Genshin Impact: Tragedy Life Simulator

Chapter 88: Chapter 88

After spending the entire day poring through ancient medical texts, Baizhu finally arrived at Kael's room.

The moment he laid eyes on Kael's face, he frowned deeply.

"What happened to you today?"

"What's wrong?"

Baizhu approached Kael's bedside and took his pulse.

"Your vitality is severely drained—your condition has worsened considerably since yesterday! This pulse... it's that of a dying man!"

Qiqi took out her small notebook and slowly flipped through it, turning to Baizhu and saying solemnly, "Qiqi recorded the patient's condition today... Mr. Kael lost a lot of blood today... His eyes, ears, nose, and mouth... all bled... A lot... A lot..."

Kael gave Qiqi a helpless glance.

Seriously, Qiqi? Of all the things to write down clearly, you had to choose this?

The part about him bleeding from all orifices was recorded in vivid detail.

Baizhu grew visibly irritated, a stark contrast to his usual gentle and refined demeanor. "No wonder! The internal bleeding in your brain has reversed and ruptured a major artery!"

"How can you even open your eyes and speak right now? This is completely abnormal!"

"If this continues, you'll definitely die within a week! Then my research can't continue!"

Oh, so that's why you're so angry—you're worried about losing a test subject.

That explained a lot.

Kael clearly remembered that Baizhu, despite his excellent medical skills, wasn't exactly a selfless or heroic individual.

Why else would he get so worked up over Kael's condition?

Now the reason was clear.

"From now on, you must stay in bed and rest quietly. You absolutely cannot leave Bubu Pharmacy."

Facing Baizhu's fiery glare, Kael replied half-heartedly, "Alright, I'll do as you say, Doctor Baizhu."

Inwardly, however, he was already planning how to spend his remaining days.

Just as he'd expected, this situation was similar to his previous life simulation.

The amount of time left in his Sensory Mode would manifest in the simulation as some form of physical crisis.

Last time, it had been karmic corruption of his soul. This time, it was a ruptured artery in his brain.

His remaining lifespan was nearly identical to the time left in his Sensory Mode.

If that was the case, he needed to cherish the little time he had left.

Early the next day, Baizhu again buried himself in ancient texts, leaving only Qiqi to care for Kael.

"Qiqi, I'd like to go outside for a bit," Kael said.

"No... Baizhu instructed... Mr. Kael can't leave the room..."

"I'll give you coconut milk. Can you carry me out for just a short walk?"

Qiqi tilted her head, giving Kael an innocent, wide-eyed stare. "No... I promised Baizhu... You're not allowed to leave..."

In Qiqi's mind, Baizhu's orders held absolute priority. No matter how Kael coaxed or bargained, she stubbornly refused.

Kael fell back onto the bed in frustration.

Being paralyzed really was inconvenient—he didn't even have freedom to move around.

Baizhu really was quite sinister. He had originally come here to recover from his injuries, but now he felt more like a prisoner.

"Kael, I'm back!"

Just as Kael lay on his bed brooding, the door to his room swung open.

Yanfei, looking worn and dusty from her hurried journey, stepped inside.

Behind her followed a dignified-looking young man with a powerful aura.

"Father, this is Kael, the person I'd like you to help."

Yanfei's father?

Hearing this, Kael immediately sat up, bracing himself against the bed.

He carefully studied the man standing before him.

This was a character who hadn't appeared in Genshin Impact yet—Yanfei's adeptus-beast father.

"Yanfei, is this the person you've fallen for?"

While Kael was studying him, Yanfei's father was simultaneously observing Kael with equal intensity.

"Yes," Yanfei replied nervously, looking at her father with anxious eyes. "Father, please hurry and take a look at Kael. Is there any way to heal his legs?"

Her father furrowed his brow deeply, his expression turning serious and heavy.

"Yanfei, you never told me your beloved is a dying man."

"What...?" Yanfei's hopeful expression froze instantly. She stared blankly at her father, as though she hadn't understood his words.

"Father... what are you talking about...? What do you mean 'dying man'?"

Yanfei's father gave Kael another careful glance, confirming his judgment once more.

"Indeed, he's shrouded completely in deathly energy. Only someone whose life is nearing its end would exhibit such a heavy aura of death. If my estimation is correct, he has only about three days left to live."

"That... that's impossible... Father, stop joking around."

Yanfei forced a smile, but it was more painful than crying. "Father, I don't like jokes like this."

"Whether or not it's a joke, the young man lying in bed knows best."

Yanfei quickly turned her head towards Kael, tears instantly spilling from her eyes and splashing onto the floor.

Her face was deathly pale, her emerald eyes filled with disbelief.

"Kael... what's going on? Why would my father say you're dying...?"
