Fairy Tail Destiny

Chapter 300: Ch 300 : Illusion

"Where is this?"

Mira looked around the room before her, a faint trace of confusion in her eyes.

It was a room with a distinctly classical style.

Inside was a large bed, a dressing table, and a wardrobe.

From any perspective, it looked like a perfectly normal woman's bedroom.

However, there were two things about the room that made Mira feel extremely out of place.

First, the room had two exits—without doors—leading to different passageways.

According to conventional architectural design, this shouldn't be a bedroom at all, but more like a living room.

The second thing was that the room was densely packed with all kinds of dolls, giving it a very strange atmosphere.

"What a unique room. The owner of this room must be a very cute person," Mira murmured, gently touching her cheek with her finger, a thoughtful expression on her face.

"Being complimented like that makes me happy, even if it wasn't your intention," a familiar and gentle female voice interrupted Mira's thoughts.

Mira looked up, and the figure of a blue-haired woman entered her vision.

This woman was extremely familiar to Mira—after all, it was this very girl who had completely defeated her on Tenrou Island.

"Fourth Throne, Stella." Mira bit her lip slightly as she spoke the name of the girl before her.

"It's been a long time, Demon Mirajane," Stella replied with a smile, completely ignoring Mira's serious expression.

"To be honest, I'm truly surprised to see you again. I originally thought that, apart from His Majesty Nord, everyone else would vanish into the dust of history along with Tenrou Island."

"Sorry to disappoint you," Mira said.

"No, no, that's not quite right," Stella shook her index finger, denying Mira's statement.

"Hope and disappointment only exist when you actually care about how something turns out. As for whether you lived or died, I never really cared, so there was no hope or disappointment to speak of."

"Is that the pride of a Demon God's Soul?"

"Hehe, an amusing way to put it—mostly correct," Stella said, raising her arm as a mesmerizing light shimmered at her fingertips. It was a special kind of magic.

A flicker of curiosity flashed through her eyes as she continued, "But I won't deny it. After learning you all survived, I did become just a little curious. I'm particularly interested in how you managed to escape from that Tsukiyo… I'm very curious indeed."

"[Full Body Takeover: Satan Soul – Sitri!]"

Sensing the faint killing intent hidden in Stella's words, Mira didn't hesitate for a second.

She activated her magic immediately, choosing to transform.

Fully aware of Stella's terrifying strength, she started off with her strongest form of Satan Soul.

"[Dark Spark]!"

A barrage of black spark blasts surged from Mira's hands, pouring toward Stella like a storm of black fury, relentless and violent.

Despite the onslaught, the corners of Stella's mouth remained slightly upturned—completely unfazed.

As the black flashes of darkness closed in, she finally whispered two words: "[Delusion]."

Stella vanished—just like that—as if she had never been there.

Mira's dark blasts struck only empty air, crashing against the wall behind with a flurry of crackling explosions.

"With your power, you'll never be able to stand against me. I thought you would've realized that back on Tenrou Island," Stella's calm voice sounded behind Mira.

Turning around, Mira saw her—leaning casually against the wall, smiling.

"That may not be true," Mira replied, taking a steady breath.

"After our fight on Tenrou Island, I spent a long time seriously thinking about it—how I could possibly stand a chance if I had to face you again."

"Chance of victory?" Stella tilted her head slightly.

"To think you'd consider something so boring. You still haven't given up on defeating me?"

"That's right. And because of that, I discovered the secret behind your magic," Mira replied.

With a sweep of her demonic wings, she dove forward, her hands coated in black magic, claws of a demon slashing straight toward Stella.

But Stella's figure flickered—her graceful body danced like a butterfly, easily dodging the assault.

As Mira paused her offensive, she looked at the calm expression on Stella's face and said, "I spent a long time reflecting on our previous battle and noticed a few things that made me suspicious. First—if your attacks were really that powerful back then, why was there so little actual damage to the area we fought in? Second—if you were truly all-powerful, why didn't you just kill me outright? Why use that sneaky attack from behind to end the fight?"

"And so?" Stella's expression didn't change, her tone indifferent.

"My conclusion is this: your magic isn't really 'all-powerful' like you claimed. You just used some method to make it seem like you could do anything. After that fight, I went through a lot of books and research—and I discovered that the nature of your magic matches closely with one particular type."

Mira looked at Stella and said softly, "It's illusion magic."

Clap, clap.

Stella raised her hands and gave a gentle applause, a faint smile of approval appearing on her face.

"I'm truly impressed you managed to investigate that far. But that alone is still far from enough, Demon."

"I know. Your magic is far beyond ordinary illusion magic," Mira's expression didn't relax in the slightest—on the contrary, it grew even more serious.

"As the Fourth Throne of the Demon God's Soul, your magic is definitely no simple thing. It might even be beyond my understanding. But I won't give up so easily. In this battle, I'm staking my life to fight you."

"As expected, choosing you was the right decision," Stella's eyes curved into crescents as she smiled.

"You continue to surprise me, Demon Mirajane."

...............

At the top of the clock tower in Crocus, Fairy Tail's first Guild Master, Mavis, sat on the railing of the belfry, her gaze fixed in the distance—on the Dark Demon Castle in the heart of the Mercurius Palace, and the ever-thickening black aura swirling above it.

She then turned her eyes toward Crocus itself, now shrouded in fire and blood, and let out a faint sigh.

"So it's finally beginning... The fate of the world will be decided in this battle. Will it be the end brought by darkness, followed by the birth of a new world—or will the light prevail, guiding the world toward a new future?" In Mavis's eyes was a deep, wistful sorrow.

"All I can do... is remain here, and witness the march of fate."
