Chapter 23: Chapter 23: PvP; Cinder's Trap (Finale); Battle of Beacon part 1
Hey everyone, RoseSaiyan 2 here! I hope you guys enjoyed the last chapter! We had a little bit more development between Roy and Yang, which was good as well as getting clarity on just what was happening with Pyrrha. Because there's a drak elven soul inside of her now, what happens to Pyrrha will differ from the cannon story and what i've seen in other fanfics that keep her alive after the fall of Beacon. You may be asking "Does that mean he's going to have Pyrrha die like in the cannon story of Rwby?" No, not necessarily. What happens to Pyrrha in this story is just... a bit different from what anyone would've expected. It's a route that i'm not sure anyone has really ever taken before with her character. Once it happens, i think you guys will be surprised.
Anyways, because of what is happening within the story right now... the separate chapters for the pairings will have to wait a bit. There's a little bit too much happening right now in the plot of the story lol. That doesn't mean there won't be moments for each of the pairings to bond, because there will be. They're in the midst of a crisis, of course they'll bond as they're fighting for their lives essentially. Staying in that same vein, which pairings would you like to see?
1: Daikon x Weiss
2: Hailfire x Sun
3: Baron x Flare
4: Khanna x Mercury
5: Blake x Shallot
6: Jinjer x Zero
7: Giblet x Velvet
8: Scarlett x Yatsuhashi
9: Note x Beat
10: Sybyrh x Tarro
Or you can feel free to throw some alternate Male x Female pairings based on those characters at me. Just as long as they don't interfere with the main pairings already in place lol. This chapter will pick up where we left off , so i anticipate this chapter will be a bit of a doozy to write lolz.
Disclaimer: I don't own Dragon ball Super/Xenoverse, Black Clover, Rwby, or any of the said series characters. I only own the original characters that appear in this story and the overall plot of this story. Along with having permission from a friend to use 2 of his oc's (Tarro and Daikon) (ComparedDreadx/ComparedDread12).
Opening:
Opening theme: Bring Back by MADKID (Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 opening 1)
Visuals: Odyn, Ruby, and Mercury standing up as lightning strikes across a darkened sky, Yang in her room looking down until Roy puts a hand on her shoulder to comfort her, JNPR,and KDBNB watching the tournament match between Pyrrha and Penny. A transition of flames later, hundreds of Grimm are seen to be invading Vale. During the breakdown before the chorus each of the teams participating in the tournament are shown until a large airborne Grimm is shown in the sky above the city. When the Grimm is seen, dozens of golden pillars of light then erupt into the sky, lighting up the skyline of Vale. During the chorus, all of the teams are seen to be fighting off the Grimm, while Odyn and Ruby are fighting Cinder and Emerald. Ruby is pushed back while Odyn transforms and charges at Cinder again, while Cinder has power sweeling around her as she charged towards Odyn. Roy, Yang, and Blake are fighting off Adam, Tirion, and a rather familiar face that has black shadows covering his body. The final breakdown of the song ends with the image of Odyn and Cinder charging towards each other while the characters on their respective sides of the screen follow them to charge at each other.
Author's note: This will be the new opening for a few chapters, volume 4 has a different opening lol
Chapter 22: PvP; Cinder's Trap (Finale)
The scene opens right where last chapter left off, with Cinder being questioned by the Dark Elves who had trapped her inside of a magical barrier. Cinder silently cursed underneath her breath, she'd walked right into a trap that the elves had set with her specifically in mind. Furthermore, she now found herself suddenly restrained by glowing chains coming from the ground. She now was unable to move as elves interrogated her. This definitely wasn't part of her plan. She'd had been so careful and meticulous to avoid suspicion by them, so.. how was it that she still ended up getting caught by them? Sybyrh circled her, continuing with her questioning of the woman. She smiled, trying to play onthe emotions of the elves. Unfortunately, she didn't realize that opportunity was lost a long time agao.
"You don't think it's rather rude to be treating a student from another school like this?," Cinder asked with a small smile.
Sybyrh walked up to the woman and slapped her with her armored hand across the face in disgust.
"Cut the crap, you witch. We know you're no student! Don't think we weren't aware of your little charade of masquerading as a student from Haven academy when you are anything but that.," Sybyrh spat angrily.
Cinder frowned, these elves were smart.... a little too smart for her liking. Valvahdern then glared at her as he spoke.
"What did you bribe the master of Haven with? Riches? Fame? or.... a share in the spoils after Beacon Academy fell perhaps?,"Valvahdern asked.
The elves noticed Cinder tensed up when that was mentioned.
"Ah... hit the nail on the head, didn't I?," Valvahdern said continuing.
Cinder said nothing. These dark elves were far too smart. She had to do something about them before she could unveil her plan to the world... However, she did remember how absurdly strong they were in battle. So she couldn't do anyhting to them, yet anyways.
"Once I have what belongs to me, these elves will be of little consequence.," Cinder thought.
She'd keep the reason why she was after the Fall Maiden's power a secret, she didn't need the race that was perhaps the largest hindrance to her plans finding out. If they did somehow figure it out, it may become an even bigger issue then it was already.
The elves kept questioning her to no avail. Sybyrh sighed in resignation. If Cinder was going to not cooperate, they'd just have to do things the hard way. She looked to her brothers and towards Tarro.
"Val, Zero, Tarro, hold her right there.," Sybyrh said.
The three nodded as Valvahdern and Zero held Cinder in place with magic, while Tarro used his ki to hold the villainess in place. Cinder felt the chains tighten around her and she was now not able to move at all. Since she could no longer move and her power was sealed off, Cinder could do nothing to resist whatever the dark elf commander was about to do to her.
"Since you won't come clean verbally, I'll just have to ask your mind, Cinder.," Sybyrh said walking up to her.
Cinder's eyes widned. There's was no way she could read her mind. Then again... However, before Cinder could even mentally resist, Sybyrh was already inside of her mind. She placed her hand onto Cinder's face as she closed her eyes. Various images showed up in Sybyrh's mind. First was Cinder going into the basement beneath the school and stealing the rest of Amber's power for herself, then it cut to another image of all of the screens at Beacon turning red with a black queen chess piece, it then panned to the androids Atlas controlled for security purposes, the screens acting as their eyes turning red and attacking people, it panned to another image of Grimm attacking the city and the final image showed an enormous Dragon like Grimm atop Beacon's tower, Cinder next to it.
Sybyrh took her hand away from Cinder's face and stared at her for a moment. Cinder didn't like the look the dark elven maiden gave her, she knew something. Just what exactly did this dark elf see inside of her mind?
"I see... so that's what's going on. Val, Zero, Tarro, you can release her now.," Sybyrh said.
Tarro was confused.
"What the- let her go? Are you sure, Sy?," Tarro asked confused.
She nodded.
"Of course. I've learned what I needed to know.," Sybyrh replied.
The trio released her, much to Cinder's surprise.
"If you say so, Sy.," Tarro said.
Cinder looked back to her surprised, Sybyrh scowling at her.
"Well? Go on, get! Leave before I change my mind, witch.," Sybyrh said.
Cinder didn't need to be told twice and she quickly left, confused as to why her captors let her go suddenly. She had no idea of what the dark elves had found out though. Valvahdern looked to his sister.
"What did you find out, Sybyrh?," He asked.
She looked at him dryly.
"Really, Val? You saw the same thing I did, about what her plan is.,"Sybyrh said with an almost expressionless face.
Valvahdern laughed nervously as he put his hands up defensively.
"Y-yeah I saw! Don't be angry, I was just double checking that we saw the same thing.," He said.
Zero then spoke up to ease the tension between the two.
"Regardless, I believe we need to report this to their majesties. They'll decide from there what our next actions will be.," Zero said.
The group nodded in agreement and headed back towards where the King and Queen were staying to report to them.
Time skip: With Ozpin in his office...
The clanking of gears found over the Headmaster's office are heard in the background as Ozpin himself walked back to his desk. He poured himself a drink from his tea pot as he watched the Vytal Festival Tournament's roulette randomly select the next match. He then received a message from his guests that were staying in Vale for the Festival, these guests being Berethon and Hyatan, the High King and High Queen of the dark elven race. The message simply said "Our Enemy has made their move". He put a hand upon his chin in troubled thought.
"That is certainly worrying...," He thought.
Not only did they have Salem, her cohorts, and possibly the Grimm to deal with... but now there was a potential threat from the underworld as well? Talk about horrible timing. Only question was... where or rather when would they strike?
"Alright, it is now time to begin the randomization process for our next fight!," Oobleck announced over the broadcast.
"It looks like our first contender is... Penny Polendina from Atlas! And her opponent will be... Pyrrha Nikos, from Beacon!," Port announced.
Ozpin seats himself behind his desk, taking a sip from his cup of tea as he stares at the "randomized" fight that was about to take place.
with Pyrrha....
Down on the floor of the arena of Amity Colosseum, Pyrrha is still seen to be looking hesitant and a bit distracted while Penny politely salutes her opponent.
"Sal- u- tations, Pyrrha Nikos! It's an honor to finally meet you!,"Penny said with her hands on her hips.
The troubled Pyrrha doesn't even respond, instead opting to look at her hands and clench them in an attempt to seem determined. She was so troubled in fact, that she never noticed that Sarai, the dark elf soul inside of her, hadn't even spoken a word to her. Sarai knew Pyrrha was still upset and taking her apparent choice really hard, which is why she said nothing to her to give the girl some space. But the dark elf also knew that she couldn't continue to stay silent either, if Pyrrha noticed that, it hurt her even more thinking her one friend during this whole ordeal had abandoned her.
"Try not looking so tense, Pyrrha. It'll just make you worried about things you should focus on later.," Sarai said.
"Sarai?,"Pyrrha asked happy that the elf was still talking to her.
"Sorry for not saying anything for awhile, Pyrrha. I just... thought you needed some space to clear your mind. But, I realized that was hurting you alot more than it was helping you.," Sarai said.
"You mean... you're not going to ask about what happened with Jaune?," She asked.
"Considering that you don't want to talk about it, no. Like I told you before, Pyrrha. You and I are essentially one in the same. Your feelings are my own, and conversely, my feelings are your own since i'm dwelling inside of your body.," Sarai answered.
Pyrrha appreciated that Sarai understood her feelings at the moment. She then focused on the opponent in front of her.
"This is going to be so much fun!,"Penny said cheerfully and not noticing Pyrrha's reluctance.
With Ruby...
Ruby, Odyn, and Mercury ran down the hallway and towards the arena. The shorter and more petite girl still voicing her confusion at how Mercury was suddenly here and not injured.
"I still don't quite get it. Weren't you hurt, Mercury?," Ruby asked confused.
"I don't blame you for being confused there, Rose. The plan was pretty complicated.," Mercury said.
Odyn then spoke up.
"Like I said, little Rose, the whole thing with Mercury was nothing but a ruse.," Odyn said.
"A ruse?," She asked.
Mercury nodded.
"Yeah. It was a setup from the beginning that your boyfriend here, Roy, and Khanna came up with a few days ago.," Mercury answered.
"A setup? For who?,"Ruby asked innocently.
"It was for Cinder and... Emerald, who's been helping that terrorist.," Odyn said.
Ruby was surprised.
"What, why Odyn?! They didn't do anything wrong!," Ruby asked upset.
Odyn sighed as Mercury answered for him temporarily.
"Actually, Ruby.. Cinder isn't really... who you think she is. And aside from that, she's-...,"Mercury trailed off before Odyn spoke.
His haired shadowed his eyes before he began to shake in anger. Odyn clenched his fists and grit his teeth before Ruby noticed how dark the look on his face was.
"The woman who murdered over half of my family... That woman is the murderer who took my sister from me!,"Odyn said angered.
While Ruby was shocked and.. a little disappointed, she was more worried about her boyfriend. She went from disbelief to comforting Odyn because she cared about him.
"Odyn...," She said worried.
The dark elf felt Ruby stop and hug him. He widened his eyes, surprised at the gesture before relaxing into it as he allowed his lover to comfort him in his pain. Ruby felt Odyn hug her back, making her smile.
"Oh heh heh heh heh, sorry... I made things get a little gloomy there, didn't I?," Mercury apologized.
Ruby shook her head after she finished comforting her boyfriend.
"Don't worry about it, Mercury. You didn't know. Of course, neither did I..,"Ruby said smiling sadly.
Ruby then felt Odyn's hand on her shoulder as he attempted to comfort her this time.
"Don't let that get you down, Ruby. You're very trusting of people and that's something I find to be very endearing.," Odyn encouraged her.
Ruby couldn't help but to blush at her boyfriend's words, he always seemed to know just what to say when she felt down.
"O-Odyn s-stop! You're going to make me blush even more....," Ruby said with her face flushed red.
"A-Ahem! Not to uh... interrupt you two but don't we have something more important to take care of?," Mercury asked clearing his throat with a slight tinge of pink on his face.
They resumed their dash towards the arena down the hallway.
"So.. what about Emerald then? Is she bad?," Ruby asked.
Mercury thought for a moment.
"Um... no? At least I don't think so. Thing is... she feels indebted towards Cinder because she saved her from a not so good situation before when she was younger. When both of us were younger.," Mercury said.
"If she's not eveil then...," Ruby trailed off.
Odyn finished his girlfriend's thought.
"She just needs someone to convince her to drop out of Cinder's service and see that woman for who and what she really is. I think I know a person who could help her with that.,"Odyn said.
"You do?," Ruby asked.
Odyn nodded.
"Who is this person you know then?," Ruby asked.
Before he could answer, their attention was drawn to a certain announcement.
"Fighters, are you ready?," Oobleck said over the broadcast drawing the group of teens attention.
With Pyrrha...
Down in the arena, Penny beams widely in excitement and anticipation. Pyrrha still is seen to be looking around in a daze, but manages to make a small scowl on her face towards her opponent. Her weapons Milo (a spear) and Akouo (a shield) already in her hands.
Oobleck begins to count down as James Ironwood sits down calmly to observe the fight, Nora and Ren cheer for their teammate, while Jaune watches anxiously. Emerald leans forward with a glare.
"3..."
Pyrrha hears her heartbeat increase as she prepares for her fight.
"2..."
A small creature with beady red eyes and small horns cackles silently as it observes the proceedings. The humans blissfully unaware of its presence carry on as if nothing is wrong.
"1...."
Berethon and Hyatan look on with pointed and worried expressions. It then pans to the Arkham siblings, along with Tarro sprinting towards where the King and Queen are staying. A heartbeat continues as they burst through the doors and kneel before Berethon and Hyatan with their report.
Oobleck leans forward.
"BEGIN!", Oobleck shouted.
When those words were spoken, Penny is surrounded by a floating array of swords. She gestures around to them, commanding them to launch towards Pyrrha. The gladiator armored girl then runs towards the projectiles and leaps past or deflects each of the aimed blades, until they turn around and come back towards the fight.
With the Arkham siblings....
Sybyrh, Tarro, Valvahdern, and Zero all knelt towards Berethon and Hyatan as they detailed their report to them. Berethon is then seen with a bit of a scowl as he spoke in response to their report.
"And that is what we have to report, my lieges.," Sybyrh said.
Berethon and Hyatan were seen scowling at the news of Sybyrh's findings. Berethon then looked towards them as he spoke.
"And.. you're certain of this?," The elven king asked seriously.
"We are indeed m'lord. Sybyrh even double checked herself. The suspect has no idea that we're aware of what her plans are.," Valvahdern said.
Tarro then spoke.
"Forgive me for interrupting, your Grace... But what would you have us do, now that we know this?," Tarro asked.
Hyatan then spoke.
"Monitor the situation as it unfolds.," She said before continuing.
"Sybyrh, we give you full authorization to mobilize our forces that are gathered here.,"Hyatan said in a serious tone.
"Yes, your Grace. But.. are you certain this is the course of action you wish to take?," Sybyrh replied.
She nodded.
"I am grateful to have a retainer who's concern is for our people foremost of all. To answer your question, Sybyrh... Yes it is.," She responded.
"It would seem the humans have begun to test our patience and you know our people can't take this oppression for much longer. We will wait and see how the situation unfolds. Should the need for it arise, Sybyrh you have full authority to mobilize our forces.,"Berethon said.
The group nodded in understanding.
"Understood, your Majesties.," They said in agreement.
With that said, the quartet of adults then left the King and Queen's presence to march back to Vale.
"Do you think we're making the right decision, dear?," Hyatan asked.
Berethon sighed before he spoke in response to his wife's inquiry.
"For all of our sakes... I have to trust that we are making the decision best suited for the survival of our people.," berethon answered.
Back with Pyrrha...
Pyrrha twirled the javelin she now held to block each swipe of Penny's blades after having returned her shield to her back. She has to drop her weapon when having to somersault away after being hit by a slash from Penny only to magnetically return it to her open hand as the android girl prepares another wave of spinning blades to launch towards Pyrrha.
"My word! What a tremendous display of abilities by Miss Polendina!," Port announced in awe from the broadcast booth.
The red haired girl was now fully glowering towards Penny as she rushed forward, jumping onto an incoming sword. She swings down on Penny, only to have her assault stopped by another wave of blades. She has to leap away from Penny's retalitory slash to put distance between her and the android girl. Penny backs away after the slash as well. Pyrrha then has to defend against the barrage of blades coming towards her with the length of her own weapon, putting her at a disadvantage. This prompts Pyrrha to roll the shield from her back and onto her arm with her semblance. In this way, she could deal with the storm of blades.
Nora is seen to be cheering for Pyrrha with her arms wide. Ren also cheers for his teammate pumping his fist in support of her with a worried Jaune next to him.
"Whoo, yeah! Goooo Pyrrha!," Nora cheered enthusiastically.
Despite the cheers and support from her teammates, Pyrrha isn't doing so well. She looks down and sees her semblance's black and red energy bend the weapons in her hands unnaturally for a split second. Emerald is seen to be narrowing her gaze further as she continues to concentrate on the red headed young woman. She would've continued to look further into Pyrrha, but she felt a very powerful force was blocking her from doing so.
"What the-? It's like... there's another person stopping me. Weird...," Emerald thought taken aback by it.
The camera then cuts to the trio of Ruby, Odyn, and Mercury making their way towards the exit as they run down the hallway.
"We're almost there!," Odyn said.
"Yeah!," Ruby said.
"I just hope we get there in time!," Mercury added.
"We will! We have to get there in time because who knows what will happen if we don't!," Ruby said as they neared the exit.
The camera then cuts back to Pyrrha as she spins wildly to deflect and dodge each of Penny's blades that were aimed at her. This was until she sees an opening, slipping past Penny's guard to deliver a few slashes of her own with the spear sending the other girl flying backwards. She bats away the other blades that came to their wielder's aid. The orange haired and green eyed girl then slides to a stop before making a new series of motions with her hands. The weapons are then called back to her before folding up until Penny's circled by several laser rifles, a few which open fire upon the approaching Pyrrha. The approaching gladiator avoids the laser fire and fights off the remaining blades with her own sword until she is able to get into position to charge at Penny and knock her back. Pyrrha is seen to be straightening into a grin of victory before it vanishes into dizziness as she sees Penny rocketing towards her, weapons firing behind her like a jetpack. This allows the girl to leap high into the air before coming down not unlike a meteor upon her opponent.
Rolling back on to her feet, Pyrrha is caught by surprise as a sword knocks her shield off, and then another to do the same with her sword. She tried pulling back her sword with her semblance, Polarity, but suddenly has to use it to send another approaching blade back towards Penny. The blade disappears behind Penny, only for her to grin as she raised her arms revealing several other blades above her, aimed to strike at Pyrrha.
Emerald squints down upon the arena, the sharp sound of her semblace is heard as Penny's blades double, and then triple, before multiplying into an innumerable amount of swords. Pyrrha then unsteadily steps back both in the reality where the 8 blades are ready to go and inside the hallucinated one where the cloud of sharp weapons thickens to even block the crowds around her. Sarai knew that Pyrrha had fallen prey to an illusion messing with her mind and she sighed. Pyrrha was far to stressed to tell the difference now. She spoke to get Pyrrha's attention, she needed to get her vessel to think straight. Because right now, Pyrrha wasn't thinking straight. She was thinking scared. Something horrible was bound to happen if she thought scared.
"Pyrrha!", Sarai yelled from within getting Pyrrha's attention.
"Huh? Yes?," She asked startled a the tone in the dark elf's voice.
"Snap out of it! Someone's cast an illusion on you to confuse you. They want you to act scared so you'll do something horrible. I am not about to let my vessel do something they'll regret later on!,"Sarai snapped.
"O.. kay? How do I snap out of this then?,"Pyrrha asked.
"Simple. Allow me to temporarily take over your body. Whoever cast this illusion has no idea who they're messing with. This level of an illusion won't even faze a dark elf.," Sarai said.
Pyrrha thought about it and it made sense.
"Alright, Sarai. Do what you need to do then.," Pyrrha said.
Pyrrha closed her eyes and her body shifted. When she opened her eyes, Pyrrha's green orbs were replaced by Sarai's fiery orange ones. Penny was confused as she stared at Pyrrha who seemed to be glaring at someone in the crowd.
Emerald was confused, why wasn't the illusion working? She squinted again only to come face to face with those eyes... those burning flame colored eyes. That... could only mean one thing, Pyrrha Nikos had the soul of a dark elf within her.
"Not good...," Emerald thought.
While the crowd was confused as to what was happening, Emerald tried to escape quietly. Unfortunately, she never made it as she suddenly felt an amored fist impact her stomach before she blacked out. It was revealed to be Valvahdern, who had just made it in time to stop whatever was about to just take place. He hoisted the girl over his shoulder and signaled to Sarai that the crisis had been avoided. Ruby, Odyn, and Mercury arrived just in time to see that... nothing happened?
Suddnly, the screens and camera feed are then tinted with an ominous bright red with a balck queen chess piece on the screen confusing the gathered crowds. A very familiar and arrogant voice then is heard throughout the arena.
"This is not a tragedy. This was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, your children, to men who claim to be your guardians, but are, in reality, nothing more than men. Our Academies' Headmasters wield more power than most armies do, and one was audacious enough to control both.," Cinder said as several audience members look uneasy.
Others are looking confused while this person spoke because... nothing actually happened.
Ironwood, realized who Cinder was talking about grimaces as he rises from his seat before marching up the steps. Cinder is then seen standing on a rooftop as she speaks into her scroll.
"They cling to power in the name of peace, and yet, what do we have here? One nation's attempt at a synthetic army, mercilessly torn apart by another's star pupil. What need would Atlas have for a soldier disguised as an innocent little girl? I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference."
Pyrrha is seen to be confused as she looks up at the screens, Sarai giving control of her body back to her. The people are confused and nervous as they continue to listen to Cinder's speech. The Grimm drawing closer to the city as negative emotions begin to build.
"And what, I ask you, is Ozpin teaching his students? First a dismemberment, now this? Huntsmen and Huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy, yet, I have witnessed neither."
Odyn is seen clenching his fist as he has the darkest look Ruby or anyone has ever seen on his face. His teeth are clenched in anger and blood is seen dripping from his hands as he listens.
"You say all this, witch... yet YOU WERE THE MURDERER WHO TOOK MY FAMILY FROM ME!," Odyn thought angrily.
Weiss and Blake who were in a restaurant watching the feed of the tournament shared a look before the last member of team Rwby, Yang was seen looking out of the window listening to Cinder's speech. That was before Roy came up and put a hand on her shoulder. The blonde, taking the hand and nuzzling against it before embracing the crimson haired dark elf who smiled at the girl. Zwei was seen coming up next to the pair as he barks happily at Yang and Roy.
"Perhaps Ozpin felt as though defeating Atlas in the tournament would help people to forget his colossal failure to protect Valewhen Grimm invaded its streets. Or perhaps this was just his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong. But I know the existence of peace is fragile, and the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves."
Ozpin watches the screen intently, his dust weapon, The Long Memory at his side and Atlesian airships hovering beyond his window. Amid the silent murmuring across the colosseum as they absorb the seemingly revolutionary words, no one notices elven guards exit the stadium and heading towards where their rulers are residing upon the discretion of their commanding officer, Sybyrh.
"As someone who hails from Mistral, I can assure you the situation there is.. equally undesirable. Our kingdoms are on the brink of war, yet we, the citizens, are left in the dark."
A pair of Atlas soldiers watch the mesage on their scroll, not bothering to notice the waves of Grimm coming out of the mist, shrouded, treeline until they hear growling. But by then, it's too late. They turn and open fire as best as they can, unfortunately, for naught due to the sheer number of Grimm. The Grimm overrun the guards as her voice is stirring up trouble from her position with an evil smile.
"So I ask you: When the first shots are fired... who do you think you can trust?," Cinder said as she finished.
In the Colosseum, the screens cut from red and black to complete static. This even further confused people, but it unfortunately led to what Cinder wanted... panic. And panic brings Grimm.
"The feeds are all jammed! We can't get a message out!," Oobleck said turning to Port.
"Will somebody tell me what in the world is happening!?," Port asked towards tge people behind the scenes.
It then briefly cuts towards Cinder who is walking towards Beacon's tower. She turns and smiles at who was following her.
The camera cuts back to the colosseum as Port's question is then answered with the sound of a wailing alarm throughout the structure. with humans and Faunus and even a Henchman holding a tub of popcorn looking up in alarm at the orange flashing screens reading "CAUTION".
"Alert. Incoming Grimm attack. Threat level: Nine. Please seek shelter in a calm and orderly manner.," The system said over the speakers.
The crowds begin to flee, wild and screaming, through the exit tunnels, while Ironwood enters the announcers' box and grabs the microphone from between Port and Oobleck.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please. There is no need for panic.," Ironwood assured them.
On the ground, while Ironwood is attempting to calm everyone, Sarai speaks up within Pyrrha.
"Pyrrha! You don't have time to dawdle, you have to hurry to the vault!," Sarai warned her.
Pyrrha shook her head to wake herself out of feeling sorry for herself. While she wasn't crazy about the idea, Sarai was right. There was something she could do to save humanity and she had the opportunity to do so. The girl got up and quickly left the stadium as fast as her legs coukd carry her. Jaune, had seen Pyrrha leaving and went after her.
a Giant Nevermore appears atop the arena's domed force field, giving a series of deafening screeches as it claws and pecks at the defense with its beak.
"What the- a Nevermore?!," Sun asked standing up in alarm with Coco.
" How'd it get past the kingdom's defenses?," Coco asked lowering her glasses.
The two heard a voice come from behind them.
"It doesn't matter how. All that matters is that creature is here now.," Hailfire said now clad in her traditional silver and golden elven armor.
Sun turned towards the girl and almost didn't recognize her.
"Hailfire...?," He asked confused.
Hailfire briefly turned her head, acknowledging the golden haired monkey faunus.
"If you have time to talk about that oversized chicken, then you have time to fight it once it breaks through!," Hailfire said seriously.
The other teens were still in mild shock at how Hailfire was now taking command of the situation, like... she was an army commander.
"It wasn't alone either.," Ren said rising beside his friends.
In the headmaster's office, Ozpin is gripping his cane tight, watching the city come under attack with a horrified expression.
Qrow then comes running into the office with Glynda by his side.
"Oz!," Qrow said gaining the Headmaster's attention.
Ozpin turned towards them.
"Get to the city!," Ozpin said.
"But-... ," Qrow tried saying before being cut off by Ozpin.
"Now!," Ozpin said cutting off Qrow.
Qrow and Glynda exchange a look before going back the way they came. Meanwhile, Mountain Glenn is almost silent, as every monster lurking there from Beowolves to Boarbatusks, Ursai and Nevermores, and even lumbering Goliaths with wide red eyes rush forward.
Ironwood is back the colosseum, watching the bird Grimm attack the shields until he answers his scroll.
"About what that voice said concerning the girl... I-I can explain!," Ironwood said stammering.
"You brought your army to my kingdom, James. Now use it.," Ozpin's voice said gravely throught the scroll.
Penny is seen to be looking rather confused as to what was going on until she noticed the giant Nevermore and the people panicking in the streets. The hardened her gaze as she then saw what the situation now was.
The people panicked until seeing familiar sets of armor. The elven Vanguard had arrived in Vale and they were led by Khanna. The black haired dark elf then took command of the situation, ordering the elven soldiers to fight back and protect the citizens.
"Do your job! Don't let even a single citizen fall to harm, is that clear?!," She yelled.
"Yes, Ma'am!," the soldiers shouted.
She pointed towards the Grimm coming into the streets.
"Those are your enemies, don't leave a single one alive!," Khanna ordered.
"Ooh raahh!," The soldiers shouted.
"Now, chaaaaarrrgggee!," Khanna said running forward.
The elven soldiers then followed her lead and charged towards the Grimm.
Ironwood and the others saw this, confised as to why elven soldiers were in Vale. They were nevertheless grateful for the help however. The Atlas General looked to his own soldiers.
"Don't just stand there, go help those men!," Ironwood ordered.
The Atlas men did as in instructed, leaping into the fray to assist the elven soldiers in defending the citizens and guests of Vale.
Ironwood's worry turns to determination. His fleet of ships are being attacked by even more giant Nevermores though to minimal effect. Soldiers inside are scrambling to enter commands inside the bridge around their commanding officer.
"Darn it! This is Blue Four! Blues Two and Three, fall into defensive position!," The soldier said speaking the information into his scroll.
"Roger! Blue Three, in position!," The recruit speaks over the scroll.
"Blue Two, what's your status? [No response on the other end] Blue Two, come in! Someone answer me, dog gone it!," The Atlas Ship commander said frustrated.
What he didn't know was that the bridge of the last ship is wrecked, computers sparking and men down as a pair of high boots walk through the destruction. Dressed in an Atlas uniform and holding both Hush and Melodic Cudgel with a feathered hat on top.
It was revealed to be Neopolitan, dressed in an Atlas uniform as she stalks her way over to a certain holding cell. She has a devious grin on her face as she opens the cell door, revealing Roman.
"Well... it's about time...," Roman said taking his dust weapon and his favorite hat as he leans out of the shadows and into the light.
The camera then cuts to outside the Airships, where the furthest craft suddenly turns towards its allies and fires several bright red lasers at the engine of the one closest to it.
"We're hit! What's going-," The Atlas captain started saying before the flaming ship crashes into another in a series of explosions and sends both of them tumbling toward the waters below.
Roman is seen to be laughing maniacally at the controls as Neo watched from the side.
"Woo-hoohahahaha! Oohh, it is good to be back!," Roman said laughing.
His laughter was cut short as he then noticed several larger and unfamiliar airships with a certain emblem on them. They approached the airspace of Vale, heading towards the city.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!," He said throwing his hands into the air in frustration.
He recognized those ships as dark elven vessels that had come to aid Atlas. That.. coukd become a problem for him, due to how much larger and more sturdy these elven vanguard air ships seemed to be.
At Beacon's cliffside landing platforms, three Bullheads arrive, the middle one opening its hatch to reveal four members of the White Fang, and their leader.
"Bring them to their knees!," Adam said.
Another Bullhead opens its door, this time with several creatures of Grimm inside. A growling Ursa jumps from it and lands on Academy grounds. That was until it was struck down by a flying projectile. Adam looks over and his eyes widen in surprise at seeing the Elven Vanguard in the city.
A dark elf in emerald green armor then sticks his sword into the ground as he stares down the white fang and the Grimm. He looks to his men and unsheathes his blade.
"You all know what to do men.," He said.
The elven forces following his lead, unsheathing their weapons before they charged right into the cloud of monsters, Adam looking on from a hidden spot.
"Tch! Those forsaken are always getting in my way! Of course they'd be here! No matter, I only have one thing or rather one person that I'm after.," Adam said scowling before smirking.
"I'm coming for you, Blake.," He said.
He dashes off in search of his target.
With Cinder...
As she's making her way towards her target, she stops as she feels a presence behind her. She inwardly sighs before turning to see that it was Valvahdern standing behind her.
"Can I help you?," She asked with a small smile.
"Nice speech, witch. But, things didn't exactly go according to your plan. Penny's still alive and unharmed for the moment.," Valvahdern said.
"Oh? So the girl didn't tear apart the robot girl?," Cinder asked.
"No, she didn't. Thanks to a friend of hers, she was able to stay calm.," Valvahdern said.
"And who is this friend of hers?," Conder asked.
"Like I'd tell you, witch! You'll meet them before too long, I'm sure.," Valvahdern spat in disgust before he smirked at her.
"Why are you here?," Cinder asked.
"Oh that. I just came to warn you.," Valvahdern said.
"Warn me? About what?," Cinder asked.
Valvahdern was suddenly on her side and near her ear. She didn't even see him move! He placed a hand on her shoulder in warning as he spoke.
"Be very careful of whom you anger, witch. I don't think you're ready to handle the wrath of an entire race even when you do get your magical boost from the Fall Maiden.," Valvahdern said before he suddenly vanished.
Cinder was about to tell him off, but he was gone. These dark elves were very dangerous, she had to take care of them and soon. The sooner she took care of them, the easier her goal would come to being fulfilled. She then continued on her way. Cinder wondered what happened to Emerald, not that it mattered one bit. She could always get another loyal henchman.
Time skip: back at the Fairgrounds...
The scene shows the fairgrounds in chaos as civilians run away from the hordes of Grimm. Atlesian Knight-200s are seen firing at the dark creatures, and a vendor hides behind his booth when a group of Ursai run past. Several Nevermores fly across the sky, one holding Roy Stallion in it's talons.
The situation then changed suddenly when they notice a fee familiar faces, Khanna, Baron, Flare, and was that the faunus team Odyn's team beat with them? They were fighting off Grimm alongside... elven soldiers? What was going on here?
Khanna sees them and goes over to them.
"Oh, thank udiya we made it in time!," Khanna said in relief.
"Um.. Khanna, what is happening here?," Weiss asked confused.
"Oh that. The team Odyn fought decided to help us elves out. Our rulers gave us the go ahead to deploy if the situation demanded it. I'd say this counts as important, right?," Khanna said.
"Sure...," Blake said a little uncertain.
"Shallot, you help out these girls for now alright?," Khanna said to the saiyan before going back to help her fellow dark elves.
Blake and Weiss are shown to still be watching in horror of everything going on around them. Civilians continue to flee as Grimm continue to run amok, and a dead Creep on the ground starts to dissipate.
"I don't believe this...," Weiss said troubled.
"How did it even come to this?," Blake wondered aloud.
Shallot then spoke as he blasted away a creep.
"Not to interupt your musings, miss Schnee, miss Belladonna, but I believe we have more important things to worry about at the moment?," Shallot said kicking away an Ursai.
Weiss and Blake snap out of it, realizing that Shallot was right. They had a job to do. The two girls readied their dust weapons and began to fight alongside Shallot. In the midst of the Battle, Blake uses her scroll to contact their teammate.
With Yang..
Yang pulled away from Roy, now feeling much better and back to her normal self.
"Thanks, handsome. I appreciate you staying with me this whole time.," Yang said.
Roy just smiled at her.
"Anytime, Yang. I'd do the same thing all over again if it meant I could help you.," He said.
The blonde turned her head away with a small blush on her face as she playfully hit him on the arm.
"Stop that, you're going to make me embarrassed.," Yang said.
Roy chuckled at the reaction before responding.
"Sorry Yang, I can't help it. If I see my friend in trouble, I'm going to do whatever I can to help them.," Roy said.
Yang the approached the the dark elf, pulling on his shirt before she whispered into his ear.
"Careful, you're going to start giving me ideas handsome ~," Yang said smirking.
This caused Roy to flush red in embarrassment as he tried to back away from the blonde. Yang, however, wouldn't let him go that easily.
"I think uh... i n-need to get going then, Yang.," Roy said stammering and embarrassed.
She purposely pressed herself up against him, forcing the elf to look her in the eyes.
"Oh no you don't, mister. I'm not done with you here yet.," Yang said.
When Roy was forced to look Yang in the eyes, he felt himself go into a trance. He was entranced by the beauty of the young woman in front of him. And that young woman was practically throwing herself towards him. As much as he tried to, he wasn't sure if he could actually hold himself back this time.
"Y-Yang... um... I don't know about this... I.. uh.. m-may not be able to hold back this time.," Roy said desparately trying to find a way out of this situation he was now in.
Yang then smiled slyly before she spoke and closed her eyes.
"Well then.. don't hold back this time then. You still owe me, right? This is how you can make it up to me.," Yang said closing her eyes and inching closer to him.
"Y-You're certain this.. is uh.. w-what you want, Yang?," Roy asked with his face flushed red.
The blonde didn't answer, instead just opting to inch closer to the elf's mouth. She was mere centimeters from her goal when... her scroll rang. Inwardly frustrated, she picked up her scroll to answer it.
Roy inwardly sighed in relief, having narrowly escaped that situation thanks to Yang's scroll ringing. He wasn't sure what was about to happen just then. But whatever Yang was about to do to him he knew they'd never be able to undo.
"Hello?," Yang answered.
"Yang? Oh thank goodness! Where are you right now?," Blake asked from the other end of the call.
"Blake? I'm still in the dorm, why?," Yang answered.
"You saw what's happening outside, right?," Blake asked over the scroll.
"Not really. What's going on?," Yang replied.
"Take a look out of the window and you'll see.," Blake answered.
Yang did as instructed and her eyes widened in shock, Vale was.. under attack.
"Where are you right now?," Yang asked.
"At the festival grounds.," Blake said.
"Good, don't go anywhere! I'll be right there!," Yang said.
She then turned to Roy, the elf knowing what that look meant.
"Sorry about this, Roy. I have to-," Yang started before the dark elf finished her thought.
"No need to to say it, you're going to help your teammates. I get it.," Roy told her.
"Okay, so I gotta go then.," Yang said before Roy grabbed her wrist.
"Hold on.," Roy said.
"Roy? Come on, I need to go. Let me go!," Yang said.
He sighed.
"Alright, under 1 condition.," Roy replied.
Yang listened.
"I'm coming with you, Yang. There's no telling what will happen if I let you go alone.," Roy said.
Yang sighed and then smiled.
"Alright, fine. Have it your way, Roy. But... I'm going to expect to pick up where we left off a little bit later, Okay?," Yang said winking at the elf.
He blushed slightly embarrassed before focusing on following Yang out of the room and down the hallway.
Back with Blake and Weiss....
Blake contacts Yang as she is foghting of Grimm.
"Yang, are you okay?," She asked taking out her scroll.
Shallot is seen to be defending Blake from excess Grimm as she spoke to her teammate through her scroll.
It briefly cuts to Yang and Roy running down the hallways with Zwei tailing just behind them.
" I'm fine. Is Ruby with you? She's not answering her Scroll.," Yang answered.
"No, she isn't. Yang, I'm sure she's fine. She's our leader. She can take care of herself.," Blake said.
Yang stops in her tracks with a worried expression on her face until she felt a hand on her shoulder. Turning, she sees Roy nodding to her with a small smile.
"And besides, Odyn's with her. I'm sure she'll be fine, knowing him.," Yang heard Blake say.
"Yeah... you're right. Odyn will take care of Rubes. I'm still worried, but I know she'll be fine with her boyfriend there.," Yang admitted.
Yang then continues forward with Roy and Zwei, turning around the next corner of the hallways.
The camera then cuts back to Blake, Weiss, and Shallot back at the Fairgrounds.
"This... can't be.. Is this really happening right now?," Weiss said distraught at the situation that was now unfolding within Vale.
Buidings are on fire, and there were bodies of innocent civilians strewn across the streets with small fires and smoke billowing from the pavement and around the area they were in.
"I'm headed to the docks near the courtyard. The White Fang are releasing Grimm into the school!," Yang said over the scroll.
Blakes eyes widened.
"The White Fang is here?!," Blake asked alarmed.
Through her Scroll, Blake hears the sounds of Grimm growling, and her expression grows ever more worried.
"Yang!," Blake said worried.
"Ugh! Listen, we gotta go! Be careful!," Yang said as Blake hears the sounds of sword slashes and yelling before the call ended.
Weiss then looked towards Blake with an uncertain look on her face.
"Blake, what are we going to do?," Weiss asked worried.
The faunus then answers pensively as she looks towards her friend.
"We're going to the docks and we'll do our job.," Blake answered.
Shallot spoke up.
Would you mind If I came with you ladies? I was supposed to help you out and I feel like it'd be dangerous by yourselves.," Shallot said.
Blake turned away from him.
"Do what you want. Follow us, don't follow us, I don't really care. Just don't get in our way.," Blake said running ahead.
Weiss sighed.
"The help would be rather appreciated uhm..?,"Weiss said realizing she didn't know the saiyan's name.
"Shallot. Shallot Zenkai at your service, miss schnee.," Shallot said.
"Right then, Shallot. And it's just Weiss.," Weiss replied.
Shallot nodded as the two then went after Blake as she headed towards the docks.
Back at the Colosseum.....
Back at Amity Colosseum, the Nevermore screeches as it continues to weaken the force field that's keeping it from getting in.
"Warning: Safety Barriers Failing.," the system sounded fromnaround them.
As civilians run past her in a panic, Ruby Rose stays kneeling on the ground with her head down, her expression in a mixture of shock and sadness. As the Nevermore circles around the colosseum, Odyn looks skyward. He knew the next time the bird grimm struck, the barrier would be broken. He looked towards his girlfriend, Ruby noticing the gaze of the dark elf.
"Ruby.," Odyn said.
"Yeah.. what is it, Odyn?," she asked.
"Get ready to call your weapon locker, you're going to need it.," Odyn said.
The girl never bothered asking why, she knew that there had to be a reason why Odyn was suggesting she do so. She may not have completely understood why, but she trusted her boyfriend. More than likely, he knew something that she wasn't aware of.
Ruby nodded and prepared to call her locker as instructed.
Suddenly, the Nevermore completely breaks through the holographic barrier, and the force of it landing on the arena floor knocks back Nora, Ren, and Ruby before she's then caught by Odyn.
The dark elf nods to her as she then goes forth. Seeing one of Penny's swords that'd been knocked away, Ruby picks it up and dashes towards the Nevermore. The Grimm lunged towards Penny, only to be knocked back by a red, twirling blur of roses, with the cause of the blur gripping one of Penny's swords and stabbing into the Nevermore, before jumping back down in front of the android girl.
Ruby turns towards her friend, who then smiles.
"Ruby?," Penny asked.
Ruby then dons an angered and determined expression upon her face as she points one of Penny's borrowed Swords towards the giant Grimm.
"Leave her alone!," Ruby said towards the bird Grimm.
The Nevermore rises up and circles around the arena before lunging back down. Ruby holds Penny's sword defensively. She then smirks after quickly inputting the code for her rocket locker.
"Gotcha.," Ruby said grinning.
Suddenly, the Nevermore gets pinned down by a barrage of rocket lockers, and screeches out in pain before going unconscious. Ruby wasn't expecting the other lockers to show up, but she was grateful they did. Ruby then guessed the other students must've had the same idea she did, which resulted in them calling for their rocket lockers. It just so happened that all of them arrived in one place, at the same exact time.
The lockers then open up, revealing the weapons of various students, including Crocea Mors, StormFlower, Magnhild, and Fulcrum. The respective owner of the sword pulls it out from his locker, and is shown alongside Scarlet David gripping his cutlass and flintlock pistol, Sage Ayana with his sword, and Neptune Vasilias with his gun in hand. The camera continues to pan over showing Sun Wukong with Ruyi Bang and Jingu Bang in its staff form, Ren and Nora carrying their respective weapons, and the remaining members of Team CFVY, the members of Team ABRN, as well as Flynt Coal and Neon Katt of Team FNKI, all gripping their respective weapons.
Odyn simply unsheathes his sword from the scabbard on his back, while Ruby goes up to her locker and pulls out her weapon, Crescent Rose. Hailfire unsheathes her elven blade and expands her shield from the gauntlet on her arm. The other teens are shaken when the Grimm starts to get back up.
This is only until Hailfire rams her shield into its face after leaping towards the bird type Grimm. This disorients the creature, causing it to stagger. The dark elven shield maiden clicks her tongue in annoyance knowing she didn't take it out just then. The other students take turns attacking the Grimm as Odyn, Hailfire, and the other dark elves hung back.
Ren then leaps up into the air and uses the blades of his weapons to slash at the Nevermore's eye. Arslan Altan uses her rope dart to swing down and grab the towering Yatsuhashi from the ground carrying him upward. Sage also leaps up into the air, and Nora runs up to the Nevermore's head and hit it with Magnhild in its hammer form. When Arslan reaches peak height, she lets go of Yatsuhashi, who is then joined by Sage, as the two broadsword wielders slash down and decapitate the Nevermore.
The head lands in front of Ruby and the dark elves before it dissipates into black particles as the other students then form a perimeter. As Arslan lands back onto the ground, Ruby looks towards Penny.
Penny understood and nodded with a smile.
"I understand, Ruby. Go on and help your teammates.," Penny said.
"Thanks, Penny.," Ruby said hugging the android girl.
Odyn then looks towards the girl and then to Hailfire, who nods.
"Go on, Lord Odyn. We'll handle things here!," Hailfire said.
Odyn nodded and looked to Ruby, who understood.
"Come on, little rose. We need to find your teammates and quickly.," Odyn said.
Ruby nodded towards him and the pair exited the stadium, leaving the group of other teens.
"May udiya guide and protect you both on your mission, my lord.," Hailfire said.
The dark elf shield maiden then refocused her attention onto the hippogriff-like Grimm landing on top of the colosseum. They fly towards the group of students as Ren calls the Grimm species out by their formal name.
"Griffons.," Ren said.
"So.. uh.. anyone got a plan of attack for these things?," Neptune asked aloud.
The Griffon Grimm are then scared by the sound of a gunshot. It's then revealed to be several of the professors arriving onto the scene.
Port is the first to come forward as he's seen wielding his axe like dust weapon called blowhard (😂 seriously who names their weapon that? Lol)
Oobleck is also seen wielding his dust weapon in it's club form called Antiquity's Roast.
"Students! I think it would be best for you to leave.," Port said.
"I understand your reasons, professor. I really do, but we-," Hailfire said before Oobleck interrupted her.
"Miss Caldern, I understand that you, as a dark elf, have a background as a soldier but what about the rest of these students? Please, just let us older folks have this one. And besides, this day will surely go down in Remnant's history. I'd prefer it if my students could live to tell about it.," Oobleck told the dark elf.
"They need your leadership, miss caldern. Help them.," Port said.
Hailfire sighed in resignation before agreeing to the two professors terms.
"Very well.., you have a point. I'll do my best.," Hailfire replied.
Hailfire slammed her shield into the pavement, gaining everyone's attention.
"Listen up, you guys! If you want to survive... we need to get out of here and pronto! Let's go, everyone!," Hailfire said.
As all the students leave, Hailfire is briefly distracted by the flash of Velvet Scarlatina's camera. She stops to look at the photograph she took but is interrupted when her leader calls out to her.
"Velvet!," Coco calls out to the Rabbit Faunus girl.
The other students then all follow Hailfire who clears a path for them with her shield, plowing through any and all Grimm that tried getting in her way.
With the students clear of the arena, Port and Oobleck stand back-to-back with their weapons in hand as the Griffons circle around them.
"One final match, Barty! Place your bets!," Port said laughing enthusiastically.
Small time skip....
Civilians continue to run and flee in panic as they reach the docking bays of the colosseum. Atlas Soldiers are seen directing civilians to calmly step into the Air Buses. A female student is seen breaking down in tears as another person tries to comfort her.
Suddenly, White Fang Bullheads are seen dropping off more Grimm at the docking bay. Two Atlesian Knights escorting General James Ironwood effortlessly gun down an Ursa. As they proceed forward, the Knights are suddenly brutally ripped apart by a much larger, armored Beowolf variant. The Beowolf then notices Ironwood as the General starts to run towards it, gradually picking up speed as he nears the charging Beowolf. He screams a loud battle cry as he pulls out a pistol from his coat. Ironwood ducks and slides under the Beowolf's swipe and shoots at it twice. Pivoting as he skids across the floor, and using his free hand as a break.
The Beowolf lands and shakes its head then charges at Ironwood again, who fires his revolver three more times before having to duck under another swipe. The Beowolf attempts to swipe at him again with its left claw, but Ironwood effortlessly stops it with his own right hand. The General then fires at the Beowolf's feet, the explosion causing it to get airborne, and still gripping it's claw, Ironwood proceeds to swing it back down to the ground with his own brute strength. Ironwood then picks up the Beowolf, aims the revolver at its skull, and shoots it, causing black blood to splatter from it.
Ironwood then watches the body of the Beowolf dissipate before leaving. The students are then shown exiting the arena entrance and gather together in front of Ironwood.
"General.," Hailfire said greeting Ironwood.
"Ah, miss Caldern.," He said in response.
"Mind telling us what's going on?," Ren asked.
"Grimm are crawling all over the city. The White Fang's invaded Beacon, and to make matters worse, some... vagabond has seized one of my ships. Until we regain command, the skies are out of our control. So I'm... ," He paused noticing a Creep advancing on the group from behind, and shoots it before finishing.
"Going to take it back.," He said finishing.
As Ironwood turns for his ship, he is stopped when asked a question.
"What should we do?," Neptune asked.
Ironwood turned and faced the students, while regarding the few dark elven soldiers that came with them courtesy of Hailfire's status as a commander currently.
"You have two choices. Defend your Kingdom and your school, while working with miss Caldern here... or save yourselves.," He said briefly noticing the uneasy looks the students gave each other before continuing.
"No one will fault you if you leave.," He continued.
Ironwood then proceeds to climb up on the dropship in front of him, as he addresses the crowd.
"Let's move out!," he said.
As Ironwood leaves, the students look at each other and murmur before a certain monkey Faunus speaks up.
" I mean... come on!," Sun said.
"We can take a ship to Beacon!," Neptune suggested.
Time skip: with Roman...
While the students head to the nearest airship, Roman Torchwick is seen giddily fidgeting around with the controls of the Atlesian Airship, callsign "Blue-2", like a child in a candy store.
"Hmm... let's see, what does... this button do?," He asked to no one in particular.
After the button is pressed, a noise is heard.
"Oh, fun! How about ... this one?," He said now curious.
With the press of a button, the airship suddenly empties its cargo of Atlesian Knights, all on standby, as they fall to the ground with a massive thud.
"Hm. Alright, nothing.," The crook said making a disappointed face.
Neo, still wearing her Atlesian military disguise, hands Roman a Scroll with the Black Queen virus, as he inserts it in the console.
"Oh-ho-ho! Now this one, this one's gonna be fun!," Roman said reacting giddily.
As a squadron of Knights shoot down Grimm, they suddenly stop as their visors and LEDs turn a dark crimson, and turn around, pointing their guns at Glynda Goodwitch and Qrow Branwen as they continue to fight the Grimm, the realization shocking them as they see the Knights now turned against two of their now former allies. As they realize this a few familiar faces suddenly rush in and cleave the attacking knights in two. It was revealed to be Sybyrh, Zero, and Tarro.
"What?!," Glynda said in surprise before the trio saved them.
"Careful, Goodwitch. This is no time to be surprised.," Zero said.
"Your kingdom's technology has been compromised. These knights are your enemies now, so focus!," Sybyrh said as he slipped into another stance, blade held forward.
"R.. Right.," Glynda said surprised.
The group of professors then prepared to face off with Grimm and corrupted Atlesian 200 knights.
In the courtyards of Beacon, Weiss and Blake are nearly caught off-guard by the local Knights also succumbing to the virus and turning towards them, fortunately Blake reacts quickly.
"Look out!," Blake said.
The faunus managed push Weiss aside in order to dodge incoming fire, but the Knights surround them, forcing the Schnee and the Faunus to draw their weapons. Shallot then came from the rear to blast a hole in the stomach of a corrupted Atlesian Knight-200, who was about to get the jump on Blake. She turned and nodded to the saiyan.
"Thanks.," Blake said in her ususal tone.
"You're welcome?," Shallot said uncertain if Blake was grateful or not.
Weiss put a hand on his shoulder in encouragement.
"Not to worry, Blake will come around eventually. She's just not very good at expressing her true feelings.," Weiss assured him.
"I see.," Shallot replied.
The trio then prepared to face off with the other group of Atlesian Knight-200s that had suddenly turned on them.
Meanwhile, the oblivious general, still en route to the Airship, gets a nasty surprise when the Knights on his dropship suddenly activate and turn on him.
"No!," Ironwood said in realization.
As Ironwood reaches out, the dropship suddenly loses altitude, plummeting from the ground as two flashes can be seen from the cockpit. The students watch in horror as they see the dropship fall from the sky.
Hailfire assured them the General would be alright. They were worried, but if Hailfire said Ironwood would be okay, they believed her.
With Odyn and Ruby...
Meanwhile, Ruby and Odyn dashed towards where they believed Ruby's teammates would be. The girl then stops as she noticed the dropship falling from the sky. Odyn noticed Ruby stop and looked back to her.
"You want to go help, don't you?," Odyn asked.
"Huh? Oh uh well.. ah.. heh heh heh, yeah. You got me, Odyn.," Ruby said laughing nervously.
He sighed.
"Alright, but I'm coming with you alright?," Odyn said.
"Okay.," She said as Odyn then concentrated his power to allow them to fly.
"Ready?," Odyn asked.
Ruby nodded.
The two then took off towards the airbus near the ship, briefly landing on top before Ruby used her semblance of speed to safely land on the runway after freefalling in the sky. Odyn rocketed after her to keep up with his girlfriend. As the girl free falls, she feels Odyn grab her before the two rocket up to land on top of Roman's stolen airship.
"Ugh... go see what that is.," Roman said gesturing towards Neo.
Neo simply nods at Roman's command, and leaves the control room.
Back with Blake, Weiss, and Shallot...
Back at Beacon, the hacked Knights continue to fire, but they are cut up by flurry of slashes. Weiss is seen taking down a sizeable group of knights using a combination of Myrtenaster's strikes as well as her using her Glyph Semblance, while Blake fights off a group of White Fang soldiers, before using her Semblance to dodge a dual sword-wielding soldier, more White Fang grunts charge at her, but they are all suddenly knocked back by Weiss.
Shallot was backing up the two, taking care of any Atlesian Knight-200s and White Fang members the two girls didn't see.
Afterwards, Weiss and Blake stand back-to-back, but notice a group of human Atlas Soldiers fighting off an Atlesian Paladin, which has also been affected by the virus and turned rogue. The Paladin easily bats aside several of the soldiers.
"Come on!," Weiss said.
But before the trio can assist the soldiers, they notice a Bullhead about to crash land. An armored Beowolf is seen jumping out of it before it could crash with the aircraft. The view shifts to look down from above, more soldiers can be seen continuing to fight the Paladin. The Beowolf lands on the ground and starts to chase after fleeing civilians. Weiss looks to Shallot, and then to Blake.
"I don't know you very well, but please, go with Blake.," Weiss said.
"Weiss, I can-," Blake started but was cut short by her teammate.
"It can't hurt to have some extra help, can it?," Weiss asked.
Blake said nothing as Shallot nodded.
"You have my word, Miss.. I mean, Weiss. I'll do whatever I can to keep her safe.," Shallot said.
Weiss nodded and looked towards the cat faunus.
"Be safe.," Weiss said before she parted ways with the two.
Blake and Shallot are then seen running just outside the dining hall. Shallot is then fighting off some stray Grimm, not noticing Blake turn a different direction.
"Blake, wait!," Shallot called.
"Don't worry, I just need to check on something. I'll be right back.," She told him.
"Okay, but hurry!," Shallot said he continued to fight off stray Grimm and white fang members.
She stops when the Beowolf from earlier latches onto the side of the building above her. Her attention is then drawn away from the Beowolf when she hears a wounded scream inside the burning interior of the dining hall. She turns fist clenched then gives a look of horror when she sees a familiar figure throwing an Atlas soldier.
"No..., Adam?," she said in horror.
The bull faunus then grins darkly as he spies his target.
"Hello, my darling.," Adam replied.
Time skip....
All across Beacon Academy, various students battle the many Creatures of Grimm: Jaune is seen charging at an Ursa then delivers a slash that knocks it back, while on his way to follow Pyrrha. Neon rollerblades away from a Boarbatusk. Coco opens fire on a Griffon as it lands, while Arslan is seen fighting an Ursa Major before it runs off to attack Nora, who fires at it with her grenade launcher. Ren is seen firing his guns at a retreating Beowolf before it drops dead. The camera then dynamically zooms under an archway before panning up a building, slowing down until it reveals Cinder Fall.
She's seen filming the chaos on her scroll and smiling wickedly. This lasts only a moment until she notices the elves beating back the Grimm with a ferocity she's never seen before in a supposedly "inferior" race. She still smiles at all the chaos that was taking place.
"Beautiful.," She thought.
"But... it is both sad and horrendous.," she said aloud.
She focused on recording everything until a sudden tremor rocked her. She smiled, knowing what was coming next.
Cinder stayed put for awhile, before walking off, but still being sure to record the chaos at Beacon.
The camera pans to Valvahdern, who sets down an unconscious Emerald. He then has a worried expression upon feeling the sudden tremor.
"Gods, I have a very bad feeling about that....," The dark elf in crimson armor thought.
Emerald was still unconscious, but for how much longer? The dark elf certainly wouldn't want the girl waking up to this mess. He decided that it was bettwr to get her to some place safe before she awoke. He began to walk off again after carrying the girl bridal style.
"I do apologize for this, young miss Emerald. But.. it would not be ideal for you to awake just yet.," Valvahdern thought as he continued walking.
With Ozpin...
Inside his office, Ozpin watches the battle on three video feeds, one showing some buildings, the middle showing a group of Atlas soldiers struggling a against a Deathstalker on Beacon's main avenue, and the last showing civilians stuck on a rooftop waving for help, while an Ursa slowly crawls up the side of the building. He also sees the forces of elven soldiers helping to beat back the hordes of Grimm, while assisting anyone from his students and the faculty of Beacon to innocent civilians and the Atlas soldiers.
Ozpin then starts to walk away from his desk, grabbing his cane in the process, before proceeding to the elevator. However, he is stopped in his tracks when a sudden tremor shakes the ground.
"I don't like the feel of that...," Ozpin thought.
In the city...
Back in the city, Glynda, Sybyrh, Zero, Tarro, and Qrow continue fighting, before they too are shaken by another tremor. Qrow stabs his sword into the ground to keep himself standing.
"No....," Glynda said worried.
Sybyrh nodded in agreement.
"Agreed, Glynda. I don't like the feeling I'm getting here...," Sybyrh said.
With Jaune...
Another tremor shakes Jaune as he battles an Ursa Major, causing him to look skyward in worry.
Sage and Scarlet, who also fought an Ursa major not far from Jaune were piggyback riding on it with worried expressions on their faces.
With Berethon and Hyatan...
The king and queen felt the tremor and looked towards the horizon.
"Dear...," Hyatan began.
Berethon nodded.
"Agreed. It seems our enemy's plan is just beginning...," He said.
"I see. I don't particularly like the feeling I'm getting from just outside of Vale.," Hyatan said.
Berethon took his wife's hand into his as they turned towards their elven kin.
"I don't either. It would seem... we have little choice in the matter...," Berethon said watching the horizon.
Elsewhere...
A mountain starts to violently shake and crumble, as various body parts of a monstrous-looking Grimm are revealed, before the mountain completely breaks apart, releasing a titanic Wyvern. The Wyvern roars and flies over the abandoned Mountain Glenn, heading towards Beacon. As it flies, it exudes a black, tar-like substance which drops to the ground in the city of Vale and spawns various Grimm.
Ozpin approaches the window of his office, noticing the Wyvern getting closer. The massive Grimm excretes more of the black substance, which drops to the ground and spawns more Grimm near the base of the CCT. As the Grimm charge forward, the camera pans across the members of Team SSSN and Team JNPR in a lineup as they prepare to battle the incoming enemies.
Pyrrha finally makes it to Vale, and immediately notices the situation. Jaune noticing her as he catches up to her. Jaune and Pyrrha exchange a smile with each other as she adopts a pose similar to his. Before they can go forward, Pyrrha notices Ozpin standing by the entrance of the tower, while Team SSSN runs off to continue fighting. Pyrrha then walks towards her headmaster without saying a word to her teammates, much to their confusion.
"She just got back, now where's she going?," Nora asked.
"I'll go find out. You two stay here and keep fighting.," Jaune said chasing after Pyrrha once again.
As he goes to follow Pyrrha, the camera then zooms in to a building in the background, with a familiar figure standing on the rooftop with her weapons in hand. A close up of Cinder's eyes are seen glowing ominously.
The camera then pans to a split of Cinder's glowing eye and Berethon's flame colored eye as they utter the same words.
"It has begun...," They both said with screen split.
The screen then fades to black.
To be continued...
Ending:
Ending theme: (DB Kai ed 3)
Visuals: It shows quick panels of each of the cast so far, ranging from Odyn and his team to Rwby, JNPR, KDBNB, and even now to GSSJ. Are shown lying down on the ground as Beacon is in Flames while they struggle to to stand. They eventually do stand as the cast walks forward with each of their portraits displaying them in a fight of some kind with either Grimm or in the case of Odyn against Cinder. Roy is seen to be fighting against Adam with Blake and Yang. Hailfire's portrait shows her with the other students, fighting off Grimm, while Khanna's shows her and the elven army. The song ends as the cast is shown to be fighting Cinder and the Grimm.
Whew! That was a doozy to write! It covered a whole 3 episodes of volume 3 of Rwby. I'm sure you noticed, that there are things that don't make sense in this chapter. I promise they'll make sense later in the story. I also wanted to try and switch things up a bit with Pyrrha leaving early and Penny not getting ripped in half. Since Penny's still intact at this point, just assume she's helping the others.
We're getting close to the climax of volume 3, this is where the story will differ from cannon as I have something a little different in mond for Pyrrha. Same with Cinder. Emerald will re enter the story, but she's been taken out of it for the moment, it may be better for her anyways lol. We'll see what happens with Pyrrha and Cinder next chapter...
Next time: Chapter 24: Battle of Beacon II; Elven Rage
