Genius Triplets' Matchmaking Mission: Hiring A CEO Daddy

Chapter 7: Hiring a Daddy.

Luca's POV

I couldn't stop thinking about that man. Even before we got in the car, I'd heard the reporters shouting things, something bad about his girlfriend being with another man. That was rude to be asked or even mentioned. They broke his heart.

I didn't really understand what all that meant… but in my heart, I already knew one thing:

I wanted him to be my daddy.

At night after a warm bath, Mommy kissed us and put us in bed. When she turned the lights off, the room went dim, except for the soft glow of Luna's flashlight. She always turned it on like it was a campfire, even when it wasn't bedtime yet. She was afraid of the dark and couldn't sleep without hugging her flashlight.

"Why do you keep looking for a daddy?" she whispered, aiming the light at my face. I closed my eyes.

"Grandpa Bryant already tries to set Mommy up on dates, and she hates it. Is it not better if we find the perfect daddy, ourselves?" I drawled like it was the only logical idea on the table.

She sounded annoyed, like she was scolding me. I knew she didn't want to share our Mommy with anyone. Neither did Leo. But even Mommy had a daddy once. So why didn't we…have…one?

"Is this because of those dumb kids at school?" Leo grumbled from the top bunk, his voice low and sharp.

Luna pointed the flashlight at him now, lighting up his serious little face like he was some tiny devil in the dark.

"We taught them a lesson, remember?" Leo muttered. "No one bullies us now."

I shook my head slowly. "It's not just that…"

Because I knew, deep down, it wouldn't stop. Not really. Not until we had a daddy. Someone strong. Someone who could protect Mommy the way she always protected us. We were just little kids.

"They'll keep mocking us," I whispered. "And they'll say bad things about Mommy, again and again."

And we could never tell her. Because if she knew… it would break her heart.

"Wait a sec!" Luna whispered, narrowing her eyes like a baby detective. She turned the flashlight on herself, casting a dramatic glow under her chin. "When we were at the airport… Did you spot someone good?"

I nodded slowly. "Yeah. But he had a girlfriend… I didn't even ask his name."

I paused, huffing, more sighing. That part still stung.

"But I heard something," I added quickly. "One of the reporters said…"

"Wait…reporter?" Luna sat up straight. Her voice turned sharp, her little brain already putting the puzzle pieces together.

"You asked that famous man?" she gasped, cutting me off.

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah."

Honestly, how could I not? He looked so much like us. Even if he wasn't our daddy… no one could say he didn't look like one.

Luna slapped a hand over her mouth, trying to hold back a squeal. It buzzed at the edge of her lips like a balloon about to burst.

I hissed, "Shh! Don't expose us!"

"Come down, come down!" She demanded, and we gathered under her blanket, Leo not so eager. Her eyes sparkled under the blanket. "I know him! I was gonna tease you about it, but now you look so serious… I feel kinda bad. I saw his face when we were sitting in the car."

Typical Luna. She always loved acting like she knew things we didn't. It made her feel like the boss, even though she still needed help tying her shoelaces half the time. Right then, Gray crawled under the blanket with us. The fluffy kitten snuggled right onto Leo's lap like he belonged there. He loved Leo more than us. Kittens like mysterious kids?!

And I just stared at Luna. How on earth did she know a man like that?

She was just a child model, not even famous yet! Just appeared in a few toy magazines and picture books!

"What?" I blinked at her, dazed, I wanted it to be true. My eyes flicked to Leo for backup, but he just shrugged like it didn't matter. Classic!

"I didn't even ask his name, do you know his name?" I muttered, pouting. "Didn't think I needed to. But how do you know him?"

Luna puffed her cheeks with pride. "He's Alexander Song. Super strong. He trains bodyguards and everything."

She grabbed her gaming tablet and quickly typed in his name, her eyes sparkling like she was solving a mystery.

"You've never had a bodyguard," I frowned. "How do you even know about this stuff?"

"Auntie does," she said smugly. "When she's out in public, one of them is always around."

Leo let out a tiny scoff and stood up, scooping Gray into his arms like the kitten was his emotional support pillow.

"I'm not interested," he muttered, already walking toward the door. "Going to get some orange juice."

He didn't even glance back. Just… poof, gone. That was Leo for you.

He didn't say much. But he heard everything. I could tell he'd caught every single word we'd said, and I knew he'd already tucked it away somewhere in that secret genius brain of his. He'd figure something out. He always did.
