[Your first master will be Master Kirigi!]
Guru exclaimed in excitement and then information about Master Kirigi flooded my mind.
Master Kirigi is a martial arts master based in North Korea who trained Bruce Wayne sometime before he became Batman. Kirigi is known for being the master of the lethal vibrating palm technique and has mastered all manner of fighting styles across the globe and is willing to teach anyone. However, Kirigi did not believe he had the right to pass moral judgments on his students so all he would do is teach and leave the choice to them.
Wow! that's a lot of information, and since he trained Bruce Wayne to become one of the greatest fighters in the DC Universe, if he trained me then I would most likely become one of the best combat thinkers in the world just below Contessa because she relied on Path To Victory and the Simurgh.
The world then begins to change around me and my surroundings changed to Master Kirigi's Dojang in the Paektu Mountain and I saw Master Kirigi be summoned in front of me, but his eyes were still closed.
I then heard Guru's voice inside my head.
[Alright, I set everything up now all you have to do is train with him.]
'Why you're not going to help me?'
[I already am, by summoning you the best teachers across the multiverse to help you achieve your dreams of being The Batman. Also, don't worry about the time this is a simulated world so time will pass much faster here than in the real world.]
'Wait, since this is merely a simulation wouldn't that mean I won't gain any of the experience and training?'
[Well... this isn't really a 'simulation' as you have actually been transported to another dimension I call The Arena. It's pretty much a place for you to train and work hard.]
'Wait! how long can I stay here?'
[However long it takes for you to finish training, as time is slowed down in the real world and moves faster in here.]
'Is it possible for you to summon multiple teachers at once?'
[Nope, that's not within my limits so only one at a time.]
Ah, I guess that's acceptable.
[Alright, I will still talk to you, but more of as a guide as I'm using my ability to help you so don't worry I'll still be here.]
'Thank you, Guru.'
[No problem! Now let's get this training arc started!]
When she said that the world around began to stabilize and the dojo became much more realistic looking. The air and temperature became different as if to match the orginal temperature of the dojang. Then Master Kirigi opened his eyes and he looked at me with an indifferent look.
I realized my mistake and I immediately did a formal bow and I said, "Master Kirigi... I wish to train under you. I want to become a hero and fight inju--".
Master Kirigi interrupted me before I could finish "Stop. None of that matters. There is only one focus in my dojang and only one. The Work. The Beauty of the Work. You will be shown your room and given a list of duties. Training starts tomorrow.
I nodded my head and acknowledged his words, "Yes, Master Kirigi."
This was it I'm going to become the hero I always dreamed of.
...
Soon the training started I was in my training uniform and I was carrying large buckets of water on my shoulders in the snowy mountains. With no one here, but me and Master Kirigi I could not slack off as I will be by myself.
As I was carrying the buckets Guru decided to talk to me.
[Hey, I have a question to ask you?]
'What is it?'
[Why do you exactly want to become a hero, what's your motivation?]
'I guess that it's what I always wanted to be.'
[What do you mean?] Guru sounded curious
'I always wanted to be a hero. I wanted to fight criminals and beat them up and to bring justice on them for hurting innocent people. I hated that they always got away because they were rich and powerful. It wasn't fair. In my old world I couldn't do anything, but be a bystander. Now in this world with superpowers I can finally exact justice on those that harmed others.'
Guru didn't answer, but I can feel that she accepted my answer and so my training continued under Master Kirigi.
I learned many things from Master Kirigi and boy did I learn. He taught me various things from fighting styles, weapon mastery, and even anatomy.
I don't know how long I spent in this dimension, but it must have been a few months now. Since me and Master Kirigi are the only ones in this dimension we often sparred, but he always beat me. Though that only motivated me to become even better.
I would spend hours just practicing the basics of the martial arts or my weapon and I did so obsessively. It then started to become second nature to me I could naturally hold a weapon and use it effectively or get into a stance and know how to fight.
I practiced my stealth abilities with him as well, I would wear a standard shinobi attire and I would sneak around and try to ambush him or he would ambush me. I was becoming much more sneakier.
Master Kirigi also didn't just teach me how to fight or how to take a hit, but he also made me go through extensive physical training and I wasn't doing your standard workout of pushups, pullups, and sit-ups. No, I was doing endurance training in the snow for hours, balancing on a tightrope over a burning fire as I walked across to get to the platform, and practicing katas for my martial arts and my various weapons.
I lost track of how long I spent here as it all went by fast for me, but already I mastered over a hundred different martial arts and many different weapons. My body is now a weapon, my stealth skills are getting better, and I almost won against Master Kirigi in our spars together.
Master Kirigi is truly skilled and maybe that's why he's respected by Ra's Al Ghul that he sends his assassins to train under him.
As I was practicing my martial arts katas in the training room, Master Kirigi visited me and when I noticed him I did a formal bow showing my respect to the man that taught me. He simply said, "Follow me." and he walked away.
I immediately began following him and we eventually entered the courtyard. He was on the stairs while gave him some space to not get too close. Next to Master Kirigi was a scroll detailing the human body.
"Today, you will be skipping ahead somewhat... To the Chinese technique known as Dim Mak, or, more specifically, the lost-- and forbidden-- move of Dim Mak... The Lethal Vibrating Palm Technique."
Master Kirigi then started pointing to the scroll next to him and looked at me and said, "The strike when applied perfectly, activates several pressure points... causing cardiac arrest. First you must you must focus on your own Qi. Remember our meditation practice from two weeks ago. You can consider your training finished or you can stay and learn more, you are dismissed.
This was it, this is where Bruce stopped as he didn't want to kill and lose a piece of his soul. Should I stay and learn this and become unstoppable or would I be like Bruce and stop?
Soon, it was night time I laid down on my bed looking up and contemplated what I should do. In truth, I wanted to stay I wanted to learn this technique and if I did see this training fully to the end, then I would be unstoppable.
'I'm not Bruce Wayne, I don't have his no-kill rule. I'm me and I'm going to see this through to the end.'
I made my choice I'm going to learn everything Master Kirigi has to offer. Soon, it was morning and I saw Master Kirigi in the courtyard meditating I sat down in front of him and also started meditating.
Master Kirigi without opening his eyes spoke, "Have you made your decision?"
I sat in front of him continuing to meditate and answered, "Yes, I wish to stay and learn everything."
Master Kirigi didn't answer, but I can feel he was somewhat satisfied. He didn't judge his students if they used his deadly martial arts to kill, as all that matters was that he passed down his art and since I wanted to learn everything he knew then he was satisfied.
...
The next stage of my training began and it was dialed up to 11. Master Kirigi started to train me even harder than before, I'm not sure if his other students went through what I experienced, but I can tell that he was going even harder on me.
I lost most of my sparring matches despite mastering over a hundred different styles of martial arts and weapons, though I did manage to make a few draws and even a win. Master Kirigi deserves his title as one of the greatest martial artists in DC.
While I didn't learn anything new I did refine my already diverse skill sets. Master Kirigi taught me a lot about anatomy, which I did find surprising, but since he invented the Lethal Vibrating Palm Technique which can cause cardiac arrest, I suppose learning about anatomy is very important considering it's supposed to hit several pressure points.
I don't know how long I stayed, but since Bruce Wayne only stayed for around 11 months with Master Kirigi I mostly like have been trained for over a year now.
I'm getting much better at everything that Master Kirigi taught me. I'm winning more of my sparring matches against him and I can tell he was going much harder and was not restricting himself.
I don't know how long time has passed by I feel like I already mastered everything Master Kirigi taught me, my body is now a weapon, my martial arts and weapon skills are much better and I can duel Master Kirigi to a stand-still and sometimes even beat him. My stealth has improved where I can even hide from Master Kirigi and even ambush him. I mastered the Vibrating Palm Technique and now I can feel it was time to end my training as I learned all that I could from him.
I was in the courtyard again and saw Master Kirigi meditating in the courtyard and I got down on my knees and I bowed my head and said, "Thank you, Master Kirigi for teaching me everything you know."
Master Kirigi without even opening his eyes responded, "You are one of the finest pupils I have ever taught, you saw the end of this training and now you will be unstoppable. You will leave here better from my knowledge, what you do with that... is up to you."
I got up and bowed and turned away. Soon the world around me began to change and the Dojang began to glitch out of existence along with Master Kirigi. After that, the world around me changed and it was my room again. Soon, I heard the words from Guru's inside my head
[The training is complete! You have learned everything Master Kirigi has to offer! What training do you want next?]
'Hmm while I learned a lot about fighting what about helping me improve my physical condition? Master Kirigi, while he trained my body to be peak human, there are a lot of powerful brutes out in the world, so I need somebody that can teach me to go above and beyond my normal human limits.'
[Hmmm, above your human limits... aha! I found the perfect teacher for you!]
'Oh, who is it?'
[Your next teacher will be...]
