Godzilla Earth: Origin

Chapter 110: Volume 2 Chapter 53: Pierce the Stars! (Part 1)

Near the Moon, far from Earth, the Ghidorah's Wings spread wide, proclaiming their arrival to the universe ahead.

They stretched and unfurled, declaring their existence to this world and the cosmos.

Thirteen Ghidorah's Wings formed a golden wall nearly hundreds of kilometers long. To those below, it appeared as if a new star had risen, illuminating all of creation!

Behold! The wings of destruction are near; they will cleanse the earth and end the sky!

Such was the message declared by their imposing presence!

But at that very moment, the world below responded!

The dawn's light pierced through the atmosphere, shooting from the heart of Australia toward the morning star's outstretched wings above!

A Petawatt-class laser scattered dazzling brilliance through the atmosphere, shining so intensely that it turned the morning skies of Australia into darkness for three whole seconds!

In the span of one second, the concentrated light traveled across the vast distance of 300,000 kilometers before striking the Ghidorah's Wings descending from the morning star.

Above, the light of the morning star grew even brighter.

But it wasn't the destructive light of the Ghidorah's Wings intending to obliterate the world—it was the radiance of the planet's counterattack!

For three continuous seconds, a laser beam with a power exceeding 4 Petawatts crossed the 300,000-kilometer gap from Australia to strike the Ghidorah's Wings in lunar orbit!

The beam targeted the leader among the fourteen Ghidorah's Wings.

In just one-tenth of a second—merely one-tenth of a second after the high-energy laser touched its body—the Ghidorah's Wings, which had spread its wings and was preparing to reposition, suffered a critical hit.

"Angh!"

Though its cry of pain could not be heard in the vacuum of space, it could be seen through light and perspective. Satellites around the Moon captured that sublime moment.

The highly concentrated beam penetrated the creature's body, burning a hole 20 to 30 meters in diameter straight through its chest from front to back in an instant.

The armored chestplate in front sublimated into high-temperature vapor, and violent reactions erupted inside the Ghidorah's Wings body. It radiated intense, immeasurable light—but that wasn't the end!

Since the Ghidorah's Wings was moving through space at several kilometers per second, its own motion caused the laser's point of impact to shift as the beam remained active.

As a result, the laser's cutting point moved upward, slicing from its chest to its shoulder before finally dissipating into the void of space.

A steady stream of vapor and gas emanated from the Ghidorah's Wings body, creating a brilliant trail of light in the vacuum of space.

At the head of the trail, the wounded Ghidorah's Wings had lost its balance.

Pulled by gravity, it began to fall toward the nearby Moon, tracing an arc like an aurora streaming toward the lunar surface.

The extreme heat sublimated its exterior, while parts of its interior boiled away, turning into molten metal.

There was no doubt—it was gravely injured.

But it was only gravely injured.

"Angh!"

In the void, the Ghidorah's Wings other still-functional wing-tip vented its internal excess heat—it wasn't dead yet! It could still stabilize its trajectory!

Give it a few hundred seconds, and it could realign its orbit.

Given more time, it could even regenerate most of its body—except for the hole through its chest. Although its chest and shoulder had been sliced open, they weren't completely severed!

Just a little more time!

Zhew—

From the ground, a second beam of light erupted!

Once again, it came from the heart of Australia. Deep within a dark-green chamber, the focusing lens had been replaced.

Thus, the second strike commenced.

Once more, the beam illuminated the Australian clouds brighter than midday, piercing through the clouds and atmosphere along a new trajectory to strike the same target!

This time, the result was—

Szzzzzzzzzz—

Though silent, the scene conveyed the outcome vividly.

The already critically injured Ghidorah's Wings was hit again, its chest once more pierced. But this time, because its trajectory had been carefully calculated, the laser beam followed the path of its previous wound.

This time, the already sublimated injury was fully penetrated.

And the damage was far more extensive.

The new beam followed the old path, cutting through every burned inch of the wound, severing it completely.

From its left chest to its right wing, a wound over a hundred meters long cleaved it entirely in two.

The Ghidorah's Wings body could no longer hold itself together. One entire wing and the lower half of its body were now completely severed from the upper half!

Its body was completely split in two.

Its molten internal organs vaporized into a bright cloud of steam and metallic droplets, which scattered through space and reflected light onto the Moon.

Satellites on the Moon captured the scene—an exquisite, radiant cloud.

It was so beautiful, so brilliant.

The lower half of the Ghidorah's Wings body began falling toward Earth, though its trajectory had shifted somewhat.

However, the separation from its upper half caused it to return, transforming it into a meteor heading for the ground.

Meanwhile, the upper half, caught by the Moon's gravity, would soon crash onto the lunar surface, becoming the first corpse on the Moon's soil. When that happened, humanity would have something to study.

Completely severed in half, this Ghidorah's Wings was now dead.

And from the first laser strike to now, less than sixty seconds had passed.

On Earth, humans underground watched the images transmitted from lunar satellites.

They saw this strike from across 300,000 kilometers. They saw the sublime cloud. They saw the severed corpse of the Ghidorah's Wings, destroyed by an ultra-high-powered laser.

Their hands and hearts trembled as one.

Meanwhile, in space, the remaining thirteen Ghidorah's Wings let out a silent howl. Through electromagnetic waves, they linked their minds, trying to coordinate themselves.

And then, a new formation took shape.
