Chapter 624: The Secret Room of Tribulation!

As they say, time heals all wounds. The Benevolent Guardian Sect recovered from the attack with time. The destruction around the sect was restored by Wuhan, who returned to check up on the sect.

He stayed in the sect for a whole year to teach his disciples and the other disciples in the sect. Naturally, he was in his disguise, so Zhong Hua and her maid did not recognize him.

But the two of them did find their sect leader kind of sloppy. They even started doubting if they did the right thing joining the sect at first. While Noah's reward made her think their sect would be very majestic and grand, reality hit her hard when she saw the empty mansion and the training guards.

But later, she noticed that despite the number of the members of the sect, all of the disciples had the highest level of talents, and the level of resources and education she received was far greater than her previous sect.

The Alchemy classes and Artifact classes with Noah teaching everyone made her realize that she had struck gold. She was very surprised by the amount of knowledge Noah held.

Yet, she did not focus on any of these classes. Her main focus was on recovering her strength as soon as possible.

Wuhan clarified any doubts they had regarding cultivation, and he also taught runes to those who wanted to learn them. But only Ruo'er and Yuan Ming were willing to learn about the runes.

Shisan mostly focused on training by herself, while from time to time, she would help hone the skills of those who wanted to spar with her.

Naturally, she always failed to hold back.

Xin Yan was the only elder who did not teach anyone anything. She solely focused on cultivating her maid, Wu Ping, and Ruo'er.

It was not that she was being stingy, but it was that she had her own cultivation to focus on, which demanded much longer time than the rest.

Wuhan's lessons eventually had to end because he had an empire to take care of. After his departure, Old Man Ming took charge of the sect as Noah refused the responsibility.

But his lessons showed their magic. After two years of his departure, someone showed signs of a breakthrough.

The first one to break through was none other than Ma Li, who finally stabilized her cultivation at the peak of the Core Formation Realm and practiced several techniques to perfection in order to deal with the tribulation she was about to face.

Then, one day, the sky behind the sect darkened as she passed her tribulation under the watchful eyes of Noah after taking her Core Revitalization Pill. Everyone except Noah and Xin Yan was surprised to see the intensity of her tribulation.

Her body was left torn to the point the bones in her arms were visible. But Noah only needed one spell to heal her instantly.

"Noah! Fight me!" The first thing she did after the breakthrough was to challenge Noah to a battle. Everyone among the disciples was eager to see their match and started to wonder who would win.

But the match barely even started when Ma Li was seen with her face plastered on the ground and Noah sitting on her back, calmly sipping the tea in his hand.

His actions were a bit 'clumsy,' causing a bit of tea to spill on the young woman.

"Kya~ guh! You win!" Under the 'gruesome' torture that left her wet in many places, Ma Li admitted defeat, but her eyes became more fiery towards Noah. She declared she would challenge him again after consolidating her cultivation.

Seeing Ma Li's breakthrough fanned the eagerness of the rest to break through. Despite her instant loss, they were shocked to see how much power she had gained from her breakthrough.

The next ones to break through to the Golden Core Realm were Jiang Shi and Chen Xueyan. They also gained substantial power but did not challenge anyone or become complacent.

Tian Heng went next, while Yuan Ming chose to leave the sect to search for his own opportunities after he felt that he was very far away from the breakthrough.

Ruo'er was the only person left to go through the tribulation in the sect. It was not her talent that held her back, but it was Noah who asked her to wait for a while before taking the last step.

And after two months, her opportunity finally arrived!

One day, she was summoned by Noah to an area she never knew even existed. As she made her way down the dimly lit staircase, Ruo'er could not help but feel a hint of anticipation bubbling in her heart.

Just like the rest of the disciples in the sect, she also wanted to break through to the legendary level that Noah and the others had already experienced. She also wanted to fly high in the sky, feeling the unrestrained freedom she had been secretly yearning for while watching the other powerhouses flying.

Deep in her thoughts, Ruo'er did not even realize that she had arrived at the location she was called to.

Her eyes flickered to the metallic gates before her as the warm light of the fire shone on her sun-kissed face.

Ruo'er took a deep breath to calm herself and pushed the huge gates, opening them wide enough for several people to enter at the same time.

As soon as she opened the door to the secret chambers, a chilling wind breezed past her body, making her freeze in her tracks. Ruo'er stood at the periphery of the room and took in everything before her eyes.

From the aesthetics of the entrance and the coldness she felt, Ruo'er assumed whatever was inside the room would be something dark and powerful. But once she entered the room, she felt that she had failed with her guess.

The room looked like a cave beautifully carved by someone. Each section of the room was well lit with different lights. She could see images of runic symbols phasing in and out of the wall like ghosts.

These walls also had some images carved into them, paintings that showed the past, but she could only make out some parts of the images. She saw a blackened figure marching an army like a god of war.

For some reason, the images were either burnt or destroyed in several places, and she could not fully analyze them.

She turned her attention to the shining marble floor and moved it to the center of the room, where the whole vibe of the room shifted entirely.

The air inside the secret chamber was stifling, saturated with the ominous energy radiating from the very round pool of black water placed in the center of the room. Ruo'er felt her vision shifting to black and white, feeling herself drawn to it.

She forced herself to calm down and focused on the three figures around the room, looking at her patiently.

"Welcome to the Secret Room of Tribulation, Ruo'er." Noah stepped forward and welcomed her with a smile on his face. "Are you ready to become a Golden Core Level cultivator?"

"More than ever!" An uncharacteristic smile appeared on the young woman's face as she entered the room, showing her eagerness to take the next step.
