Meanwhile, Byakuya had ventured deep into the underground passageway, finding nothing but a few ghoul corpses. It was evident that the remaining ghouls had been evacuated by Aogiri Tree.

This development suited him perfectly.

However, RC cells naturally regenerate, and his RC cell reservoir also replenishes itself over time. The system effectively solved the issue of managing excess RC levels without any downsides.

Similarly, his ocular power was also drained considerably, but it, too, would recover thanks to his advanced physical attributes, which now provided a faster regenerative rate.

Kaiko frowned. The events at Cochlea had taken him by surprise.

"Yes, based on reports from Cochlea, the one leading Aogiri Tree this time wasn't the One-Eyed Owl, and their strength surpasses even the One-Eyed Owl. Furthermore, this ghoul is entirely absent from CCG records" Yoshitoki remarked with a tone of concern.

"Aogiri Tree having just the One-Eyed Owl was already troubling enough. Now, they have an even stronger ghoul? A ghoul organization with two SSS rated members simultaneously is an unprecedented threat"

"I also heard that this new figure is one-eyed as well?" Kaiko inquired.

"Indeed, the reports mentioned that the ghoul leading Aogiri Tree revealed only a single kakugan. Could it be another half-ghoul?" Yoshitoki speculated, his frustration evident.

"I've always suspected that Yoshimura isn't the One-Eyed Owl, but I've never been able to prove it. And now, a ghoul more troublesome than the Owl has appeared" Kaiko said darkly.

"No matter the truth, Aogiri Tree must now be classified as the highest-level extermination target. I'll leave this matter to Byakuya and Arima. Had that ghoul not damaged Cochlea's control systems and fled, they might have been able to take him down on the spot"

This statement revealed Kaiko's high confidence in Byakuya and Arima's abilities, oblivious to the fact that the true mastermind behind the attack on Cochlea was none other than those two.

Neither Yoshitoki nor Kaiko suspected Byakuya at all. Both men had arrived promptly at Cochlea and played critical roles in its defense.

Additionally, Byakuya's mask completely disguised his identity, and the kakuja-like form of his Susanoo bore no resemblance to the Washuu clan's distinctive features.

The Washuu clan's ghouls had recognizable traits in their kakuja forms. Moreover, half-humans couldn't develop kakuja forms unless they underwent RC organ transplantation — a procedure conducted exclusively under CCG oversight, with thorough records.

These factors entirely ruled out Byakuya as a suspect, leaving Yoshitoki and Kaiko with no reason to question him.

"For now, we have no choice but to rely on Byakuya and Arima" Yoshitoki admitted.

The V , while powerful, was too covert to be mobilized openly. Even Byakuya and Arima acted under the guise of CCG operatives.

"The ghoul we encountered today seems to be the true King' of Aogiri Tree. Since they also appear to be one-eyed, and their kagune type remains unidentified, let's temporarily assign them the SSS rated designation of One-Eyed King" Yoshitoki concluded gravely.
