Strong

Keifer's POV

Nightmare! This is what I'm experiencing now. Dad's
attacks on Mom are getting worse. It's gotten to the point where he's getting sick. And it's annoying that I can't
do anything. I just don't understand why Mom is still staying at home if that's what's being done to her. It's
annoying! "Brother... Your friends are here." Keigan called me. He was the only one! Something is wrong with
him. Keigan was quiet and seemed always occupied. I told him to stay away from Dylan but I always saw
them together. "You don't want to join us?" I asked him while getting dressed."No. I want to stay here with
Mom." He answer and walk away. I also want to stay with Mom but I can't. Every time I see her, I just feel bad.
Why is she so persistent here? With Dad? I've asked her a few times but she only has one answer. 'Your Dad
and I will be okay too'. Which is obviously not happening. I walk out of my room. They're at the entrance door.
As usual... Percy with his smiling face, Aries with his serious one and Yuri with the poker face. We've been
riends for more than one year now. They always pick me up here at the house. No one can drive us. I'm close
to them when I hear a very familiar voice. "Keifer, where do you think your going?" " Out with my friends." I
answer Dad quickly. "Are you going out too soon?" "Why? Are you going to lock me up here at home too?" I ask
boredly. He look at me straight in the eye. I know I'm being rude when I answer him. But I can't stand it
anymore. "I don't like the way you talk to me." "And I don't like talking to you." I said and walked out of the
house. The three of them immediately followed me. "Aren't you afraid of your Dad?" Aries asked me. "No.
Why?" "We're afraid of him." Percy said and laughed. I wish everyone would laugh that easily. We got into Yuri's
car. Their driver is our usual companion in these kinds of fights. Wherever we go. Just get away from this pest
house! "Where are we going now?" Yuri asked. "Let's go somewhere fun. We need to celebrate." Percy said.
"Celebrate?" "Yes! Did you forget what day it is?" He asked us.
Aries and Yuri looked at each other. We couldn't get what
he was saying. What day is it today?
"Nothing to worry about? You guys are really serious!" Percy said annoyed.
"Is it your birthday?" Aries asked.
He immediately shook his head. "Today is our anniversary! We've been
riends for 2 years!"
"Ahhh..." We said in unison while nodding.
"What is that?! Isn't our friendship important to you?!"
He still had his arms crossed while looking straight ahead.
"What is that? Relationship? Counting?" Aries asked.
"Yes! That's why you should kiss me!" Percy shouted and tried to press
his muzzle against Aries.
Aries immediately pushed his face away. "Yack! Stop it!"
"That's enough... Let's just go home. Hahaoya will cook for
us." Yuri said and motioned for the driver to start the car.
It turned out that we had been together for two years. Since the day we started fighting
and getting punished by Angelo.
"Keifer." Dad called me.
I wasn't planning on showing him but he
really seemed to be waiting for me.
"Do you need something?" I ask him.
"What time is it?"
"I don't know. You're wearing a Rolex watch, why don't you look at----
"
"DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!" He shouts angrily.
His shout gives a chill on my spine. I'm still scared of him,
but I try to hide it.
"...Is that what you're learning from your friends?!"
I look away. Now my friends are blaming me. He keeps
blaming everyone. Even thought in the first place he should be the one to
blame.
"ANSWER ME KEIFER!"
"N-no."
"Didn't your Mom teach you properly?! Or maybe that's
what she's teaching you?!"
"No! Don't bring Mom into this!"
He looks at me angrily. He quickly walked towards me and the
next thing he did was something I didn't expect him to do to me.
He gave me a hard slap. I fell to the floor on my own accord.
I could feel the pain on the corner of my lips. At the same time,
my cheek went numb.
I couldn't hold back my tears and my fear of him.
I was right!
That's why he could really hurt me. Not just Mom, but me too and
probably Keigan too.
"YOU'RE STARTING TO DISRESPECT ME!
YOU MIGHT FORGET WHO I AM!" He shouted at me.
He grabbed me by the collar and slapped me in the face again.
It hurt! Too much! What he was doing hurt but it hurt even more that
I couldn't even fight him.
"KAIZER!" Mom's voice.
Dad stopped and looked at Mom angrily. Keigan followed him
without reacting.
"M-mom!"
He immediately came to me and hugged me. "Kaizer! Don't even hurt the
children!"
"That's why he's stubborn! Because you tolerate him!" He pointed at
Mom.
"But you don't have to hurt him!"
"And what am I going to do?! Praise him for what he's doing?! If
your son doesn't calm down, I'll cripple him!" He said and walked
away.
I hugged Mom tightly. I also let out all the tears
I had been hiding.
"Sssshhhh... Mom is here. He won't hurt you."
"Mom! Let's get out of here! Please!"
"Damn! Your Dad did that?!" Percy asked in shock while
looking at the bruise on my face.
"What else do you want? A picture for proof?" Aries said sarcastically.
He just received a death glare from Percy.
"He hurt you too. Aren't you going to complain yet?
You can even send your Dad to jail." Yuri said.
I shook my head. I wish we can do that but Mom don't want to. Even though
he saw what Dad did to me, he still didn't want to leave.
"It's annoying! Why is Mom putting up with that man?!"
"You won't understand because you're still young." Angelo interjected into the conversation.
"...Just pray that nothing bad happens to you,
your Mom, and your brother."
I didn't know he was listening to our conversation. I thought he was inside
the house. We were outside Aries' house.
He said he didn't want to be allowed in, so here we are and we're just outside
their house.
"But what if we can't go through the prayer?" Percy asked.
What? What if we can't?
"Let's go through the passage." Aries continued but he got a strong slap
rom Angelo.
Tsk! I don't need a joke. A way for us to get out of
Dad's dust.
If we can't leave, I hope I can defend Mom.
"Go home now! What time are you still here!"
Angelo shouted at us.
I looked at him seriously. "Angelo..." He looked at me and the others.
"...teach me to be strong."
"Huh?"
"I want to be strong! If Mom doesn't want to leave Dad, then
I'll find a way to defend her! So please! Help me!" I pleaded.
He crossed his arms and faced me. He was obviously not happy with what
I said.
I've seen him fight with many people before. He was alone
but he managed to knock them down. That's no joke! And that's what
I want to learn.
"That's not like that. I can't teach you." He told me seriously.
"Just teach me to fight!" I insisted. "...Please! Angelo!"
"Keifer----"
"Us too!" Percy snapped.
"We should too!" Aries said.
"YOU STOP IT!" He shouted at us angrily. "...I'm not going
to teach you anything! Go home!"
He suddenly went inside and slammed the gate shut.
We were left standing outside, looking stupid.
"If he doesn't want to teach us, let's go. There's a Karate school
near us." Percy said.
This Karate has been going on for too long. They only teach the basics
. They say it's too early and our bodies are still immature to
teach us heavy tricks. It's
annoying!
I need something quick. How are Dad going to hurt us again?
I collapsed onto the bed. I almost rolled over from being so annoyed.
But tired, my eyes fell open and I fell asleep
quickly.
I don't know how long I had been asleep but a voice
woke me up.
"Keifer... Wake up..."
"Mom?"
"Get up please... Get your things." He ordered and continued
to enter my walk-in closet.
I got up and rubbed my eyes. There I saw Keigan
and Mom clearly taking my things.
"W-what are you doing?"
"We're leaving..." Keigan quickly answered.
Leaving?
Was I dreaming? Is this true? We're leaving?
"Please Keifer... Get up and help us." Mom said.
I immediately stood up and helped them. I didn't plan on bringing
everything. I just took the essentials and left the unnecessary ones
.
I wanted to get out of here right away. This is what I wanted to happen.
It happened!
We immediately went out carrying our belongings.
Another maid and butler helped us get our belongings out and into the car.
"Mom... What's going on? Why are we leaving?" I asked.
Mom didn't answer so I just kept quiet. Maybe
she didn't want to tell me the truth.
"I had enough with your Dad." She said that made me stop and look at
her. "...I thought what he did to you was good. And I can't forgive
myself for letting him do that to you."
I saw Mom wiping away her tears. It hurt more than the slap that
Dad gave me. And I hate myself for seeing her like this.
"I'm sorry Mom."
