Chapter 287: Chapter 287: Red Wedding
The Biblical Sorcerer would stretch his arms a bit as he'd grab ahold of the pews, disregarding the burns in his skin, due to its heat. He'd forcibly rip them from the wooden boards, before charging forward, using the two as a battering ram to try and pin one of them down while he focuses on the other. He was able to understand that one seems to operate with another the most, a symbiotic relationship. "...Just like how a Husband and Wife should act. They care for one another...And in this instance, their only focus to ensure the other lives." He'd mumble to himself, watching as his theory is proven true, with the Bride stepping in to take the hit, whilst the Groom would sweep itself low enough to pass through the seats, attempting a lunge attack straight for the child's head, attempting to decapitate him in one clean swipe.
Yet, Solomon merely smiled as he'd take a step to the side, shifting his attack on a mere whim, the pews now swinging straight down, with his body flung up in response.
KRACC!!!
A Direct slam into the ground, the shadows quickly swallowing the Groom and letting its weapon and the pews he's buried under serve as a ladder and platform respectively, grabbing ahold of the blade and soaring up to launch a high jump kick straight towards the Bride's chest, forcing her to use the cannons to block the strike, having the barrels snapped clean off as a response. Despite this, the Bride still decided to pull the trigger, attempting to take down both, the pews already absorbing into her through her legs, letting her create the metal necessary to repair her body.
KA-BOOOM!!!!
Despite the damages, the boy being flung straight into his barrier and causing another crack to appear, Solomon merely got back onto his feet and rushed forward once more, taking deep breathes to accommodate himself against the inferno that courses across the chapel. The Bride would try to swap weapons, her legs now becoming the Grenade Launchers to fling herself up into the air, her arms now into sawblades that grew in length and radius, swinging it around to try and slash at the child, yet Solomon would persist further, grabbing ahold of one of the pews nearby and throwing it up in the air, sparks flying as the metals clashed, leaving a wide opening for the Biblical Sorcerer to exploit, a spell directed towards her very center, chants escaping from his mouth as the inscriptions are being written, the commandments to serve as binds.
"Thou shalt not Steal..."
"Thou shalt not Covet..."
"Remember the Sabbath Day, Thou must keep it Holy..."
"Honor thy Father and Mother..."
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image..."
"THOU!! SHALT!!! NOT!!!! KILLLLL!!!!"
His voice boomed with such pride as the Commandments were placed, layering her with holy words, binds that prevent her from even thinking of doing such actions, less she'd repent by being damaged in his Light. Solomon smirked to himself as he'd wind up his punch, watching as the Bride grew frantic in her movements, non-verbally demanding an explanation. "The Ten Commandments. Basically laws that one must follow if someone wished to get into Heaven. God was the one who personally wrote them, serving as his conditions. In this case... You're forced to carry those conditions. Respect Family, No Envy, No Greed, No Wrath, Protect Purity, No Worship. In other words... You're forced to play nice with me..."
"While I can do whatever I want...LIKE THIS!!"
KRACC!!!
The body recoiled and arched itself through Solomon's gut punch, watching the woman bounce across the area and grovel down, the markings being quick to sense her thoughts and shut them out entirely, burning its body in the process. A loud wail escaped from her core, as if she was grieving, her mask quickly cracking to showcase a set of eyes familiar to the boy, staring down at the child in utter malice. "Yeah, I figured something was off with you.... It felt too real, knowing how much you worked together. You seemed to love each other so much without carrying what would happen to others or to yourself. The suspicion's still in the air, but I can make a somewhat clean guess with you. It'd be sickening if what comes out of my mouth is correct..."
"You have my Mom's eyes...Don't you?"
The Shadow immediately heard his words and made a physical shape, forming around Solomon. "Uh, Hey! Hey, Hey! Lil' 'Mon! What did you just-"
"Take a look. You should recognize them too, right?" Solomon would interrupt the shadow as he'd let him see his perspective. The woman's gaze was bloodshot, daggers straight into one's soul, as if it wanted to curse them so much until the end of their life. Shady's eyes widened in horror, while Solomon remained calm. "There's a lot of ways this can go, but regardless of what it was, I'm not going to hesitate. If you really are who I think you are...Then I'm sorry. I really, really am. If you're a mindless beast that snatched her body, then such apologies do not apply to you. Regardless of what it was, and what it would be, You were the ones who tried to draw blood first. This is to be expected."
"Ok, seriously, Solomon, you don't need to throw yourself this deep. Let me fight for you this time! You can just relax in my shadow! You don't HAVE to-"
"Shady." He'd interrupt once more, yet the Shadow persisted.
"I'm SERIOUS, SOLOMON! Have you forgotten how much this has taken a toll out of you?? You said it yourself, You don't want to be a monster to their eyes!" The Shadow was quick to lunge forward and hug the boy in a calm embrace, perplexing the beast, her eyes losing such red. "Please...It's okay. Let me take your place." The Shadow begged, yet the Sorcerer remained silent.
He'd look towards him, letting him see that tears were starting to form, yet he doesn't have an expression that reads such hopelessness. His face remained stern, determined even. "You said it yourself, too, didn't you? Who cares what other people think? All that matters, to me at least, is that I'm a good kid for someone. A Good friend for someone else, as well. For you, and for them. Good kids try to love the ones they care about, right? This is my fight. My responsibility. If I let anyone else intervene, what point is there in being the one responsible for my problems?" His words pierced through both beasts at once, the Bride's eyes widening in shock, looking down at herself. Shady, meanwhile, has his white eyes locked onto his host, nay, his son.
He'd also begin to tear up, yet he can't help but smile. "You really did grow up... You really get it..." He'd whimper weakly, leaving a small smile onto Solomon as well. Just as he was about to let go of the child to finish the fight...
KRACC!! KRACC!!!
Bones began to break. The boy was quick in falling over, screaming, wailing in pain, his arms being pulled like they were clay. The Groom still lives.
He was attacking as the Shadow embraced his son.
