Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Good Stuff
"Drogon, what's wrong with you? Drogon!" Daenerys felt something was wrong with Drogon as soon as she left the room. She could clearly feel the madness and violence in Drogon, and she was so scared that she slapped Drogon hard.
"Hmm?" Feeling Daenerys slapping him, Drogon turned his head and stared at Daenerys with a pair of red, fierce eyes. She was so scared that she involuntarily leaned back to avoid Drogon's fierce gaze.
"What's wrong with you, Drogon?" Daenerys was shocked and frightened. Drogon had never treated her like this before. Only Rhaegal and Viserion would occasionally treat her so fiercely when fighting for food.
Seeing that Daenerys was frightened, Drogon quickly restrained his momentum and turned around to check the surroundings.
The doors of the rooms were all open, and in front of them was a staircase leading upwards. Seeing that Drogon had gradually calmed down, Daenerys walked up the stairs holding a torch.
After walking down the spiral staircase, you will reach the hall. There is only a gray stone table in the hall. On it lies a heart that has long been rotten but is still beating. The heart is swollen and enlarged, and the purple blood vessels are still pumping blood, but no one knows where the blood is being pumped.
Through the heart, drogon seemed to see many figures, including men, women, old women and children, and they all had dull expressions without exception.
Little did Drogon know that Daenerys saw much more than he did. From time to time, she heard whispers in her ears, and similar illusions appeared again, making it difficult for her to distinguish between fantasy and reality.
Drogon was worried as he looked at Daenerys's changeable expression. Unlike in the room just now, Drogon did not fall into the illusion like Daenerys, and he didn't know what she was going through.
Just when he didn't know what to do, he saw Daenerys looking around with horror on her face, scratching her body with her hands, as if her body was crawling with maggots.
There are too many strange methods in this world. Drogon doesn't know whether this hall has the means to kill humans on the spiritual level, and he doesn't dare to take the risk.
It flew to the side of the rotten heart and black and red dragon flames spurted out. As soon as the flames touched the heart, Drogon heard all kinds of screams coming from the heart, including male, female and even children's voices.
Burning a heart consumes more dragon flame than burning several people. Seeing the heart turning into ashes bit by bit, Drogon was surprised to find that there were little white lights floating above the heart.
He thought he was seeing things, so he blinked his eyes to see more clearly, but the light spot actually floated towards him.
What is that? He quickly dodged backwards, but the light spot seemed to have eyes and flew straight towards him, several times faster than before, and instantly sank into his body.
[Grass] drogon couldn't help but say the word dirty.
What good could come out of such a weird heart?
However, when the light entered his body, he felt extremely comfortable, as if he was soaking in a hot spring.
He could also clearly feel that his skin, bones, hardness, and magic power had increased by two or three times.
How could such an ugly thing contain such a good thing? Only then did Drogon realize that what he had just absorbed was the purest energy of the rotten heart, and that it also contained something he could not explain.
Carefully feeling the changes in his body, he was actually aware that there seemed to be an extra white ball of light in his brain, about the size of a soybean, quietly staying there.
What is this? It should be those light spots that have changed. He can't touch them. I hope there is nothing bad. His body has become stronger because of the light spots. Drogon is not too worried about it.
Daenerys woke up immediately after her heart was burned. She looked at the pile of ashes on the table with lingering fear. If it weren't for Drogon, she probably wouldn't have woken up.
Now she just wanted to leave here quickly. She picked up the torch from the ground and quickly walked down the spiral staircase. The doors she had just opened had disappeared, and only the front was covered by white light.
As soon as she ran to the white light, she saw Haiya rushing towards him with a dagger in her hand, shouting as she ran: "What did you do to the immortals? I'm going to kill you!" Her movements were stiff like a puppet, no longer as swift and calm as before.
Before he could run to Daenerys, he was hit by a breath of dragon fire from Drogon. He fell to the ground howling with his dagger held high. The air was not filled with the smell of burnt meat, but a stench of decay. Daenerys did not stop and rushed out of the door past the wizard.
Rakharo, who was anxiously looking for Daenerys outside, saw her and Drogon and hurried over to greet them.
"Let's go! Let's go back quickly." The wizard was one of the Thirteen Giants. Drogon not only killed him but also burned the immortals to death. Daenerys didn't know how the royal family and other giants would deal with them, so she had to go back as soon as possible.
Half an hour later, Daenerys saw that Jorah and the others were safe and sound, and they both breathed a sigh of relief.
"Pack your things and leave here as soon as possible," Daenerys said to Jorah.
"Where are we going?"
"Go find Xaro!"
Jorah looked at Daenerys in surprise, then quickly ordered the Dothraki to pack their bags.
Ten minutes later, it was getting dark. Daenerys divided the people into two groups. The women and children were escorted to the dock by several Dothraki warriors. Daenerys led three dragons, Jorah and more than 20 people to charge towards the manor where Xaro lived.
With Drogon as the vanguard and dragon flame leading the way, they quickly broke into Xaro's residence. Most of Xaro's men were frightened by the dragon's might and laid down their weapons and surrendered. Those who resisted were killed directly, and Xaro was captured alive.
Daenerys originally had a good impression of Xaro. Although she knew that he had ulterior motives in using Sumai to lead her and others into the city, she almost married him. However, she did not expect that his proposal would fail and he would resort to robbery and murder. If it were not for Drogon, she might have nothing now.
"Daenerys, spare my life and I will give you all the ships I have." Xaro, wearing pajamas, had long lost his former elegance and turned into a poor creature begging for his life.
"Blood of my blood!"
Lacarlo stepped forward, pulled out a dagger, and stabbed Xaro in the chest. Xaro opened his mouth and finally fell to the ground powerlessly.
"Take away all the gold, jewelry and prisoners!" Jorah shouted, and the Dothraki cheered and searched everywhere for the treasures left by Xaro. This was what they were best at and what they liked to do the most.
There were so many things in Xaro's mansion, including gold and silver items, bronze artifacts, and the Dothraki wanted to take everything away, but time was limited and some items were so large that they could only reluctantly use daggers to pry off the valuable gems and take them away.
As the search was nearing its end, Daenerys received a message from the royal family of Qarth, asking them to leave Qarth as soon as possible, as they were not welcome there.
The Tourmaline Brotherhood was also planning to ambush them, but they had not yet obtained the consent of the remaining eleven great leaders. If Xaro and the wizard Baya had not dealt with Daenerys first, they would not be able to leave Qarth now.
Qarth is a commercial city, and the thirteen great lords are all trying to maintain their superficial credibility. Xaro and the wizard took the first action in public and failed to succeed, which in itself violated the rules of exchange. If the royal family and the remaining eleven great lords take action against Daenerys again, then the credibility of their city will be greatly affected.
Of course, one of the main reasons why the royal family and the eleven giants gave in was because of the three dragons, whose terrifying destructive power had threatened them and the city.
When Jorah explained this to Daenerys, she was immediately excited. The little dragons had become a major fighting force for her.
However, she also knew that the patience of the Qarth leaders was limited and they could not stay here for long, so she led the Dothraki and drove the captives to the dock.
