suppression come from;;

[Guild] Summoner: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
[Guild] soloist: I mean… look at the color of those balls…
[Guild] soloist: it’s like that cursed appetite-suppression meme image……

Yeah. I knew what Solo meant.
I didn’t want to remember that image, but now I did.
Stupid guild chat had me reflexively soft-blurring my own character in my brain. Shaking it off, I rushed in and slammed an attack skill into the still-stunned Retaking.
His HP started dropping at a completely different speed now. Thanks to the +50% skill damage boost, it wasn’t the old snail’s pace anymore. Every hit took 1%, 2%, sometimes even 4% at once.
I normally prefer evenly matched fights, but hey—he landed the first punch. Now it was time to pay him back double.

[Combat] You have taken 512 damage from Retaking a Class’s Snap-Break.
[Combat] Your Executioner’s Strike was canceled by Snap-Break.
[Combat] You have taken 545 damage from Retaking a Class’s Twist-Break.

[Combat] You resisted the Stun from Twist-Break.
[Combat] You dealt 11,365 damage to Retaking a Class with Will’s Punishment.
Whoa… 11,365.
That was a full 11% chunk of his HP gone.

Retaking's once-impenetrable HP bar was now plummeting—in 30 seconds, it had dropped below 10%.
It was like drinking a whole can of soda after choking on dry sweet potatoes while watching two main leads miscommunicate in a drama.
[Combat] You have taken 696 damage from Retaking a Class’s Side-Break.
[Combat] You are now affected by Attack Speed Down from Side-Break.

He hit back with some close-range moves, but the damage was tiny and most of the status effects didn’t even stick.
Only the -4% attack speed landed—which, with my current +10% bonus, was basically meaningless.
Retaking must’ve realized he couldn’t keep this up. He suddenly backflipped away using a dodge skill.
I tracked his motion and activated Capture just as the dodge animation ended.
[Combat] Retaking a Class dodged Enforcer’s Bind using Emergency Evasion.

Again, Retaking gave up on Stress management and used Emergency Evasion to create distance.
But he neither ran nor counterattacked. He just hovered beyond 31 meters, constantly repositioning to stay just out of range.
Clearly, he was trying to survive until 10 o'clock.
Yeah, not gonna happen. You think I popped Incarnation just to let that happen?
Reading his intentions, I moved immediately.
Increased range from Incarnation applied to dash too—so even that 31-meter gap was now within reach.

I opened with Shield Slam, which had a short aftercast delay. My character leapt forward in a high arc, instantly closing the distance.
Retaking, startled, started retreating again, but I targeted his direction with Vanguard Command—
With my shield raised, I charged in like a frontline guard.
I saw Retaking start casting Mutated Virus Extract, probably off cooldown. I cut the dash short to cancel the cast and used my Immunity Skill—
resisting the paralysis from the stacking debuff.

He tried to run again during my immunity animation. But thanks to my increased attack speed, the delay was negligible.
I resisted paralysis and immediately hit him with Taunt.
Taunt forces most offensive and some dodge skills to lock onto the caster—even direction-based evasion skills.
Used at the right moment, it screws people over.
And it did.
Right as Retaking tried to dodge, he was already taunted—so instead of retreating, he rolled forward, right into me.

I grabbed him and dumped my whole combo into his face.
[Combat] You dealt 10,639 damage to Retaking a Class with Contradictory Prayer.
[Combat] Retaking a Class healed 7,715 HP using Healing Formula IV.

[Combat] You dealt 6,421 damage to Retaking a Class with Last Judgment.
[Combat] Retaking a Class healed 12,978 HP using Foreseen Ruin.
Retaking was doing everything he could to cling to life until 10.
But no one—no one—wins a 1v1 against Incarnation.
Not even a top-tier ranker like Retaking with god-tier micro and next-level mind games.

[Combat] You dealt 7,136 damage to Retaking a Class with Blade of Radiance.
[Combat] You dealt 9,400 damage to Retaking a Class with Blade of Annihilation.
[Combat] Blade of Annihilation has slain Retaking a Class.

[System] You have defeated Jeopa faction’s Supreme Commander, Retaking a Class.
[System] You cannot gain Fame.
[Race] Bia faction’s Supreme Commander Honeybread has defeated Jeopa faction’s Supreme Commander Retaking a Class.

[Announcement] 22:00 | Hello, and welcome to the world of duality—《Dusk》. First week of June update...
The moment the race-wide message about Retaking’s defeat appeared—it hit exactly 10:00.
Perfect timing.

System announcements about updates and events always came on the hour—and I had finished the battle just before it hit.
I had crushed Retaking’s stubborn attempt to keep me past ten. Completely.
I didn’t even shout. I just shot upright.
Felt like I’d soloed a final dungeon boss for an hour straight. No—this felt way better than that.

Race chat and guild chat were blowing up, but none of it registered.
Still buzzing, I dropped the plushie I’d been holding and began hopping excitedly around the spot where Retaking’s light-fragment corpse lay.
I looked ridiculous—like Solo had said earlier, those libido-suppressing balls were now bouncing like they were dancing. But I didn’t care. I didn’t even think about changing clothes.
[Normal] Honeybread: Before ten

[Normal] Honeybread: CUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[Normal] Honeybread: You're rank 11, so I wanted to hit you 11 times nice and deep
[Normal] Honeybread: But that number's too damn big...^^

[Normal] Honeybread: I’ve got plans, so I’m outㅎ
Nobody seemed to be coming at me, so I opened my inventory and used a Return to Base scroll to teleport out.
Probably because I was in Incarnation, no one wanted to risk picking a fight.
Even if they swarmed me, our Bia players wouldn’t just stand there and watch.

As the long cast-time on the teleport passed the halfway point, I smiled quietly and hit enter again.
[Normal] Honeybread: If you ever spec full healer again I sweaaar to fucking g o d ㅗ
