Fate/DC Universe

Chapter 7: Relaxing time and a small accident

Awakening from an unexpected slumber, Raiden groaned, "Ughh... my head is spinning." Finding himself in an unfamiliar room, he recalled his situation, saying, "Right, the team. I didn't even get a tour of this place. System, can you explain what happened again?"

(The host wished to expedite the cooldown, so the system complied. The cooldown can be halved if the host ceases all other mental activities.)

"Alright... well, don't do that again unless I request it, okay? Five years of a coma were enough sleep."

(Host commands accepted.)

Rising from the bed, Raiden ventured outside, discovering a tastefully decorated hallway filled with various rooms. He mused, "So, this is like a dorm room, eh? Nice. Does that mean I can put wallpapers on the wall? A big Ishtar Wallpaper would be perfect for this place... Wait? I probably won't find any Fate media in this world. From what I could gather, this must be that one special Earth from, the Young Justice show or something. I have no idea about this world. I wasn't a fan of DC... nor Marvel, for that matter. I enjoyed some superhero movies, but, well, they got...too 'Marvely.'"

At the end of the hallway, Raiden stumbled upon an open room, where Megan, Artemis, and Conner were engaged in various activities. Conner sat at the table reading the news from a tv like projector on the table, while Megan and Artemis were busy with cooking something in the kitchen.

"Oh, hey, you're up! We got worried about you, but Batman said you were fine and that it's some sort of side effect. I hope it wasn't too bad," Megan greeted Raiden.

"Good afternoon, well, it's actually dinner time, or maybe good night is more appropriate, but that's usually for sleeping," Conner pondered the semantics.

"Just say good afternoon, Conner. Don't make us look like weirdos," Artemis chided with a playful tone.

Raiden reassured them, "Don't worry about it; it's like a cooldown every time I use my power."

Megan offered him a plate of lasagna, and Raiden exclaimed, "Oh, thank you! I haven't eaten since... Wait... I haven't eaten in five YEARS! Those bastards in the Justice League didn't even give me dinner last night!"

Artemis was shocked, "That's actually crazy, you haven't eaten in five years?"

"How did you survive?" Conner inquired.

Raiden replied, "Well, I don't know. Apparently, my body is entirely self-sufficient or something."

Megan asked excitedly, "Whoa, does that mean you're immortal?"

Raiden chuckled, "I guess? I don't know. I'd have to die first, and I'm not exactly willing to give that a try. I can regenerate, though, very, very slowly."

"Hello, Megan! Of course, he wouldn't know. He was in a coma when he gained his powers," Artemis remarked.

"Actually, that's something I wanted to ask. Was it the same as mine? Are you a clone?" Conner inquired.

"Connor! Did you not read the briefing?" Artemis scolded him, offering a silent warning regarding his question, as she was aware of Raiden's background from reading the League's briefing.

"Uh, no, I'm a normal human, well, I was. Actually, I'm still considered human, right? My parents were murdered, and after that, I went into a coma. I had grandparents, but they both passed away while I was in the coma," Raiden explained in response to Conner's query.

Realizing he had touched on a sensitive topic, Conner quickly apologized, "Sorry for bringing that up."

"Don't worry about it. We're going to be a team from now on, and I'm going to be trusting you with my life. It's better if you know more about me," Raiden said, encouraging more questions. He realized that the team would be his home for a while, so trust was essential. 'Besides, it's not like I have any secrets; my power allows me to be unpredictable. Not even Batman can come up with a contingency plan. Hell, I don't even know half the servants I can summon.'

"Since that's the case, we can talk about secrets too. I'm half Superman's clone and half human. My human side has Lex Luthor's DNA," Connor shared, attempting to bond with Raiden.

With a sense of urgency, Raiden abruptly inquired, "Did you just say Lex Luthor? The rich guy, the bald Bastard?"

"Uh, yes, you know him?" Connor asked.

"Do I know him? He's one of the main reasons I was kidnapped. That bastard was financing Ivo's experiments on me! He's second on my 'shit' list!" Raiden exclaimed angrily.

"It's difficult to pin anything on him, though. The League has been trying for years," Artemis mentioned.

(To pinpoint? That's not what I want. I want him to pay for his crimes with his life, but of course, I can't say that, thanks to that 'no-kill' policy. It's idiotic.)

Deciding to focus on his meal, Raiden began to eat. "HOLY!" He relished the food more than expected, finishing his plate and expressing his gratitude. "This was great; thanks, Megan, Artemis."

Megan kindly offered more food, to which Raiden enthusiastically responded, "Yes, please!"

After enjoying some more, Raiden finally asked, "So, where's everyone?"

Artemis provided an update, "With their families. Robin lives with Batman, Zatanna had a father, but she's living alone now after he was forced to become Dr. Fate's host. Wally is with his family, Kaldur went back to Atlantis for some kingdom 'business,' and Rocket has a family too."

Raiden playfully remarked, "Ah, I see, so we're the 'orphan' group."

Conner disclosed, "I have two fathers. Well, I'm a clone, but they are like fathers, I think."

Raiden lightened the mood, saying, "Very progressive, Connor. Okay, you're off the 'orphan' group."

Megan shared, "I have parents and more than 20 siblings on Mars."

Raiden joked, "Mars sounds like an awesomely underpopulated place."

Artemis opened up, "As for me, since we were on the topic of secrets and parents, let's mix them up. My mother is a former convict, while my father and sister are both active criminals."

Raiden praised her, saying, "Wow, that's actually a badass story. You managed to become not only a decent person but a hero while growing up in a criminal family. High respect from me."

Raiden's eyes widened with delight as he continued to eat, "OH, this is good! Wow, this is really good, thanks Megan, Artemis!"

Megan chuckled, "I spent years watching human cooking channels." She placed her hand on her hips and flexed a little.

After dinner and some casual chatting, Connor suggested, "Would you like to train a bit? Not sure how your body is after you passed out. Is it okay to train?"

Raiden agreed, "Yeah, no problem! I can train."

As they made their way to the training area, Megan inquired, "So, Raiden, can you use your power?"

Raiden nodded, saying, "Yup, here we go! Throne of Heroes!"

{Summoning Ceremony Initiated:

Servant Class: Assassin

Servant Tier: E

Servant Name: Mata Hari}

Raiden's body started glowing as he turned into what appears to be a woman in her late teens, she was wearing incredibly exotic and scantily clad dancer clothes he large breasts were covered with simple cloth same as her legs, only thing really covering anything was her panties

Connor was taken aback, "Oh, what?"

Raiden, now in his new form, mused, "Holy crap, I'm attractive! Wait, should I cover up?"

'Assassin-class Servant I go by the name of Mata Hari. Nice to meet you, Master !'

Megan rushed over to Connor, covering his eyes, and shouted, "Huh, Connor! Cover your eyes!"

Artemis echoed, "You too, Raiden!"

Raiden protested, "What? But it's my body, well, Mata Hari's, but—"

"NO, cover them!" Artemis insisted.

Raiden acquiesced, "Okay."

'Moo, did I cause Master trouble?'

Raiden comforted the Servant, "Oh no, it's not your fault! It's just that they're not used to my abilities."

Artemis, noticing Raiden's appearance, asked, "Raiden, why are you half-naked?"

Connor, curious, questioned Megan, "Can I see now?"

Both Megan and Artemis yelled in unison, "NO!"

Artemis quipped, "Glad Wally isn't here."

Raiden decided to end the transformation, "Hold on, I'll cancel the summoning."

With another bright flash of light, Raiden's body returned to its normal state.

Megan half angry half curious said"Raiden, explain!"

Raiden clarified, "There's nothing to explain. I just transformed into one of the Servan... Heroes, just like last time."

Artemis was puzzled, "What kind of hero dresses like THAT?"

Raiden enlightened them, "The femme fatale kind. I transformed into Mata Hari. She practically created the spy and exotic female genre, one of history's bravest spies."

Connor was still intrigued, "So you can transform into a woman?"

Raiden admitted, "Yeah, I guess I can. I was shocked too, you know."

Megan noticed something, "WAIT A MINUTE! Raiden, you didn't pass out!"

Raiden elaborated, "Oh yeah, that. It turns out that if I pass out, it halves the cooldown. But since Mata Hari was on the weak side, her cooldown is less than an hour."

Artemis let out a sigh, "That's good to know. You should refrain from passing out; it will hinder you in battle. But we should train now."

Connor inquired, "Without Raiden? He can't transform for an hour?"

Artemis explained, "That's for the better. While his ability is incredible and very powerful, Raiden needs to be able to survive even without his ability. What if he transforms into a very powerful Servant but fails to defeat the enemy before the transformation wears off? He could be exposed to danger."

Megan concurred, "I agree as well. I don't want to be a hindrance after my power wears off."

Artemis decided, "Okay then, let's start with basic CQC"

Raiden, still somewhat confused, asked, "CQC ? Close ? q... ? q... ? Quick ? Combat ?"

Artemis clarified, "Close Quarter Combat. You really are a novice, but that's fine. I'll train you well."

Raiden enthusiastically agreed, "Alright, let's get to it, then!"
