Fairy Tail: My Magic is the Sun

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Black Dragon Acnologia

The Life Prohibited Zone, once bathed in the long-awaited light of the sun, was swallowed whole again—this time by a far more dreadful darkness.

Acnologia, the Black Dragon, the Dragon King, the very embodiment of calamity, had arrived.

His colossal form blotted out the sky, dark wings spreading like an endless storm. His roar shattered the heavens, a cataclysmic shockwave that hurled everyone—except Escanor—into chaos. Trees uprooted, rocks shattered, and the very earth beneath Escanor's feet cracked and peeled away like paper.

Ants. That's what Acnologia saw in all living things. Mere insignificant insects—especially this blazing ant who dared to challenge him.

"You think you can slay me? Foolish arrogance."

Escanor responded with a sunfire ball, hotter and larger than ever before, a blazing orb of pure solar wrath. Acnologia, prideful and unyielding, met the attack head-on without so much as a flinch.

But the explosion rocked the land, blasting the dragon backward into the earth, carving a massive crater shaped like a dragon's maw.

Damn ant! Acnologia's fury surged. Tail whipping like a thunderclap, he struck Escanor with devastating force, sending the golden warrior crashing through stone and rubble.

Escanor coughed, grimacing at the surprise sneak attack—but he was far from defeated.

With Rhitta in hand, Escanor unleashed Extreme Dust Slash—an unrelenting storm of axe shadows tearing through the air. Sparks flew against Acnologia's impenetrable scales, each strike paining the dragon, stoking his fury further.

Acnologia soared into the sky, mouth aglow with destructive dark magic.

"Black Dragon's Roar!"

A torrent of infernal black flames erupted, threatening to consume the entire Life Prohibited Zone.

Escanor planted his feet, summoning golden flames from the earth itself.

"God Breath Cannon!"

The two powers collided with the force of a nuclear explosion, shaking mountains and triggering tremors felt miles away. In a northern tavern, the bartender clung to a pillar, gasping, "Is the end of the world coming?!"

The battle turned brutal—claws and fists meeting in raw, titanic force. Escanor grew ever larger, embodying the Sun Magic: Giant True Form, standing equal in stature to the monstrous dragon. He locked his arms around Acnologia's neck and hurled him across the scorched battlefield.

Acnologia recovered quickly, snaring Escanor's foot with his tail and slamming him down. His claws pressed to Escanor's chest—sharp enough to pierce flesh—only to be repelled by bursting solar flames that seared the dragon's flesh.

Hours turned into a day-long war. Each strike fractured the earth; each breath of magic reshaped the landscape. Gildarts watched from a safe distance, witnessing the fiercest fight the magic world had ever seen.

The Council, alerted by the chaos, evacuated the region and sent elite forces to guard the perimeter. Their elders watched through enchanted crystals, voices hushed with awe and skepticism.

"A Fairy Tail mage... strong enough to challenge the Black Dragon? Impossible."

Yet none could deny the blazing light that refused to falter.

After a brief lull, Acnologia fixed his burning gaze on Escanor.

"What is your name, human?"

"Escanor. The strongest among living beings."

The dragon laughed, wild and harsh.

"The apex of all life? Then come—let our final struggle begin."

Dark magic swirled violently, the Dark Devour enveloping Escanor, promising to consume him whole.

But from within the suffocating shadows, cracks of golden light burst forth, shattering the darkness.

"Who decides if darkness can devour me?" Escanor declared, radiant and unyielding.

Behind him, a blazing solar phantom crowned with a golden ring rose.

"Heaven and Earth, I alone am the Honored One. Extreme."

Acnologia's confident advance faltered. Fear—an alien sensation—crept into the Black Dragon's heart.

"Black Dragon's Roar!"

Escanor's right hand morphed into a radiant blade.

"Holy Sword, Escanor!"

The black flame was cleaved in two, a searing slash severing one of Acnologia's mighty wings.

Spectators gasped. The impossible had happened.

With one wing lost, the Black Dragon fled toward the horizon. His magic still pulsed strong—he would recover.

But Escanor was relentless:

"Holy Spear Escanor!"

A spear forged of golden light pierced through space and flesh, wounding the dragon grievously.

"Your calamity ends here, Acnologia!"

Suddenly, the sky cracked like shattered glass. A colossal red hand surged through the rift, seizing Acnologia and dragging him away.

Time slowed—everyone was stunned.

"How dare you steal my prey!"

Escanor's fist erupted into a massive hand of divine fire, slamming into the intruder's grasp with crushing force.

From the crack, a pair of burning blood-red eyes glared with hatred.

Before anyone could react further, the rift sealed—leaving behind a battered, near-death Acnologia and a mystery deeper than the void itself.

Who was the unknown figure that dared to challenge Escanor's wrath—and save the Dragon King?

The battle was far from over.

To be continued...
