Going Digital

The kids and their partner Digimon continue to travel up the volcano, stopping every now and then to take sips of water to beat the heat of the molten lava below them.

"I hope we don't run out of water before we get to Taomon." said Clyde.

"Yeah, I don't want my perfect skin to dry out." said Rusty.

"Whatever, Rusty." said Stella.

"The sooner we find this Taomon guy, the sooner we can, hopefully, get back to our world." said Lincoln.

"I wonder if we have to fight other Digimon before we get to Taomon." said Zach.

"Probably." replied Stella.

"Well, let's get going then before any show up." said Lincoln. Everyone put their water canteens away and continued to walk, unaware of something watching them from atop a ledge.

"So, Lincoln; you think that smart sister of yours is trying to find us?" asked Liam.

"Probably." replied Lincoln.

"I hope she does soon; it would save us the trouble of walking in this heat." said Rusty.

"Let's just keep going." said Zach. The group continued walking; as they did, they see some small rocks falling from atop a ledge they were walking past, causing them to stop. They look up to see a bipedal Digimon with a body covered in flames, a tail, long claws at the end of its fingers, and a metal mask covering the top half of its head looking down at them.

"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he takes out his Digivice and points it at the Digimon. "That's Flarerizamon, Champion Level, Fire Type, Data Attribute; special attack, Tower of Fire." Flarerizamon jumps down from the ledge it was on and lands in front of the group.

"You guys think this here Digimon's we have to tussle with to get to Taomon?" asked Liam.

"Yes, humans; unless you can defeat me, you are unworthy of being in the presence of Taomon." replied Flarerizamon.

"Well, I guess we'll have to prove our worth then." replied Lincoln. The rest of the group pulled their Digivices as their Digimon partners run in between them and Flareizamon. The kids Digivices began to glow, and they pushed the glowing buttons; the Digimon all began to spin around.

"Agumon, Digivolve to..." said Agumon as he continued to spin, then stops when he Digivolves. "GeoGreymon!"

"Gaomon, Digivolve to..." said Gaomon as he spins and stops when he Digivolved. "...Gaogamon!"

"Kudamon, Digivolve to..." said Kudamon as he spins until he Digivolved. "...Reppamon!"

"Elecmon, Digivolve to..." said Elecmon as he spins until he Digivolved. "...Leomon!"

"Lalamon, Digivolve to..." said Lalamon as she continues spinning until she Digivolved. "...Sunflowmon!"

"Gotsumon, Digivolve to..." said Gotsumon as he spins until he Digivolved. "Golemon!"

The group's Digimon charged at Flarerizamon who charges at them in response.

"Horn Impulse!" said GeoGreymon as he charges at Flarerizamon; as GeoGreymon got near Flarerizamon, it ducks out of the way of GeoGreymon's attack, then it claws GeoGreymon across his chest, making him stagger back while covering his chest with one of his hands.

"Be careful, guys; those claws are hot!" said GeoGreymon while wincing in pain.

"Gaoga Hound!" said Gaogamon, pouncing at Flarerizamon with his teeth bared; Flarerizamon jumps to the side and dodges him, then slashes his side with its claws; Gaogamon falls to the ground.

"Lion Sword!" said Leomon as he runs at Flarerizamon while drawing out his sword; he swings at Flarerizamon who parried it with its claws, and then claws him across the chest when it sees an opening. Leomon stumbles back while covering his chest.

"Cactus Tail!" said Sunflowmon, swinging her tail and releasing thorns from them at Flarerizamon; it charges at Sunflowmon while swatting the thorns away from it, then it claws Sunflowmon's chest, knocking her back while covering her chest.

"Razor Wind!" said Reppamon as he shakes his tail, releasing a blade of wind at Flarerizamon; it claws through the attack.

"Blaze Burster!" said Flarerizamon as it opens its mouth and fires fireballs from it and they hit Reppamon, knocking him back.

"Rock Punch!" shouts Golemon as it punches Flarerizamon across its face.

"Not bad." said Flarerizamon. "Thrusting Rush!" It charges at Golemon and rams his chest with its metal head, knocking him over.

"Golemon!" shouts Zach.

"I'm fine, Zach." said Golemon as he gets up off the ground.

"Not for long!" shouts Flarerizamon. "Tower of Fire" It releases a powerful blast of fire from its entire body at the group's Digimon, knocking them all down.

"Be careful, guys!" said Lincoln. The Digimon slowly get up and stand ready for battle.

"How can we beat this guy?" asked Rusty.

"We need to stop those claws!" said Clyde. "While they're out of the way, we'll strike!"

"Leomon, use your sword to block one of his hands!" said Rusty.

"Reppamon, use your tail to block the other one." said Liam.

"You got it!" said Leomon and Reppamon in unison.

"Spinning Tackle!" shouts Reppamon as it spins forward at one of Flarerizamon's arms.

"Lion Sword!" shouts Leomon as he unsheathes his sword and swings it at the other of Flarerizamon's arms. Both his and Reppamon's attacks each collide with a set of Flarerizamon's claws, making its arms spread out.

"Hit it now!" shouts Stella.

"You got it! Sunshine Beam!" shouts Sunflowmon as she releases a powerful beam of light from her face that hits Flarerizamon's face, making its head tilt back.

"Horn Impulse!" shouts GeoGreymon as he charges at Flarerizamon and rams into its chest, making it stagger back.

"Dash Double Claw!" shouts Gaogamon as he moves faster than the eye can see and slashes Flarerizamon's chest, leaving an x-shaped mark across it.

"Powerful Punch!" shouts Golemon as it gathers energy into one of his fists and punches Flarerizamon in the mark that Gaogamon made, sending it flying off the platform they were on, into the magma below. The group's Digimon return to their rookie forms as they and the kids look down over the ledge.

"Do you think it's beaten?" asked Clyde.

"It fell into lava, dude." said Rusty.

"Yeah, but its body was practically made of fire; this is probably just a nice bath for it." said Stella.

"Just go on, already!" they hear Flarerizamon call out, making them look to see it climbing onto a large rock sticking out of the magma. "You've defeated me; you may proceed."

"I guess we won." said Lincoln.

"Was there ever any doubt?" asked Rusty, getting eyerolls from everyone.

"Let's just go before Flarerizamon changes his mind." said Stella.

"Yeah." said Zach. The group have successfully defeated Flarerizamon and has moved closer to their goal of reaching Taomon, and hopefully, returning home.
