Oh my god, my company has been infiltrated by supernatural creatures! I can't tell how powerful they are, but I can almost feel the aura of their strength and they must be compared to top-tier parahumans.
As I was internally panicking at the thought of powerful monsters infiltrating my company one of the female board members interrupted my thoughts.
"You must have realized that we aren't exactly human."
"H-how did you-"
"Know? Well if you've lived long enough you can tell the difference between a regular human and a parahuman. It's also the fact that they have different scents compared to regular humans."
That was actually pretty interesting if they are able to tell the difference between regular humans and parahumans through scent alone. Though I'm pretty sure they can't tell what their powers are, they just know if they're regular humans or parahumans.
The female board member continued, "If you're wondering if we're going to betray, don't worry we aren't planning on that. After all we've been here since the beginning of this company. Why should we destroy our hard work.?"
"So you aren't planning to do anything and you're going to keep doing what you've been doing?"
"Yes, that's the plan."
I was relieved, but I was a bit curious if powerful monsters are in my company there has to be other monsters as well.
"Are there other monsters in the company other than the ones in this room?"
One of the male board members answered, "Yes, actually monsters take up the high-ranking positions while the regular humans and the occasional parahuman infiltrator take up the lower ranking positions within the company."
That's actually pretty smart, separating the humans and monsters is a good idea to make sure that the humans don't find out about them. Though since monsters take up all the high ranking positions within the company wouldn't that mean my parents knew about them? I decided to ask the board members.
"Did my parents know about the monsters within the company?"
They should know, after all they ran this company for a long time.
One of the male board members answered the question
"Yes, actually your parents knew about the monsters within the company."
"How long?"
"When they took over."
Hmm, that was pretty interesting that they knew about in the beginning, but what exactly give them the idea to fill all the high and top ranking positions to monsters.
"Can someone please tell me the truth about Pentex? I need to know everything. My parents knew about all the monsters taking up the high positions, they allowed it, and they're okay with it. I need to understand."
One of the male board members sighed at the question, seemingly knowing that I would ask this question.
"Well, Pentex wasn't originally Pentex which in this age is a multi-billion dollar mega-corporation. Pentex began its existence as a merchant family under one of your ancestors Akira Amamiya. They were incredibly successful controlling a large portion of Japan and they were very wealthy. When the Americans came to Japan in 1853 and Japan opened its borders, Akira took advantage and started expanding his business. He had a hard time in America as an asian foreigner, but he was clever and ruthless and he did start expanding his business to many other things such as electronics, vehicles, entertainment, real-estate, and a bunch more."
"And then, what about the monsters how did they become a part of the company?" I prompted.
"I was getting to that." the male board member looked a bit annoyed, but continued anyway, "Akira's son Fuji while he did love his father and the company, he wasn't particularly trusting of people and was considered to be misanthropic, so much so that he wanted to find monsters to help him."
"How long did it take for him to find a monster and get it to work at the company?" I was curious, I knew monsters exist, but they mostly avoided human society.
"Well... he didn't really find one, but he summoned one, specifically a demon. He found it much easier than spending resources and money to track one down. So he found some old rituals to summon a powerful demon, convinced it to work at his company and that's where the story ends. I'm not exactly sure what were the contents of the deal, but all I know is that monsters take up most of the high and top positions in the company and the branches and the humans get the low ranking positions, but they're compensated at least as they get paid very well, vacation, PTO, and more."
Huh, to think that Pentex went back that far. I'm a bit surprised, yet also not. This is starting to make me believe that I was really meant to be the Batman of this Earth. After all my parents died, orphaned son of a billionaires, has a trusted confidant, though Batman doesn't have a power he trained with some of the best in the world, and my power summons mentors from across the multiverse to learn what they know. I'm pretty much being set up as the Batman of Earth-Bet.
The male board member continued, "Though don't worry about us betraying Pentex, we've been a part of this company for a long time and besides, this is the only company that accepts monsters and allows us to become a part of society."
"Oh, that's good."
I let out a breath that I never knew I was holding. I was glad that they wouldn't betray me and the company and would still be loyal. After all I needed subordinates to run the company when I'm doing a crusade against evil.
"Are there any notable monsters within the company as you guys said that only monsters have the high and top positions?"
One of the female board members answered, "Yes, the head of security for Pentex is actually the Lord of Werewolves Muzaka and the security is handled by werewolves. Demons and Vampires handle the management of the company and it's expansion. Goblins handle creating advanced technology. Faeries handle handle our entertainment businesses and farms. There's more, but those are some of the important ones."
Wow to think there are so many monsters within the company, but since they're loyal to me then that means I already have powerful support which is even better.
"Is there anything else I need to know?"
"We've told you all the relevant details that are important and we'll handle the company till you are ready to take over."
I smiled "I see, thank you."
The female board member smiled "Of course."
After the talk I decided it was time to leave now that I confirmed everything I needed to know about Pentex. I decided to leave the building and go back home. Once I got back in the car where Sakuya was waiting I told her "Let's go home."
"Of course, Master Amamiya."
She then drove the car back home and once we got back home she parked the car and opened the door for me. I thanked her and she bowed her head.
I then decided to go back to my room and rest. Once I got back to the room I decided to talk to Guru.
'Hey Guru, are you there?'
[Of course!, it's not like I'm going anywhere.]
'I think it's time.'
[Time for what?] Guru sounded excited as if she know what I was gonna say next.
'It's time for me to train to become The Batman.'
I was excited. I could feel my heart pumping and my palms becoming sweaty. This was the moment that I have been waiting for. With the loyalty of Pentex confirmed I can finally become a hero!
[Yes!, of course now what would you like to train first your mind or body? I will select the mentor suited for you the best!]
Hmm, that's tough although I would like to train my mind first because it would help me I decided that it would be best to learn how to defend myself.
'Guru, I want to train my body. Find me the best teacher that will do that.'
[Hmmm, ah I found a great teacher for training your body!]
'Alright let's do it!.'
