Chapter 197: 190 Hunt
In Hartford, Connecticut, two young men wearing identical short-sleeved pullover shirts and cargo shorts hurriedly stopped outside a desolate suburban mansion.
The young man with dark skin and a tall physique was impatient; he was about to barge into the compound that appeared heavily guarded. "The guys must be inside, let's send them off," he said.
The somewhat skinny young man, however, grabbed the arm of the taller one, advising, "Don't rush. Let's scout around first. It's not good to startle them prematurely."
The taller one pinched his nose, complaining, "You're such a hassle."
The slim Caucasian-looking young man only smiled, responding, "That's what the combat manual says."
The taller one knew they would undergo a review after their mission. If any of his actions during the mission did not comply with the rules, it would spell trouble. He had grown up on a vast plain with few rules to abide by and still found it difficult to adapt to this new planet.
His skinny partner, on the other hand, quickly became accustomed to everything, and the two of them started working together.
There were over twenty such pairs formed by the Chancellor of the Iridium Star.
The tall one was Hasan, and the skinny young man was Reeldzer—one a potential Prophet from the grasslands and the other a mediocre Fire Element sorcerer apprentice from the Northern Continent. Now, they shared the same identity—special agents of the Star Warriors from the Iridium Star United Empire Stellar Transmission Academy.
After Bai Zhongqi had subjugated hundreds of Emerald Sea Star's Star Warriors, he decided not to manage the Star Warriors using the traditional methods of the Stellar Transmission Academy. Star Warriors were originally more autonomous with many privileges. The current Academy was something between a military and an intelligence organization, with Bai Zhongqi as its supreme leader.

The commands of the Chancellor alone were to be obeyed by hundreds of Star Warriors.
Nan Ma, with ultimate power, now acted as a high-level consultant at the Academy, not involving himself in its operations, showcasing the wisdom of this master Star Warrior.
In the Deep Sleep System, Hasan and Reeldzer learned Earth's languages and cultures, mastered various knowledge from Iridium Star, and most importantly, grasped more skills about Star Energy from the Academy.
Although one was a mid-level Star Warrior and the other still at a beginner stage, equipped with various Iridium Star technological devices, they were undoubtedly among the most exceptional agents in the Universe.
Without any visible movement from Hasan, his figure gradually vanished into the air. Reeldzer was particularly envious since he had yet to master this skill; his invisibility relied on the optic camouflage equipment he wore.
Hasan waved his hand releasing two Wolf Spirits, a skill he had mastered while still a Prophet, now refined to perfection. He could command these invisible Wolf Spirits to perform various tasks like scouting.
The Wolf Spirits crossed the mansion's fence unhindered, entering the yard without triggering any cameras or security systems. These Wolf Spirits were essentially gatherings of air formed by Star Energy, capable of being tangible or intangible. Since Star Energy could manipulate matter and energy, when it compressed air around the wolf claws, it could create extremely sharp blades.
The application of force could destroy even the sturdiest materials.
The choice of Wolf Spirits over any other spirits like Cat Spirits or Cow Spirits depended solely on personal preferences of the Star Warrior.
One Wolf Spirit jumped to the second floor of the villa, peered inside a window, and saw the scene within. The quite erotic sight startled the relatively innocent Hasan; the intertwined bodies of men and women in disarray suggested a night of excess. Bottles of liquor, each worth no less than 3000 US Dollars if Hasan had been Earth-born, cluttered the tables.
A sophisticated bong for consuming marijuana lay in a corner, while a small coffee table held a credit card alongside some white powder.
Disgusted, Hasan said to Reeldzer, "They must be inside, Brain Worms indulging in sensory pleasures creating such a chaotic party, it must be Brain Worms."
Reeldzer replied, "That might not be the case. Let's investigate."
Reeldzer released a Dragonfly Drone, which after enhancements could perform extremely precise scans to determine if a person was infested by a Brain Worm.
After flying into the house and thoroughly scanning everyone, Reeldzer confirmed, "Fifteen people inside, among them three men and two women are Brain Worms."
Hasan jumped up, exclaiming, "What are we waiting for? Take them all out!"
Once again, Reeldzer stopped Hasan, saying, "The others in the house are innocent. If they wake up to a bloody scene with dead worms pulled from people's brains, they will be utterly terrified. We should move the innocents out before we act."
Hasan, frustrated, said, "You still worry about useless things. Our task couldn't be simpler, just to kill the designated Brain Worms; we really shouldn't bother with the rest."
Reeldzer, being kind-hearted, still insisted on his view. With no other option, Hasan agreed to divide the tasks—he would handle the Brain Worms, and Reeldzer would move the people outside the house.
He manipulated the Wolf Spirits to enter the mansion, slashed the crown of a victim's head with a Brain Worm infestation with one precise move of his razor-sharp wolf claws. The cut was so accurate it even severed the host's neural connections, preventing the Brain Worm from making the host scream.
The Brain Worm woke up to find it had left its host. As these parasitic creatures cannot efficiently absorb oxygen on their own, the Brain Worm's largely brain-composed body would quickly die from lack of oxygen.
Skilfully, Hasan used an air-tight space to constrict this Brain Worm in a vacuum, where its screams couldn't be heard and, lacking oxygen, it soon died.
Hasan used the same method with the other Brain Worms, clean and simple, and importantly, he preserved their bodies as intact as possible according to the mission's instructions.
The preserved bodies weren't for scientific research but were left intentionally at the "crime scene." Leaving these dead Brain Worms for others to see was deliberate.
Reeldzer took out his phone and anonymously tipped off the local police. When the police arrived, they couldn't believe what they saw. Reeldzer's action of removing the people from the house was merely to keep ordinary folks out of this affair.
