Chapter 14: Chapter 14
In the darkness of the dock, Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi watched cautiously from a well-protected hiding place. His carefully chosen position was reinforced by a magical barrier that concealed his presence from detection. All around him, the night was alive with unspoken tensions and calculating glances.
None of the masters present knew the true identity of the opposing Servant. Saber and Lancer were merely names that described their kind, leaving everyone uncertain of their abilities and strategies. This ambiguity, for Kayneth, was a tactical advantage he was not willing to waste.
On the heights of a nearby building, Kiritsugu Emiya had also secured his position. With his long-range rifle and surveillance equipment, he was analyzing every detail of the confrontation. A short distance away, on the opposite side of the pier, Maiya watched with equal attention, expanding the field of view to ensure that no detail escaped her trained eyes.
"Too many variables," Kiritsugu thought as he adjusted his visor lens.
"Lancer's identity remains a mystery, but Saber is in an unfavorable position without knowing her opponent's capabilities."
In the center of the dock, Hector of Troy and Saber were about to face each other in earnest. The tension in the air was palpable, and the other masters watching from their own positions found themselves holding their breath. Hector swung his spear with ease, his relaxed attitude contrasting with the firm determination in Saber's stance.
"Well, it's about time to stop playing games!" said Hector with a grin.
"Let's see if you can keep up with me, knight"
Arturia didn't respond with words. Instead, he advanced with lightning speed, his sword wrapped in Invisible Air tracing a clean arc toward Hector's torso.
The Trojan warrior sidestepped in one graceful motion, spinning on himself and counterattacking with a sideways thrust of his spear. The metal cut the air, but Saber blocked the attack with impeccable precision. The impact echoed in the night, sending a shockwave that vibrated the nearby water.
The fight had begun.
Hector moved with the grace of a seasoned veteran, each attack and dodge flowing naturally. His spear was a whirlwind of movement, alternating between precise attacks and deceptive feints. For her part, Arturia displayed her unparalleled swordsmanship. His movements were a mixture of strength and elegance, each strike directed with lethal intent.
The exchange of attacks increased in intensity. Hector launched a downward strike with his spear, only for Saber to deflect it with a swing of her sword. She responded with a horizontal slash that forced Hector back, but the Trojan used the momentum to launch his spear as a projectile straight at his opponent.
Arturia narrowly dodged, the spear passing mere inches from his face before embedding itself in the ground. Without missing a beat, Hector retrieved his weapon with a jerk and lunged forward again.
"Not bad, gentleman! Not bad! But how long can you keep up this pace?" commented Hector with an almost playful tone, though his eyes were focused and alert.
Arturia kept her composure, responding with a series of quick strikes that Hector barely managed to block. Each time his invisible sword connected with the spear, sparks flew, briefly illuminating the scene.
High above, Kiritsugu watched silently, impressed despite himself.
"The level of these two... it's unlike anything I've seen before," he muttered, adjusting his visor to analyze Lancer's movements.
"That carefree style is a farce. Every move is calculated. But Saber is no slouch"
The other masters were also engrossed in the fight. Even Kayneth, for all his arrogance, could not help but be impressed by Hector's ferocity and precision.
On the dock, the battle reached a climax. Hector used his spear to create a sweeping sweep that forced Saber to jump backwards. Seizing the moment, he spun on himself and threw a direct blow to the ground, creating a shockwave that staggered his opponent.
"That's it!" exclaimed Hector enthusiastically, his grin widening.
"Let's see if you can top this, gentleman!"
Saber landed gracefully, adjusting her stance before charging again. Her sword, still invisible, sliced through the air with deadly precision, aiming directly at the weak point in Hector's defense. The impact was monumental, forcing both combatants to separate momentarily.
The pause was brief, but enough for all observers to understand that they were witnessing something extraordinary. A fight that defied expectations and showed the true power of history's heroes.
Edmund, from his hotel suite, smiled as he watched the reaction of the masters.
Hector of Troy swung his spear deftly while keeping a slight smile on his face. His armor gleamed in the light of the dock's street lamps, and though a light sweat ran down his forehead, his carefree attitude remained intact.
"Mmm, that sword is kind of interesting" he thought as he dodged another attack from Saber. His opponent's invisible sword was a technical challenge. He couldn't calculate its exact length or thickness, but each impact gave him subtle clues as to its true nature.
Saber advanced with relentless ferocity, launching a series of precise blows that seemed destined to overcome Hector's defense. Her posture was impeccable, and her movements, a dance of strength and grace. Hector, for his part, defended himself with a mixture of skill and experience, deflecting the attacks with his spear as he stepped back to keep his distance.
"You're fast, knight!" commented Hector with a soft laugh as he deflected a particularly strong blow. His spear traced a wide arc, forcing Saber back for an instant.
Saber didn't miss a beat. She pressed the attack with a side sweep, forcing Hector to block with both hands. Although he managed to parry the blow, the impact echoed throughout the dock, causing a slight tremor in the ground.
Finally, Arturia stepped back slightly, halting his offensive momentarily. His breathing was steady, but his eyes flashed with determination as he assessed his opponent.
"You are skilled, Lancer" he admitted in a neutral tone, though his respect for his opponent's abilities was evident.
"Your techniques are different from those I have faced before"
Hector bowed his head slightly, as if accepting a compliment from a close friend.
"Thank you, gentleman! It's always a pleasure to face someone as talented as you. But, you know, one is only as good as the job one has to do. A warrior's life is never simple, don't you think?" he said with a smile that mixed exhaustion and sincerity, as if he was remembering the burdens of his own history.
Saber nodded slightly, recognizing the truth in his words. But there was no time for philosophizing. Hector sighed, adjusted his stance and swung his spear with renewed energy.
"Well, let's get back to work, shall we?" he said before launching into the attack again.
This time, the pace of the fight increased dramatically. Hector attacked with a ferocity that belied his relaxed attitude, his spear moving like a whirlwind of steel. Each blow, each movement, was designed to destabilize Saber and keep her on the defensive.
Saber felt the pressure of the attack. Although she managed to block and deflect most of the blows, each impact was more powerful than the last. At times, it felt like Hector was toying with her, but there was deadly precision in his every move.
"Don't take it personally, gentleman! But if I don't give it my all, my Master will probably lecture me later!" he joked as he launched a downward strike that Saber barely managed to block in time.
Arturia did not respond. Instead, she retreated and adopted a defensive stance, waiting for the right moment to counterattack. Although the pressure of Hector's attacks was overwhelming, her mind remained focused.
Meanwhile, in his hotel suite, Edmund watched the battle intently. He was submerged in his bathtub, the steam from the hot water enveloping his face as he held a glass of wine in his hand. The screens in front of him showed every detail of the fight, and a faint smile played on his lips.
"Fascinating" he muttered to himself, taking a sip from his glass.
"The location is the same as in the original story, but Lancer's change makes all the difference. Hector doesn't respect that code of honor Saber so strongly advocates, though she doesn't know it yet"
Edmund set the cup aside and closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the warmth of the water as he remained attentive to the battle. He knew that the real Holy Grail War was as much a game of powers as it was of personalities, and he was delighted to witness every variation in the unfolding of events.
On the dock, the fighting continued to intensify. Hector was attacking with renewed vigor, his spear tracing brilliant arcs that cut through the air and shook the ground with each impact. Saber, though under pressure, stood firm, her movements calculated and precise as she searched for an opening to launch a decisive counterattack.
The observers, both masters and hidden servants, were absorbed in the battle. It was a confrontation that showcased not only skill, but also the clash of philosophies and fighting styles.
Edmund, from his oasis of calm, smiled again.
"This is just beginning," he said quietly, his tone full of anticipation.
"The true denouement is still far from decided."
................
Hector is very underestimated, being a strategist and warrior in the Trojan War, only Hector was able to last 10 years, until Achilles challenged him to a duel to the death, in which there was only a slight difference in skills. Well, Hector doesn't have armor that covers his entire body as such, but the one on his arm I count as one, hahaha I don't know what it's called so I'll just say "armor."
Hector, a great hero, who killed many Greek heroes and who is also a coward at times that do not favor him (according to Fate Go) but even with all that, he is a servant with decent statistics, comparing himself to Achilles. in parameters. , well almost comparing hehehe
