Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Devils Trouble
A year passed since the Extra's return and the S-Class Trial is just around the corner. Makarov will announce the participants for this year sooner or later.
"Fate c'mon the S-Class Trial is just around the corner. You seriously can't spend this month, lazing around like a sack of potato." Erza said trying to convince Fate to go on jobs with her for days already.
But the teen is also too stubborn to give in, he knew this was the year she became the youngest S-Class so he doesn't even bother to enter, knowing full well this is one of the canons that would come in handy later on.
"Nah, I'll pass." Fate answered calmly before leaning back against the bar. Erza pouted trying to act cute but Fate didn't even look at her, knowing that it's just a honey trap.

Fate's body reacts on its own jumping and backflipping in the air while avoiding an ice blast by Gray. Returning back to reality, the Extra saw Gray who was fighting with Natsu not long ago, and the dragon slayer probably just dodged the previous attack.
"Ha! Nice shot popsicle!" Natsu yelled still having a grin on his face.
"3"
"Oh yeah? Try dodging this one flame brain!" Gray said having a left fist over his right open palm, cold magic energy emitted from his hands.
"2"
"Bring it, ice princess." Natsu taunts with flame covering his fists.
"1" Fate was counting down and just as he reached.
"0" Erza came out from the broken bar, grabbing Natsu and Gray's heads and slamming them against each other, a chunk of ice was on her back.
"It seems you haven't learned, boys" Erza gave the two a menacing glare, cracking her fist.
A few days passed and Makarov began to announce the names of participants for this year's S-Class Trial.
"Erza Scarlet... and lastly... Fate Redgrave."
The old master said much to everyone's shock.
"Heh!?"
Even Fate was confused, the Extra had been ignored taking missions the past few weeks, to the point that Erza had to drag him out with force.
Then after that, he hides in Porlyusica's place before running back into his home and becoming a shut-in for a few days.
Makarov's choice to pick Fate Redgrave was somewhat biased, due to the boy's visions. The old master decides to drag the boy into this year's S-Class Trial, hoping to change the future he saw.
Mira and many look annoyed seeing Fate was chosen as the Extra has been ignoring jobs for weeks, while they work their butt off to get a slot to participate.
Erza on the other hand was overjoyed to see her friend was going to participate with her.
"Fate did you see-" She turned not seeing the Extra anywhere.
The Extra has made a run for it, not wanting to fuck up the storyline even more.
And just like that, a week passed and the S-Class Trial began, of course, the white hair Extra didn't come.
Calmly waiting for the S-Class Trial to end.
The Fairy Tail Guild was celebrating their newest S-Class Wizard, the youngest S-Class Mage in Fairy Tail, Erza Scarlet. Some envy her, some admire her, others are jealous, but they all cheer for her. It hasn't been long since they got their second S-Class Mage Laxus and now, just two years, they have their third S-Class.
"What with the grumpy face?" The Extra asks the other whitehead, who walks up to sit next to him. Mira glared at Erza before narrowing her glare toward the Extra. Mira was really giving it her best but against a motivated Erza with a drive to drag her friend off to an S-Class mission was too much for Mira.
"Just shut up already, I'm not in the mood to play with you today." Mira said trying to act calm after losing to her rival, her bad mood, along with her frustration of having her rival one-up her, made her like a ticking time bomb that everyone avoided in case of receiving her wrath. Not even her sibling has the courage to approach her. Only a teen with what you can call five extra lives dare to approach her.
"Don't worry, I'm sure next year you will become S-Class." He spoke with a carefree attitude, making Mira's right eye twitch in frustration and amusement. Both of them knew it, Fate for his knowledge of an alternative future, and Mira because she is sure she will be in S-Class next year.
"Alright, that is it!" Mira suddenly gets up slamming both hands on the table and walks toward the job board. The Extra let out a sigh entering his inner world (Senji Muramasa).
"Hello Gramp." The Extra waves toward the Blacksmith sitting in an old-style Japanese house.
"Hello, Kiddo. Come, I made some tea." The Blacksmith waved the younger boy toward him, Fate walked up and sat down next to the Blacksmith both facing the horizon in the land of blades.
Fate remembered in his previous life he lived with his grandparents before they passed away, he learned a lot from them, while making many memories with them, now with Senji who is basically a thousand-year-old grampa that will be living with him for probably until the day he dies. He couldn't just pass up this opportunity.
Opening his eyes, Fate came back to the real world but instead of finding himself in the guild like before, the Extra found himself being dragged by the back of the neck by Mira of all people.
"Heh?"
"Rise and Shine Sleeping Beauty." Said the Take Over Mage who was dragging the Extra onto the train.
"What is the meaning of this?"
Fate asks.
"I bet Erza would be livid right about now." Mira who still have a smug look on her face answered.
She smiled imagining Erza looking around for Fate to do a job together to celebrate her Rank-Up only to burst out in rage, once she found out Mira had already dragged the lazy Extra off to a week probably a month-long job.
After joining Fairy Tail, the only mages that Erza when along on jobs can be counted with one hand. An Extra who is too reluctant to join and another whitehead who is her rival which usually causes more damage when together.
Otherwise, she would just go on solo missions. And Mira already knew beforehand, that Erza planned to take Fate on an S-Rank Job before she took any other job.
"We are doing an A-Rank Job." Mira said with a smirk while hiding her true intention of getting under Erza's skin.
"Heh? Isn't that a bit too much? I'm just a C-Rank Mage and Third-Rate magus." Fate said with a carefree voice not knowing the imminent danger he was facing.
"C-Rank? Third-Rate?" Mira scoffed at his words. "Bitch, please. You call yourself weak yet you have a monster like that Flat Armor Bitch backing you up. No one even dared to lay a hand on you." Mira said which just made Fate sigh.
Thanks to Erza's menacing glare every time Fate decides to join the guild brawls the other guild member avoids him. Fearing meeting the wrath of an angry redhead. Only when Mira was around to attract Erza's attention away some would actually dare to approach him. This makes it really hard for him to earn SP in the guild brawl.
"And besides you have me to protect your weak ass now. So no worry." Mira said with confidence, pointing a thumb to herself with confidence, now sitting next to the Extra on the train.
Fate didn't show his guildmate much about his true ability, he played off the Class Cards as a form of Requip Magic, seeing how he first used Requip before he started using Runes. And the music that sometimes played when he is around, he also plays it off as him having a form of Music Magic that he used for enjoyment.
"So, which job are we going on?" Fate asks seeing how there is no way out unless he wants to reveal his true power, something which he has been hiding as he found no point in showing them.
"A demon hunting job. With this, I can probably get some new Souls for my Take Over." Mira said holding up the job request for Fate to see.
Unbeknown to Mira, Fate has been trying to avoid anything that has to do with demons and devils, seeing how "Fate Redgrave" is the identity he takes after entering this world, and he seems to have inherited some trace of this identity, from his frequent cursing, to his obsession with power, even some of the carefree personality of the original is slowingly making its way into him. That also came with one of the downsides to this identity, he is 1/3 devil and 2/3 human.
He is basically a demon/devil magnet for the demons and devils that seek him for the blood that is running inside him. "Well thank you, Mira. I'm sure that I wasn't avoiding any demons or devils." He said with a sarcastic tone.
"You can thank me later." Mira said with her arms crossed and her chest pups up not knowing it was sarcasm.
After some time the two enter the town called Lily Vally. A town that is next to a deep ravine beside fields of flowers.
"Hello, you must be the mages from Fairy Tail?" A man in a brown business suit greeted them, looking at the two teens who arrived at the gate of the town.
He could already recognize Mira as she is one of Fairy Tail's rising stars similar to Erza who was annount Fairy Tail's youngest S-Class not too long ago.
"The name Mirajane." Mira spoke with a confident voice, showing the man her guild mark on her left thigh, an action that made the older man's eyes widen with a blushing face. An action that the Extra is annoyed by.
Mira sees this intent to act a little lewd so that she can criticize him for his action, basically playing with his emotion which had earned her the nickname the She-Devil. But before she could even do any further, Fate stepped in standing in between Mira and the older man.
"I'm also from Fairy Tail." He shows his scarlet red Fairy Tail mark on the middle of his left upper arm. Somewhat mirroring Erza's white mark which she has on her left arm.
The man looks at Fate with a disappointed look, before saying. "I see, then can I get your name?"
"Not important. Just a passing by mage." Fate said not giving the man much info about him. "We're here for a job and you perhaps already knew that." He quickly changes the conversation making the man's eyes widen for a bit remembering about the job request he posted not too long ago.
"Ah yes. Right. Forgive my rudeness, I'm the mayor of this small town, name Pegliouns Qu'iya." He said turning back to smiling. "We have been having some problems with some demons and devils around lately down under the Dandelion Ravine, since it is one of our main attractions for tourists, perhaps you both know what would happen if words got out about it?" He said the last part in a low tone, making sure that no one heard him.
"I see, then we will be on our way." Mira said walking past the mayor while also dragging Fate along with her. As the two walk toward the large ravine. Fate was somewhat reminded of the Grand Canyon in his old world but smaller or bigger he isn't quite sure.
"Race you to the bottom." Mira said as her combative personality kicked in.
Satan Soul!
Her body glows taking in her Satan Soul form but with her current 15-year-old body.
Install
He installed his Lancer Class Enkidu. Mira quickly spread her wings, before flying down kicking up a large amount of wind that destroyed some of the flowers around her as she flew down the ravine.
Instead of jumping down immediately, the Extra turns toward the now-destroyed flowers with a somewhat sad look. Before green light glows from his body as the flowers wither away before new ones rise and take their places.
He smiled seeing them before jumping down into the ravine landing next to Mira who had been waiting for him.
"You sure take your time." She said with her arms crossed, three demon bodies lay next to her.
"You are quick." He said with a calm tone as chains came out behind him and stabbed one of the demons that was sneaking up behind Mira. This makes her scoff. "I could have handled that." As dark purple magic energy gathered around her palms.
Evil Orb!
She fires her attack creating a large explosion that blows up a large group of demons. Chains came out killing multiple demons before jumping up avoiding a slash from a demon before Fate brought his foot down kicking the demon in the face, as more chains came out piercing the demon from multiple sides.
Some time passed.
Mira charged toward another one swinging her claws and cutting another demon in half before turning and firing a dark energy orb at another group.
Evil Explosion!
Mira fired off another attack killing more demons but there seemed to be no end of them making the Take Over Mage very annoyed.
-Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gunshot rang out as Fate was in a dark blue butler uniform, now using his Rider Card.
"This is going NO WHERE!" Mira yelled frustrated by what she could say was a sea of never-ending weak demons, they reached the town by the afternoon around 1-2 PM but now they could clearly see the moon above from the ravine.
Her magic was running lower as she had to switch to going melee for a bit to save up some magic energy, not to mention she was getting tired.
Fate, on the other hand, was having the time of his life. The demons are like an SP farm for him, combined with his max-out Luck gaining 70-120% boots in SP.
Although he didn't feel much tiredness already being used to the feeling of not eating and sleeping for days.
But he also knew Mira was reaching her limit, the Extra narrowed his gaze toward her before blowing off the head of another demon. "Agree, this is getting somewhat annoying. Cover me."
They had been pushing back the demons reaching a dark cave, which the demons were coming out from, taking a deep breath, Mira charged another attack in her arms using the rest of her magic energy to fire a dark flame that pushed the demons back. He rushes forward, requipping his book before ripping out multiple papers and throwing them out.
Soul Extinction!
Cast: Runes Wall!
The papers burned leaving multiple runes on the walls that block the entrance. Fate let out a deep breath turning back to see Mira fall to her knees gasping for air, as her body turned back to her normal both.
"Tired?" Fate asks tauntingly. And Mira quickly pushed herself up taking a deep breath.
"As if! I can still fight." She said one thing but her shaking legs said otherwise. She can barely stand let alone fight. But she still wants to keep up her tough-girl act in front of someone she deems weaker.

Fate thinks for a bit looking at Mira as they both narrow their eyes toward the runes walls seeing the multiple demons slamming against it. "With this, we can rest for a bit."
The two rest for a bit while Fate has been making some new skills.
U&I - "Fate Redgrave" can select a target to transfer part of his consciousness to, having his consciousness in their body, giving them access to his mastery, Magic, and Skill. Doing this will leave Fate's body in a weakened status, along with an 80% decrease in everything except his Magic Power and Vitality, taking 10 minutes to recover once returns.
Refreshment - The user can clear their tiredness and fatigue by paying 1000SP.

'I still have the extra 8 points better turn them into SP in case they force my hand.' Fate then narrowed his eyes back to Mira who was silently chewing on the boar leg that Fate cooked.
Secretly acknowledging his cooking skill while cursing at Erza for hogging such delicious food for herself, and not sharing one bit.
'That Bitch is really a selfish one! I am so going to kick her butt when I'm done with this job!' Mira thought taking in the mushroom stew which she also found was way better than the other stew she ate.
Looking toward the entrance of the cave, Mira saw the faces of many demons growling and screaming on the other side of the cave, lucky the rune wall even blocked sounds, Mira was pretty sure she would have a headache from the noise they were making right about now. It was lucky they didn't try to dig the wall seeing how it might make the place collapse on itself.
"So what now?" Mira asks looking up at Fate. "There seems to be no end of them."
"First we need to clear some of them first. They are demons so they are weak to Holy Magic. Meaning Holy Water would do the trick." He said looking back at the runes wall.
"Well, where could we get Holy Water? I don't remember seeing any church here." Mira let out a remark, pointing out the obvious.
"Don't worry, I have plenty." Fate pulls out multiple bottles of Holy Water making the Take Over Mage jaw drop.
"Why do you carry that much Holy Water?" She asked, since she just dragged him while he was lost in thought and he only came to know about the mission once they were already on their way and they didn't make any stop for supply. Meaning he was carrying them from the start of yesterday.
"Reason." Fate replied not really wanting to tell them that the demons and devils have a grudge against his bloodline and he is a magnet for them.
Not to mention in his act for more power, he tried something extremely dumb.
Being 1/3 devil he drank some holy water which almost got him killed as the holy water burned his throat from the inside. Luckily he was 2/3 human so he survived before getting his ass kicked by Scathach for doing something so recklessly stupid.
"Okay, so do we just throw them at the barrier you make or what?" Mira did not even bother asking why he was carrying holy water around anymore.
"No, the runes block both sides. Nothing can come in and nothing can go out." He calmly answers. "But that didn't mean it will last forever, look." He pointed toward the demons that were smashing the barrier. "It will only be a matter of time before they break it. So we have to act fast."
"Alright, I'm all ears." Mira said with her arms crossed. She didn't mind fighting them but she have her limit and she would rather act like she is hearing him out rather than showing him that she doesn't have a plan to deal with this.
And if Mira came back from this mission failed, Erza probably will have this over her head as long as they are still alive.
"First we make a small hole to let the top half in, then I will place a rune on it making the glass unable to break due to the heat." Fate pushes the lit of the bottle open inside the barrier while keeping the larger part that contains most of the holy water outside. "Next I will add another layer of runes to make it so the holy water never ends and keep multiplying until it reaches a certain amount."
Another lairs of runes appears on the bottle. "Now is where you come in, use your magic to heat up the bottle." Mira did so taking another form of her Satan Soul that used Fire Magic. "This reaction will turn the holy water into a gas form, which is harmless to humans. But it's poison for them."
And just like that the demons inside banging slowed down before their body slowly fell to the ground as Fate was racking up SP. The sight of demons dropping like flies makes both Fate and Mira smile. Mira for how easy this solution is rather than fighting them head-on and Fate for the amount of SP he is racking up.
"That is enough." He said and Mira stopped her magic. The two both step back letting the Holy Gas do its thing. "Now, we wait, we can't enter inside yet, the holy gas will weaken our fighting power."
"Okay then so what should we do?" Mira agrees with Fate on this one, seeing how her Satan Soul is also weak to Holy Magic.
"We should rest up for now." Fate answered already begun writing a runes on the ground.
"Huh? What ya doing?" Mira asks somewhat amused at how useful the Extra is, now she knows why despite being weaker than a stick bug, Erza still cherishes him more than many others in the guild.
"I'm making a protective field this should keep us hidden from any outsider, this way almost nothing can attack us while we are asleep."
'Alright, I take it back. You are much more useful than you put on. I think I should just take you from Erza.' Mira thought, imagining the image of a crying Erza on her knees looking at Mira who is holding a leash that is connected to Fate's neck. The thought alone makes Mira chuckle darkly.
Fate's instinct after years of getting his ass kicked by Scathach, is telling him, Mira is planning something evil.
"Let's just get some rest." Fate said he didn't have the patience to deal with whatever Mira was planning right about now.
The next day, the Extra woke up somewhat annoyed feeling Mira inside his sleeping bag, her calm look and sleeping face would have been a beautiful sight, if it not for the fact that she lay on his right arm making him lose all feeling of that arm. One of her hands was somehow inside his shirt touching his body and she had her leg tangled with his, not to mention her thigh was touching a part that she shouldn't be touching.
'WTF is going on?' He thought to himself as he was pretty sure, Erza would take another one of his lives if she ever saw this. Using [Misdirection] he calmly slips off before Mira wakes up.
"Now then, what do we have here."
Fate turned his attention back to the cave seeing the place was completely clear, the Extra dismissed the barrier so the holy gas was still present making it somewhat hard for him to breathe but luckily he was somewhat used to the feeling.
Walking in deeper his eyes widen by the sight of what lay in front of him. A pedestal with a single shard on it behind it was a large stone tablet that seemed normal to those who didn't know any better but the Extra knew exactly what the stone tablet it just by its design.
"A fucking Hell Gate?"
