Chapter 100: FTRJ: Chapter 100
"The job, of course, is best completed as quickly as possible."
"Speaking of which, wouldn't defeating all of you earn a lot of money?"
"Zzzz…"
The voices of Oración Seis echoed, their supremely condescending tone enraging everyone present.
Erza's expression turned serious. "I never expected you to show yourselves so readily."
Natsu's knuckles cracked as he clenched his fists. "Hey…"
Gray's clothes vanished instantly. "I know!"
Natsu and Gray exchanged a look; they seemed to understand each other perfectly.
"This saves us the trouble of searching!" The same words echoed from both of their mouths simultaneously, showcasing their remarkable synergy as they charged forward at the same moment.
Brain's face remained impassive. "Eliminate them."
"OK," Racer replied, his figure vanishing instantly.
Despite the initial distance, Racer appeared behind Natsu and Gray almost instantaneously.
"?!" Natsu's eyes widened in shock.
"So fast…" Gray could only manage a gasp of astonishment before the immense force of Racer's attack sent him and Natsu flying in opposite directions.
"Sherria!" Lyon shouted, rushing towards Sherria to protect her.
Hoteye opened his eyes, unleashing a surge of powerful magic. "As long as there's money, love is unnecessary, right?" he said, his words nonsensical. He extended a finger, and a magic circle flashed.
The previously solid ground suddenly became soft and yielding, transforming into a swamp-like quagmire that ensnared Sherria and Lyon.
An even more violent surge of magic erupted, and the earth rose up like a tidal wave, engulfing the pair.
"Ugh!" Ren, who had been running towards Oración Seis, was instantly struck by a powerful blow.
"Ren~" Eve cried out, but Racer appeared before him, delivering a powerful kick that sent Eve flying backwards.
Hibiki, noticing the trouble behind him, tried to provide support, but Racer was already before him, his hands braced against the ground as he unleashed a devastating kick that sent Hibiki sprawling to the ground.
"So fast… too fast to see…" Hibiki could only manage a gasp of awe before collapsing.
"Damn it!" Erza slashed through Brain's magic, but within mere seconds, seven of their allies had fallen.
Erza gritted her teeth. "Change! Heaven Real Armor!" Silver armor encased her, steel wings sprouting from her back as she launched herself into the air.
"Heaven Real: Raging Sword!" Magical swords materialized behind Erza, descending like a rain of blades upon the remaining members of Oración Seis.
"What?!" Erza cried out in surprise as the ground beneath her instantly softened, extending upwards towards Oración Seis, the softened earth effortlessly deflecting the rain of swords.
Sensing movement behind her, Erza spun around with lightning-fast reflexes, using her sword to block Racer's kick.
"Erza!" Lucy cried out in worry, but then noticed something amiss. Turning her head, she saw an exact replica of herself standing beside her.
"Idiot!" Before Lucy could react, the fake Lucy whipped out a whip and sent Lucy flying.
From the very beginning, the battle had tilted heavily in Oración Seis's favor.
Meanwhile, the flames from the explosion finally subsided, leaving behind a massive crater.
In a nearby clearing, Finn set down Wendy and Carla, who was still clutching her ears and tightly closing her eyes.
Only after sensing the return of calm did she slowly lower her hands. Upon seeing the enormous crater before her, Wendy's eyes widened in shock.
Carla, still shaken, looked at the Christina, which was once again beginning to accumulate magical energy in its cannons. "That's on our side, right? Why would it attack us?!"
Finn's expression turned serious. "I'm afraid Ichiya's side has been compromised. The people controlling the Christina are likely not on our side anymore."
Looking at the Christina, accumulating energy, Finn turned to Wendy and Carla. "You two need to find somewhere to hide."
"What about you, Finn?" Wendy asked worriedly.
"You don't intend to stop the magic bombardment ship, do you?!" Carla seemed to have guessed his intentions.
"I have to. It can't keep firing at us," Finn said, drawing his sword.
"Stay far away." With that, Finn turned and charged forward.
Carla watched Finn's back, unable to imagine how he planned to destroy the Christina.
"What incredible confidence!" she murmured in awe.
Magical energy continued to accumulate in the Christina's cannons; photons of magical energy were already visible at the muzzle.
Finn, moving swiftly, felt he was close enough. He planted his foot heavily on the ground, the immense force causing cracks to spiderweb across the earth. Red light pulsed from the cracks.
Then came a terrifying eruption of flame, like an explosion at Finn's feet. The force of the blast, combined with the propulsive force of the flames, propelled Finn upwards at an incredible speed.
Aboard the Christina, a bald man stared in horror at the crimson inferno erupting below, shouting, "Look! What is that?!"
"That's the Ten Wizard Saint, Finn! Turn the cannons and shoot him down!" someone ordered.
"Too fast! We can't react!" the bald man yelled.
Before they could react, Finn reached the Christina.
Flames blazed in his eyes. "All things, reduced to ashes. Raging Fire!"
"BOOM————"
Flames erupted, engulfing the surrounding area in a fiery red light. The surrounding forest was ignited, and intense heat swept across the landscape.
The Christina was engulfed in flames; explosions and screams erupted from within the fiery inferno.
The destroyed Christina was slowly falling. Finn deactivated his Shikai; prolonged use in this forest would burn it all down.
"BOOM————"
The falling Christina exploded.
"Amazing!!" Wendy, hiding behind a large rock, covered her ears in awe, her large eyes filled with admiration as she gazed at Finn's fiery silhouette.
"That man… just like the legends say… he's no longer human. He's a monster!" Carla, her usually serious expression replaced with astonishment, commented.
Unlike Wendy, who was less informed about the outside world, Carla clearly understood the significance of the magic bombardment ship and what it meant for Finn to have destroyed such a colossal weapon with a single strike. It was beyond human capabilities.
Once everything was settled, Finn approached Wendy. "Let's go. Erza and the others seem to be fighting." He looked towards Erza's group with concern. The magical energy fluctuations there were extremely intense.
Wendy nodded and followed Finn.
Unseen by Finn, in the wreckage of the Christina, a purple snake, its body scorched, struggled to push aside the debris, revealing Cobra, unconscious beneath.
The purple snake flicked its tongue and nudged Cobra's body.
Sensing the snake's movement, Cobra slowly opened his eyes. Seeing the snake, he breathed a sigh of relief.
He gently stroked the snake's head. "I'm sorry… I dragged you into this… I heard his plan… but…" Cobra's voice trailed off.
"But I never imagined that guy's flames would be so massive… there wasn't time to escape." Fear was evident in Cobra's eyes.
He had been inside the Christina. Upon realizing Finn's intentions, he'd tried to escape, but he hadn't anticipated the sheer scale of the flames.
Even a seer couldn't have avoided them. Even the magic bombardment ship couldn't withstand them; how could his physical body have possibly survived?
However, Cobra felt a glimmer of relief. Thankfully, the flames hadn't lasted long, and thankfully, he'd escaped the epicenter of the explosion. That's how he survived.
The snake continued to nuzzle Cobra, its eyes seeming to convey reassurance.
Cobra smiled, struggling to his feet and heading deeper into the forest. At that moment, he only wanted to get away from Finn, away from those terrifying flames.
Meanwhile, watching the Christina engulfed in flames, Gray, who had fallen to the ground, slowly got to his feet. "Those flames… were they Finn's…?"
"Looks like Finn's run into trouble!" He surveyed the surroundings; most of their allies were down. In the distance, Erza was battling Racer. She was wearing the incredibly fast Flying Armor, matching Racer blow for blow.
Suddenly, Gray's eyes widened as he seemed to notice something in Racer's movements. Before he could utter a word, however, the earth beneath him began to churn violently, tossing him into the air.
"Ugh~~" Gray let out a pained groan as he was swallowed by the earth.
Hoteye, clutching his book, pointed a single finger at Gray, his words cryptic and unsettling. "Money makes you stronger, right!"
"The Fairy Queen truly lives up to her reputation! So fast… but speed is a good thing!" Racer, dodging Erza's attacks, glanced back with a smirk.
That smirk sent a chill down Erza's spine.
Sure enough, Racer's speed increased dramatically, vanishing from Erza's sight in an instant. As Racer disappeared, Erza saw a dark green magical beam hurtling towards her, and below, Brain stood with his skull-topped cane.
"Dark Capriccio!" Brain murmured.
"Aaah!!" Erza had no time to react and was struck directly by the spell, crying out in pain.
"That hurt like hell! What are those shoes made of?!" Natsu, having just been kicked away, struggled to his feet, only to freeze upon seeing the figure before him—the sleeping Midnight.
"You're fighting, and you're sleeping?! Get up!" Feeling deeply insulted, Natsu took a deep breath, gathering magical energy in his mouth.
"Dragon's Roar!" A fiery red magic circle unfolded before Natsu, and a torrent of flames erupted, heading straight for the sleeping Midnight.
But Natsu's flames seemed to be acting erratically, veering off course just before reaching Midnight and exploding in an empty space.
"What? What just happened?" Natsu's eyes widened in disbelief, utterly baffled by the situation.
"My magic… it didn't hit him?" He looked at his hands in disbelief.
"Stop it!" Racer instantly appeared behind Natsu, delivering another powerful kick to his abdomen, sending Natsu reeling.
His body uncontrollably flew backwards, only to be met with another powerful blow to his back, as Racer's figure appeared in every direction, relentlessly pummeling Natsu with a flurry of kicks.
"Waking Midnight is dangerous," Racer said, finishing with a final, devastating kick to Natsu's abdomen, sending him flying.
Natsu tumbled to the ground, using his hands to brace himself as he attempted to get back on his feet.
"Natsu~" Happy, unable to fight, rushed to Natsu's side, wanting to help him up.
