Extra's POV: My Obsessive Villainous Fiancee Is The Game's Final Boss

Chapter 101: Three Rules Till Death

For the first time since he'd imbued his coins, the familiar light that was them flickered and vanished from his mind.

He immediately tried reaching out for them but there was nothing there. His teleportation was well and truly gone. He was locked in.

"In here, Ren!" Anders exclaimed, stretching his hands out, a wild grin on his face. "I and I alone am god."

"For every minute that passes, there's a new rule. The longer you fight, the more rules I stack. And the more rules I stack, the more impossible it becomes for you to win. Give up now and I'll spare your life!"

Ren gritted his teeth. He needed to end this fight fast!

He lunged forward and Anders' Aegis bloomed to life in front of him, shoving him back before he could even phase through it.

He barely twisted in mid-air to land on his feet before Anders closed the distance, burying a fist into his gut. The air was driven out of Ren's lungs and the punch sent him skidding across the ground.

He came to a stop and twisted away, barely dodging Ander's foot as it descended on the ground. He planted his hands on the ground, sending a kick upwards.

Anders leaned back, Ren's boot grazing his chin. Just as Ren's foot shot past his head, Ander's leg snapped forward, kicking Ren away.

Ren skidded along the floor, his skin burning as he scraped through several streams of lava. He stood, gritting his teeth as parts of his skin sloughed off. A second later, his skin bubbled, using up soul energy as it healed.

His skin restored itself to its previous state.

"That's a pleasant surprise." Anders laughed, tilting his head. "I don't know where these new abilities are coming from but I'll admit that you're good, Ren."

"I'm stronger, faster, than the average Rank 4. And a mere Rank 3 almost landed a hit on me. That's impressive. But the longer we fight, the closer your death arrives."

As if on cue, the air trembled and another wave of energy pulsed through the space.

"Second rule." Anders said cheerfully. "No enhanced healing."

Ren almost froze. From here on out, he couldn't allow himself to get injured or they would never heal, as long as he was in here.

Anders grinned at the expression on his face. "This is fun!"

Ren lunged forward again, forcing Anders to react. Just as he expected, Aegis shifted in front of him. Ren grinned, turning intangible as he threw himself to the right, predicting where Anders would dodge to.

He phased through the edge of the Aegis, Anders' eyes going wide as Ren's dagger sliced through the air towards his chest. There was a split second before impact, then—

Clang.

Small hexagonal plates appeared on Anders' skin like cloth, the Aegis deflecting the blade. The prince smirked at Ren. "Nice try. But we're just getting started."

He kept skipping backward, laughing as Ren kept attacking. They both knew that the more time passed, the easier Anders' win would be.

They flitted around in a game of cat and mouse, Anders wasting time until another pulse of energy swept through the space.

Ren's stomach dropped.

"And here we are! The third rule! The tie breaker!" Anders grinned wildly. "I have to start with little rules and build up to the big ones and here we are! Prepare to die, Ren Ross."

"Rule number three!" Anders called out with the assurance of a man who knew he'd already won. "No Bloodbinding."

Anders didn't give Ren any time to process the words before the prince was already on him.

The man attacked like a tidal wave, fighting without holding back anything. Ren moved as fast as he could, stretching out the limits of his new body.

He twisted to the side, fragments of stone showering him as Anders' punch cratered the ground where he'd stood just seconds before. He gritted his teeth, retaliating with a punch of his own but Aegis absorbed the blow and threw him back.

Anders laughed in response. "This is what I love about you, Ren. You keep trying, even when you know it's useless."

Anders shot forward, sending a punch towards Ren's head. Ren ducked forward, his hands blurring forward. Anders' head snapped back, the Aegis covering his face stopping the punch but not stopping the force from transferring.

Ren sent a blow at Anders' ribs but the man twisted to the side, his leg raised in a kick. Ren didn't allow the kick to land, dropping to the floor and sweeping the prince's leg out from under him.

Before the man could fall to the floor, Ren's hand blurred, grabbing Ander's shirt, lifting him up and throwing him with all his might at the ground head first.

The prince's hands snapped forward, catching him and he flipped to his feet.

Ren didn't give the man a chance to do anything. He closed the distance in two long strides in a boxer's stance.

His hands began blurring as he threw punches faster than the Aegis could cover. Anders fought to keep up as Ren's punches landed faster than he could predict. If he didn't know where the attack would land, he couldn't direct Aegis towards it.

"What— What are you doing?!" He stammered, desperation filling his movements as a punch landed on his ribs. He tried covering himself in the plates, but Ren's hand snapped forward, catching the edge and tearing them off.

"Mistake number one." Ren said as he kept punching, his wind building up around them from the speed of his punches. "You assumed you were better than me at fighting."

"When we were fighting at Giles' house, you were stronger. Now that we're equal in strength, the truth cannot be hidden. I'm better." He spat.

The air trembled and another pulse swept around the space.

Before Anders could say anything, Ren's palm shot out, hitting him in the throat and sending him into a coughing fit.

"Mistake number two." Ren pulled his hand back, the building wind swirling around it. A dark grin appeared on his face as the coughing Anders stumbled back, eyes wide as terror filled his body.

"I don't use Bloodbinding anymore, you asshole."

He slammed his palm against Anders' chest and released every ounce of stored energy in his bracers into it.

A deafening crack reminiscent of thunder filled the air as the blast of pure force erupted, tearing through Anders' torso. His chest imploded, blood and flesh bursting outward behind him as wind howled around them.

Anders staggered backward, his mouth opening and closing in shock.

He stared down at himself, his golden eyes wide at the gaping hole in his chest. His arms trembled. His Aegis flickered, the hexagonal plates losing cohesion before shattering into nothingness.

"H— How…?" He whispered, blood dribbling from his mouth.

Ren stepped back, watching as the Penny Prince's body began to collapse.

Anders let out a final breathless chuckle, his face frozen in a twisted mixture of amusement and horror. Then, he fell to his knees before crumpling to the ground, dead.

There was a beat of silence before Ren's coins blinked back into awareness in his mind. His left hand stretched out, the coins bouncing back into his arms.

His right hand was busy. It snapped forward, wrapping around Anders' soul as it emerged from the body.

The hell around him began to crack. With the owner dead, it began fading away.

The restrictions on getting out slowly lifted, and Ren wasted no time. He teleported away, materializing beside Lilith's bed. She was still asleep, her breathing soft and steady, but her complexion remained pale. Too pale.

His hand grabbed her by the shoulder and shook her awake. She blinked, her eyes focusing on him a second later.

"I did it, Lilith." He grinned softly, showing her what was in his hand. "I brought Anders' soul."
