Grandson of the Holy Emperor is a Deadbeat

Chapter 9: ch. 9 King of Gluttony

Allen and the villagers had no time to react at all, he suddenly felt a jolt of pain radiating from his shoulders as the shouts of surprise from the viillagers grew faint the further into the cave he was dragged.

Despite the growing darkness, Allen could see the thing that had bitten him was a huge wolf! It had bit down onto his shoulder, its eyes glaring at him as the awful stench of a rotting meat and demonic energy filled Allens nostrils.

'Goddammit, a zombie wolf! [Goddess Gaia bless this fucking thing!]'

Screaming out an incorrect prayer, Allen pushed loads of his Divinity into the shovel he desperately clenched onto!

[You have granted a blessing.]

The blades of the shovel glowed softly as it now radiated an intense Divine light.

"Let me go rotting bitch!

Because he was being dragged and his left arm was being bitten, his attack couldn't muster up any physical damage but just touching the shovel to the wolf was enough to do damage!

The overwhelming smell of burnt meat now overpowered the rot as the entire wolf was bisected in half, the areas his shovel touched basically melted under his shovel. It was like a hot knife cutting though butter!

Both Allen and the wolf flew forward and crashed into the wall now that the hound didn't have its bottom half, however the zombie wolf still didn't let him go!

"You stubborn son of…!" Allen lifted the glowing shovel and stabbed it into the wolfs jaw, completely melting the wolfs bottom jaw off as it fell to the floor

He quickly lifted the shovel up and stabbed the undead wolf once again, finally ending the animals suffering.

"Holy f*cking shit this hurts!" Allen reached his trembling hand over to his bleeding shoulder.

He flinched in pain when his fingers touched the gouged-out flesh, crimson blood pouring out like a facet.

"Calm down Allen! Remember those priest books! G-goddess Gaia, grant your loyal child healing...K-knit my flesh anew and help me recover, amen!"

Allen immediately felt his Divinity drain as the wound on his shoulder began to itch.

Unlike the Abilities his class gave him that were instant and didnt need focus, this world Miracle system forced users to say specific incantations and control their energy in their bodies.

Miracles were forgiving in the incantations aspect but you had to have to channel your Energy in the specific pathway or else they wouldnt work. This was the case for Divinity, Mana, and even Demonic Energy.

Allen didn't have great control over his Divinity and was currently pouring way too much into this low level healing spell, wasting it.

This was the basic healing skill that most Priests possessed, it was only now Allen realized how much of an idiot he was to not stock up on holy water. The liquid not only had a minor healing property but also gave a small portion of Divinity back!

Normal Holy water is made by multiple low level priest chanting for a lengthy period of time while injecting Holy Mana into water, this holy water isn't very powerful and it loses affect over time making it something impossible to stock pile, but Allen was different!

With his large Divinity capacity he alone could make a batch of Holy water in just a minute, then his storage could put the water in stasis that prevented energy loss! He'd basically be able to store his excess Divinity for later!

'No use crying over it now, but when this is all over, I'm going to stock up for weeks!'

Allen felt the Divinity drain out of his body, and in turn, the wound healed at a visible rate. The demonic energy permeating the wound caused a negative reaction under the Divinity, but that only lasted for a short while before being healed.

Allen had to recast the prayer multiple times as his broken bones eventually realigned and new flesh grew to replace the old. He also figured he'd need to buckle down and learn a higher level heal spell.

"That freaking hurt."

The adverse reaction when healing wounds that were permeated with demonic energy will always be accompanied by horrible pain.

It was only after the wound was healed enough to be functional and not affect him that Allen breathe a sigh of relief.

'I can finish the healing later, I need to get out of this damn cave!'

Looking at both directions of the cave, cold sweats began pouring out of him as he had no idea which direction was the right one. Allen was too preoccupied trying to escape the wolfs jaws to pay attention to directions.

Stuck in a dilemma of which direction to flee, Allen heard noise getting closer and closer to him! The cold sweat slowly turned to terror as he had absolutely no vision in this dark cave!

"Goddess Gaia, hear my plight, grant your child, Holy light!" A ball of Divine Energy shot out of Allen's palms and hovered above his head, illuminating the cave.

"Gruaaghh!"

"Aarrghh!"

The light from Allen's spell cause the five undead that had walked towards him to be filled with annoyance, causing them to immediately charged forth!

These zombies were old, weak, and halfway to becoming skeletons after most of their flesh had rotted away. They were currently staggering and shuffling towards him, their jaws falling open as if they discovered a tasty treat in front of them.

"Goddess Gaia, is this punishment for my body's past transgressions! God damn it...." Lifting his still glowing shovel up, Allen faced the horde of zombies.

***

The whole cave was filled with a disgusting stench, rotting corpses and discarded bones were literally rolling around on the ground forcing Allen to be careful lest he slips on them

'That fight was super easy, they qere already falling to pieces before they even fought me... Atleast that clears up the confusion, since these zombies came from that direction, I just have to go the opposite direction to escape!'

Breathing heavily after defeating the small group of zombies, Allen began walking in the opposite direction to exit the cave, before suddenly stopping.

'I was targeted out of the entire group of villagers and was dragged in here, meaning im the target of the intelligent being controlling these undeads movement. So why would it send such a weak group of zombies after me... Unless it a trick!'

There could've been branching side pathways through the tunnel that they could use to bring in zombies from behind him, pushing him further away from the exit!

After a few seconds of deliberating, Allen, With an uneasy face, began walking in the direction of where the zombies came from in hopes of finding the exit!

'Is it an intelligent undead who's doing all of this, or a Necromancer... Intelligent undead have the memories of being alive, so they could've just gotten lucky to evolve but are still stupid, a Necromancer means they ar-'

An extremely foul smell entered Allen's nose as he turned around, immediately freezing in terror.

Just barely outside of his lights radius, a large behemoth of a being stood up on its hind legs, it's eyes shining a dark red even in the dark!

Getting down on four legs the damn thing was at least three meters tall, It had shaggy fur covering its thick hide, alongside large arms and a humongous torso. The creature that possessed hook-like claws now stood in full glory before Allen's eyes.

"…A goddamn zombie bear?[Appraisal]"

[Name: King of Gluttony

Age:....

Speciality: Biting, crushing, smashing,

+ Currently strengthened through Necromancy.]

'Not only is this a f*cking zombie bear, it's name makes it sound like some sort of field boss!'

"Damn it.. I'm going to die" all sorts of regrets passed through Allen.

The reason he easily accepted his fate as a Grave keep in the middle of nowhere was because he though it was much safer than being an imperial prince, a candidate to become the Holy Emperor. This Zombie bear made him rethink if it was actually safer in the imperial palace than the Land of Dead!

The bear took a step forward as Allen took a step backward, the Divine light that seemed to annoy the regular zombies had no affect on the bears vision.

'The caves too small to even summon the boulder, even if i could i doubt it would even hurt this thing!'

The bear walked forward as Allen slowly stepped back, too afraid of runnin in fear of it chasing. His mind was whirling in ideas of how to defeat this behemoth. Thats when he saw the bear flash a toothy smile, its once dull eyes now reflected with intelligence!

Allen noticed and knew that this bear was being directly controlled by something, it didnt act like a mindless undead and instead wanted to Terrify and torture Allen before mauling him to death!

'I have no direct attack abilities from my Enchanter profession, and i know basic miracles which are gonna be ineffective against this beast!' Thinking about his [Bottomless Storage], allen looked through all of his things and stopped as he saw the blanked he'd enchanted with Divinity.

That blanket would be useless against the bear but it gave him an idea and he immediately pulled out a second, much dirtier blanket. Despite being a banished prince had still loaded up his Monastery with a lot items a backwater monastery shouldn't have, its why his library was so full of high-class books on Paldin arts and miracles.

Thinking deeply on a soapy oil mixtured, Allen placed his hand on the old blanket that now flash with white light!

[Grease!]

Seeing the flash of light, the smile on the bears face faded and charged forward! Allen reacted quickly as he whipped hid hand forward and spread out the blanket just as the bear stepped on it!

Obtaining absolutely zero friction from the floor he stood on, the Undead bear slipped forward! Unfortunately it still carried it momentum and Allen wasnt quick enough, the near 2000lb bear back slammed into Allen going quick!

It felt like he was hit by a car, thankfully his multiple layers added some protection but he still found himself being slammed into the cave wall.

His head was ringing but he had to act quicky, quickly scrambling up Allen grabbed ahold of his still blessed Shovel and ran at the bear trying to get up!
