Chapter 538: Stronger Recruits
One by one, the figures stepped out of the fog as their appearance became clearer. They were all confused as they took in their surroundings.
A rugged-looking man with a hunting bow over his shoulder stepped forward first. His beard was unkempt, and his clothes were already quite old barely clinging to his body.
From this, Shane could tell that he really recruited the normal ones. Nonetheless, he was still happy to see that among the normal recruits, there was actually one of them with a weapon.
"This… Is this the shelter of a Foreign Survivor?" The rugged-looking man said in admiration as he looked at the gates of the Eclipse Domain. It was undoubtedly impressive.
A middle-aged woman in a worn apron glanced around and immediately noticed the shelter's buildings. "Is this… a safe zone? Are we safe here?"
Shane smiled as he knew that they only had limited information about their situation. They were unlike higher-ranked Summons who could immediately grasp their situation.
Shane then stepped forward, making sure his stance was respectable and approachable.
"Welcome to Eclipse Domain… I'm Shane, and this is my friend… The two of us are the Foreign Survivors that you have probably heard. In any case, you've been recruited to join us. If you're willing to work and follow our rules, this place will be your new home."
Needless to say, everyone immediately agreed since they only knew about the existence of Zombies and the fact that the Foreign Survivors were here to help them.
The twenty of them don't even know each other aside from the twins.
Though they seemed to have come from the same region with the way they spoke and their attires, they had just met today.
Seeing their agreement, Shane proceeded to ask them to introduce themselves, so he could start assigning them to various tasks.
After all, the shelter was just built and they still needed several things to arrange before this could become a true settlement.
One by one, they introduced themselves.
The bearded man, Joab, was a skilled hunter and tracker, someone who could help with gathering food and dealing with threats in the wild. Of course, they won't be able to rely on his strength to deal with strong Zombies but he could at least protect himself from low-tier Zombies.
The middle-aged woman, Marla, had been a head chef in a major city before the world fell apart.
"If you have a proper kitchen, I can cook more than just survival rations. Give me ingredients, and I'll make real meals." She said with confidence.
After all, they just learned from Shane that this shelter was just established and lacking people. With that in mind, they actually felt a bit nervous.
Thankfully, however, Shane explained that this was his third Shelter and he would connect the other shelters and recruit more people soon.
Realizing that Shane could make this shelter prosperous, they immediately started introducing their strengths and capabilities to get a better position in this developing Shelter. They hoped all hoped that they could become the true pioneers of this Shelter!
A tall, lean man named Edwin stepped forward next, adjusting his pristine gloves. "I was a butler in the past. I can assist with organization, cleaning, and maintaining order in the household."
Several others followed suit.
Rosie and Camille, are twin sisters who used to work as maids before the apocalypse. Shane liked these two since they needed these maids to maintain various parts of the shelter and they would be extremely helpful.
There was also Renz, a former blacksmith who knew how to work metal and repair weapons. Renz would most likely work under Borek, once the latter arrived but for now, he would let him have the smithy.
There was Joel who had worked as a carpenter before and also Myla who was a seamstress who could repair clothes and craft fabric-based items.
They also have a fisherman but with their current location, he would not be useful so Shane assigned him to have a different work.
He also asked Lysandra to assist him with their work assignment so it was a lot easier for Shane.
The list went on. By the time they finished, it was clear that these people had skills, talents, and the ability to contribute to Eclipse Domain whether it was small or not…
"Alright," Shane said with a satisfied nod. "Let's get you all settled in. Welcome to Eclipse Domain."
Of course, Shane decided to give various food and ingredients so Marla could give them a hearty meal later on.
It took more than two hours to arrange them and have them work on their task on their own.
After that, however, Shane didn't stop recruiting people as he decided to just use the other Recruitment Stones in his possession.

Shane was now near the gate of the Eclipse Domain, holding the two Rare Recruitment Stones in his palm.
It was finally time to bring in individuals with even rarer and more specialized skills.
After taking a deep breath, he activated the two Rare Recruitment Stone.
Once again, the gray fog manifested just beyond the shelter's entrance. The swirling of the fog thickened before two figures were spat out onto the ground.
The first was a broad-shouldered man. Looking at it closely, he was actually wearing a dented and worn armor while his helmet was tucked under his arm.
"A warrior?" Shane mused as he looked at the man's appearance.
His hand instinctively went to his waist—only to find his weapon missing. His gaze then landed on Shane and the woman beside her.
The second figure was a skinny man with ink-stained hands, a chisel tucked into his belt, and an apron covered in dirt.
The armored man spoke first. "Where am I? Who's in charge? Are you the Foreign Survivor?" He asked.

Shane stepped forward. "I'm Shane, leader and the Foreign Survivor of the Eclipse Domain. You've been recruited to join us."
The man studied him before nodding. "I'm Captain Flint… No, just Flint… I was the captain of a town guard before…"
He paused and sighed as he recalled the past. "Before the dead took everything. I fought until the very end, but in the end, I was the only one left standing. I was saved by the gray fog and I didn't know how long had passed since then."
Shane nodded at this as it was quite a similar story to many.
"We could use someone like you," Shane replied with a nod.
"Since you're a captain, I'm sure you'll help defend the shelter and train our other recruits. If you're willing, you can keep your position as guard captain here and make sure no one else suffers the same fate."
Flint could tell that he had arrived in a decent shelter as he gave Shane firm nod. "If it means protecting people again… then I accept."
Shane turned to the second recruit. "And you?"
The skinny man dusted off his apron and smiled faintly. "Name's Victor Mors. I was a sculptor before the world went to hell. Not exactly a fighter, but I can shape stone, carve intricate designs, and make statues that last for centuries."
Lysandra raised an eyebrow. "What use is a sculptor in a survival shelter?" She whispered, confused as to why a Rare Recruitment Stone gave them a useless talent.
However, it was heard by Victor. Thankfully, he didn't feel offended at all.
Victor just smirked and replied. "People forget that art and craftsmanship aren't just for beauty. Statues can serve as landmarks, walls can be reinforced with proper carving, and symbols give people hope. I can make your fortress more than just a pile of bricks."
Shane liked his confidence. Every shelter needed more than just walls and weapons—it needed identity, culture, and craftsmanship. He extended a hand.
"Welcome to Eclipse Domain."
Victor took it with a grin, satisfied with Shane's reaction. He didn't detect a hint of dismay at all.
With two skilled recruits now part of the Domain, Shane moved to the next stone—the Master Recruitment Stone.
The moment he activated it, a denser gray fog erupted, before forming into a single silhouette.
The figure that emerged was a woman with silver hair, draped in a red and golden robe. What made her look really unusual was the staff with animal skulls she was holding!
It was creepy but Shane liked it even more! She seemed to be some sort of magician after all! Although she may have a different profession, he knew that those carrying such ominous staff meant that she had some sort of special or uncommon ability.
She slowly opened her eyes and exhaled. "The spirits have led me to a new land."
Shane stepped forward cautiously. "You're in Eclipse Domain. I'm Shane, the Foreign Survivor and owner of this Shelter… So... I take it you're a Shaman?"
She tilted her head, studying him with a calm expression before gently nodding...
"I am Sol..."
