Chapter 283: Book 10: Part 2 – Challenge
Kannal, Ace and the others had just finished saying their goodbyes to the two siblings, their metallic lifeform – which had taken the shape of a giant metallic pirate ship with the image of a giant Golden Sun as its flag – had just taken off when the eyes of Ace, Amira, Leona, and Killian simultaneously constricted into pinholes as they sensed several Godrealms sweep over them.
When they first began their journey in the Celestial Realm as pirates, they would sense several Godrealms sweep over them on a near daily basis. Whether it be your ordinary passerby or a group of bandits with malicious intentions, whenever they entered the range of another group, said group would scan them to check for powerhouses.
At the time, because information about Ace and the other's power had yet to spread, seeing a group of Full Gods travelling together made them look like an easy target for any group with at least one High God in their group.
It was these repeated ambushes that brought in a sizeable portion of wealth for the Golden Sun Pirates.
But as time went on, the Golden Sun Pirate's name began to spread far and wide, to the point where now, provided you weren't living under a rock, anyone with half a brain would steer clear of the group of freaks that were the Golden Sun Pirates.
As a result, it became exceedingly rare that Ace and his group would sense a Godrealm scanning them, and any that did were more than likely here for them and would be led by at least one Commander-level expert.
But just now, Ace and the other three – all of whom, for one reason or another, had souls who were at the level of a High God – sensed the Godrealm of not just one, but literally dozens of High God Godrealms locked on to them.
Without a moment of hesitation, Ace urged his metallic lifeform to reach top speeds and hurry in the opposite direction.
At the same time, he spread his [Observation Haki] infused Godrealm out, allowing him to get a clear sense of those that were coming for them this time, and as he did, his shock only worsened.
In the group, he could sense the power of not one but five Commander-level experts, leading a force of nearly 100 High Gods, the weakest of which appeared to be at the six-star Fate Seeker level. Still, there were two in particular in the group that stood out to him.
The first was a beady-eyed and arrogant yet undeniably handsome young man. What captured Ace's attention about him, though, was that although Ace could sense that he was the weakest of the five Commander experts chasing after them, like him and the rest of his crew, this youth was also only a Full God, and looking at the purity of his Darkness-type Divine Energy in his Divine Spark, Ace could sense that he had also begun fusing all six profound mysteries of the laws of darkness. In fact, he was only a single step away from becoming a paragon.
Purely in terms of comprehension, this was the first person Ace had ever met who had surpassed him whilst in the same realm.
Still, it was the second person that really concerned him. Like the young man previously mentioned, she was also but a single step away from the paragon level. But unlike Ace and the previously mentioned young man, she was a genuine High God.
Even by herself, Ace knew that unless they revealed all their trump cards, she'd singlehandedly be able to devastate their whole group.
Ace didn't recognise any of the others, but he recognised the terrifying woman chasing after them.
During their adventures, as part of the spoils from one of their many battles, Ace had picked up a scroll listing 11 experts. The scroll mentioned that there were hundreds, if not thousands, of Commander-level experts spread out across the Celestial Realm, but even amongst them, there were 11 supreme experts who were in a league of their own.
Two were suspected paragons; one was a High-God level Apex Divine Beast, which had the power and ability to face off against a genuine Paragon and still escape with its life. As for the rest, they were all supreme experts whose comprehension was but half a step from becoming paragons themselves.
And this woman – Druelle Boleyn – not only was she one of them, but she was also reported to be a highly valued emissary of one of the Sovereigns of Darkness, meaning she had access to Darkness Type Sovereign's Might, which was a perfect match for her own Darkness Divine Energy.
Realising the level of the threat they were facing, Ace didn't hesitate to escape as quickly as physically possible.
Unfortunately, they weren't able to make it very far before their pursuers managed to catch up and attempt to bombard their "Pirate Ship" with a flurry of overbearing techniques, forcing Ace and the others to dismount and attempt to counterattack as best they could.
Unfortunately, try as they might, they were completely and utterly suppressed, even with everyone using one drop of Sovereign's Might each.
Realising that the majority of their enemy's killing intent was focused on himself and Amira, Ace was considering taking Mira and splitting up.
Between the fact that it was them they were after and that they clearly were trying to avoid killing Killian – presumably because of the fact that they had already found out about him being a direct disciple of a sovereign – that was the only thing he could think of in their current situation, short of exploding with his full might and hopefully killing everyone present as quickly as possible before a sovereign noticed his ability to use Willpower as a Full God.
Just as he was about to give the command to split up, the young man who had defeated Kannal and Joel allowed him to capture Alissa, who had been forced to separate from Killian during the royal rumble, commanded everyone to stop.
Though Ace and the others had no idea who he was exactly, it was clear from how the High Gods they had brought with them all stopped on command that he held an extremely high position.
Ace and the others, on the other hand, were under no obligation to listen, but seeing the blade of the young man's short sword pressed against Alissa's neck, none of them dared to continue. Even Killian – whose eyes had turned crimson out of pure rage – stopped dead in his tracks as he glared furiously at the man who dared to hold his wife hostage.
Ignoring Killian's furious killing intent, the young man calmly introduced himself as Joleon Boleyn (son of Druelle Boleyn) – the apparent number one genius of the Celestial Realm.
He then went on to say that he had heard of the invincible nature of the Vis Clan's bloodline and how he had always found it to be a shame they were massacred before he got the chance to see if the rumours of their famous bloodline ability truly lived up to the hype.
His words understandably struck a nerve with Amira; thankfully, most people's attention was on Ace, so her reaction went completely under the radar to everyone but Ace himself.
Sensing his wife's reaction and seeing the vulnerable position of his good friend and sworn brother's wife, Ace's mood could be understood. Still, he forcibly kept his calm, understanding that his giving into his wrath would do no one any good.
Joleon grinned maliciously seeing Ace's reaction before carrying on by saying that he would give him a chance. He then explained that the only one who needed to die here today was him.
He was about to carry on when he heard the middle-aged man who had been holding Killian back this whole time whilst being careful not to hurt him too much softly clear his throat.
The man was Yizar, a powerful commander-level expert, only weaker than Druelle. He was also the leader of the small army brought to kill Ace and an extremely high-ranking member of the Fate Seekers Association.
His goal today was to avenge the losses of the Fate Seekers and put an end to the Golden Sun Pirates. Still, as much as he wanted to kill every member of the pirate crew, he knew he wasn't in a position to demand too much.
Joleon may only be a Full God, but due to his parents, he wasn't one that he could afford to offend, especially as one of his parents was here with him.
Still, if nothing else, they had to kill both Ace and Amira.
Seeing Yizar's reaction, Joleon immediately understood what Yizar was attempting to convey. Correcting himself, Joleon explained that both he and his wife would need to die here today.
He for being a descendant of the Vis Clan, and his wife for also aiding him when killing Lord Violet-Cloud, the act that originally pit them against the Fate Seekers in the first place; as for the rest of their group, he could allow them to leave with their lives, but that was on the sole condition that he defeated him in a one on one, meaning Ace would be forbidden from using the [Dual Battle Tactics].
Ace unhesitatingly agreed, but only if he released Alissa first, as it was obvious that they wouldn't be able to forcibly escape their encirclement.
