Chapter 148: 148. Lin Xiaohan's Resentment
"Hee hee hee, forget it, Mr. Liu. You should give it to Manager Lin and Manager Jiang. I'm just joking. Goodbye!"
After saying this with a smile, Samantha quickly walked away, her high heels clicking as she left. She was worried that if Mr. Liu reacted poorly, she might have to deal with the consequences.
It felt exciting to tease the boss and run away!
Jason Liu stood there, dumbfounded, watching as Samantha disappeared into the elevator. In the end, he could only sigh and head toward the company with the packed box in his hand.
What else could he do?
It was a losing situation!
Now, he would have to invite people to lunch!
Serves him right for being teased!
He sighed again, thinking that this girl had clearly learned from Jiang Chuchu. Jason Liu walked into the company and saw that the workstation was empty. He realized that he might be running late, and that Lin Xiaohan and Jiang Chuchu had probably already left.
If he was lucky, maybe he could catch them just in time.
But there was no hope—he had gotten caught up in "five three three," and it was just too good to resist.
He knocked on the finance room door and opened it. The only person inside was Emily, and Lin Xiaohan had probably already left.
At that moment, Emily was eating instant noodles at her desk, watching a drama on her phone.
When she noticed the door open, she quickly turned off her phone. She had been startled by Jason Liu walking in.
"Don't turn it off, it's time for a break!" Jason Liu said casually as he noticed her trying to hide her phone.
"Mr. Liu…" Emily stammered. She turned off her phone and stood up, speaking cautiously.
"Has Manager Lin already left for the day?" Jason Liu asked as he casually glanced around the room.
"Mm, she went to dinner with Manager Jiang," Emily replied, nodding. She glanced at the lunch box in Jason Liu's hand.
Jason Liu heard that the two of them were already out for dinner, so the noodles he brought them were no longer needed.
Noticing the instant noodles on Wang Lin's desk, he smiled and placed the noodles in front of her.
"I originally brought these fried noodles for Lin Xiaohan and Jiang Chuchu," he explained. "Since they're out, you can have them! It's better than instant noodles, after all."
Without waiting for Emily to respond, Jason Liu put the bag down and left.
"Hey…" Emily started to say, but seeing that Mr. Liu was already leaving, she closed her mouth.
"Forget it. Fried noodles are still better," she muttered to herself.
She pushed up her thick glasses, opened the bag, and saw two boxes of fried noodles inside. A bitter smile appeared on her delicate face. "It's just too much... I can't finish it all!"
Jason Liu went back to his office, turned on the computer, and started checking the purchasing reports from the department. Everything seemed normal except for a few minor issues with paper, pens, soap, and toothpaste. The manufacturer had confirmed that they were still working on producing the next batch of items.
The previous order he placed was quite large—almost at the million-unit level. The smaller factories he worked with couldn't handle that many units at once, so they were only able to complete one batch at a time.
However, William , the owner of the soap factory, had promised that they would keep expanding their production by adding more machines and workers to meet the increasing demands of Fusion Trade.
Jason Liu was impressed with William's efforts. He hadn't expected his soap orders to grow so large, reaching up to 5 million yuan. At this rate, future orders might even hit tens of millions!
Just as Jason Liu was reviewing the company's recent financial information, he heard a knock on his office door. Without looking up, he called out, "Please come in!"
"Hahaha," Jiang Chuchu and Lin Xiaohan walked in together, both wearing black professional skirts.
Jason Liu looked up at them—mainly to check out Lin Xiaohan, as he wasn't really interested in Jiang Chuchu.
"Mr. Liu, you brought us lunch today!" Jiang Chuchu said, her eyes wide with surprise. "I can't believe it! You actually brought lunch for Xiaohan. What book did you read to learn how to chase girls? Is this some kind of trick?"
Lin Xiaohan's face turned slightly red, but she didn't interrupt. Instead, she looked at Jason Liu with a shy expression.
At first, Lin Xiaohan thought Jason Liu might make an effort to get close to her after she started working at the company. She imagined that he might approach her through work, give her flowers and gifts, or try to win her over with romantic gestures, just like in the romance dramas where the boss falls for the employee.
But that didn't happen.
Other than the occasional sighting of him at work, she hardly ever saw him. She couldn't even get a message from him. It felt as though he wasn't even there.
She had long given up on waiting for him to make a move. Especially since her parents often asked her about Jason Liu. Her mother even suggested she bring Jason Liu home so they could meet him.
This made Lin Xiaohan frustrated. "Why are they so eager to send me away?" she wondered. "And not even to someone I'm interested in!"
After all, this guy was still single and never made any effort to show interest in her.
Lin Xiaohan had started to doubt herself. Was she really as attractive as others said? Or was Jason Liu simply blind?
She had spent a long time re-evaluating Jason Liu. He was about 177 cm tall, which was taller than her. He was 24, one year older than her, and his appearance, while not extraordinary, was still pleasant.
He had built up his wealth from scratch, earning tens of millions in a short time. Lin Xiaohan had also heard rumors that he had some connections, which helped him rise even further in business.
But despite all of this, he still didn't take any initiative with her. After being single for over 20 years, it seemed like he had no interest in relationships, and Lin Xiaohan couldn't figure out why.
