Fairy Tail: Igneel's eldest son in Anime Multiverse

Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Liberation (Bonus Chapter 5)

Charles had laid all his cards on the table, unleashing the full extent of his power, and the Fallen Fairy went completely mad in response.

In just a few seconds, it cast Earth Lance, Thunder Spear, and Ice Spike—three short-verse spells in rapid succession.

As the barrage rained down, Charles dropped to the ground and shouted:

"Flame Dragon Roar!"

A glowing magic circle resembling molten lava spread open, releasing a massive column of fire that incinerated the earth lances, lightning spears, and ice spikes in one sweep—then crashed down directly onto the Fallen Fairy.

She raised six petal-like limbs resembling arms to block the incoming inferno.

The flame shattered those defenses, burning through them to strike her body directly.

When the flames faded, the Fallen Fairy's body was revealed, scorched and mangled—half of her once-beautiful face burned away.

But even the white-haired specter who inherited the Fallen Fairy's power had self-healing capabilities—this clone was no exception.

The charred wounds and blackened skin rapidly regenerated. Her long green hair returned to its original length and luster in the blink of an eye.

Charles had still underestimated her defenses. Even his Flame Dragon Roar wasn't enough to finish her.

With a banshee's shriek, the Fallen Fairy cried out, and the remaining monsters below began to rampage.

Though her previous long-verse spells and Charles's attacks had already wiped out the majority of her forces, hordes of monsters still remained.

That was part of what made the Fallen Fairy so troublesome—she was shielded by a monstrous army that made it nearly impossible to approach her directly.

A giant blossom lunged at Charles like a giant swatter.

Charles cleaved through it with a single swing, then raised his blade to deflect another beam of light fired by the Fallen Fairy.

As he parried the beam, he looked up—countless sharp ice spikes were emerging from the magical circles behind the Fallen Fairy's open arms.

He soared into the air, dodging and weaving through the storm of incoming spikes while searching for an opening.

The Fallen Fairy's gaze tracked his every movement, trying in vain to keep up with his speed. All she did was expose more of her own vulnerabilities.

Charles didn't take advantage of her blind spots. Instead, he charged straight at her from the front.

The ice spikes shattered against him as he burst through, appearing before the Fallen Fairy in an instant.

A panicked expression flashed across her face as he closed in.

Out of context, the scene looked like a blazing red demon closing in on a defenseless maiden. But when Charles got close, the panic vanished—replaced by a smile.

She opened her mouth, revealing a magical circle rotating on her tongue.

Somehow, she had held a spell in reserve until now, waiting to release it at this very moment.

And at this distance, not even Charles could dodge.

Even twisted into a monstrous form, the creature retained a brilliant intellect. Knowing she couldn't match his speed, she had abandoned defense and laid a trap instead.

She correctly predicted he'd breach her defenses and appear before her—and waited with this trap.

It was a critical situation for Charles, but he didn't panic.

"Mana Domain—Dragon's Lair!"

The Fallen Fairy's pupils contracted. To her, it felt as if a gigantic beast was roaring directly into her soul. Her mind went blank. She barely retained consciousness thanks to her immense willpower.

More importantly, the spell she had stored destabilized.

The magic circle cracked. The accumulated mana dispersed in an instant.

Charles stepped forward and brought his greatsword down vertically, slicing the fairy's humanoid body clean in two.

But before he could exhale in relief, the monstrous mass beneath him let out a deafening roar.

Fallen Fairies, like all monsters, had only one weak point—the magic stone.

Charles had assumed hers was in the humanoid body. He was wrong.

The pulsing, regenerating biomass began knitting itself back together.

Charles leapt high into the air.

"Far, everything into this strike!"

His form, now pure magical energy, gleamed brightly in the gloom.

"Dragon Slayer Secret Art—Unknown Fire Style: Crimson Phoenix Blade!"

His wings of flame flared wide as he flipped in midair and dove toward the mass below.

A trail of fire followed in his descent, forming a massive sword-shaped blaze—a holy blade of purification—hurtling downward.

It pierced straight through the creature, splitting even the tangle of vines at its base.

Charles landed, turning slowly to look behind him.

Flames surged skyward. The image of a girl emerged within them.

As if purified by fire, the grotesque hues of her form began to fade. But so too did her physical body begin to vanish.

A serene smile crossed her face.

"Such warm fire…"

In the world of Black Clover, when a mage and elemental spirit reach perfect harmony, they attain a realm known as the Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary had the power to purify even devils from another world. Charles and Far had long since reached this domain.

What Charles hadn't expected was that this power could also return a corrupted fairy to clarity.

Far emerged from Charles's body and settled on his shoulder as usual.

The now-transparent fairy floated closer.

"Thank you, unknown kin… and you, human boy who fought beside them. Thank you for awakening me from the nightmare."

She cupped Charles's face gently and kissed his forehead.

A tiny mark shimmered briefly at the center of his brow, then vanished.

"This is my gift to you. May your life be filled with glory and ascension."

Charles touched his forehead, unsure of what gift she had left him.

The fairy's body began to fragment into light.

"Boy… and my unknown kin… you must be careful. The root of the corruption lies deeper within the dungeon.

It is He who devoured our power… He who twisted us into Fallen beings.

I hope that one day… you'll bring release to those like me…"

And with that, she dissolved completely, vanishing into the air like fireflies.

Charles watched the lights float upward and sighed.

Whether it was Uranos who knew the truth, or all of Orario, or even Zeus who had long departed the city—everyone was waiting for a hero to emerge.

A hero who would one day defeat the One-Eyed Black Dragon, reach the dungeon's deepest floor, and etch their legend into eternal history.

And now, the Fallen Fairy's secret would also become part of that story.

"I'm sorry… but I'm not the hero you're all waiting for.

But the seed of that hero has already sprouted in this era.

He will grow quickly—and fulfill everyone's hopes."

Without lingering, Charles turned and began walking toward the exit.
