GRIMM: New Detective In Town

When I awoke the first thing that caught my eyes was that of an unfamiliar ceiling as I was confused I received a sharp pain in my head as a mass of memories flooding my brain, after what felt like hours which wasn't more than a few minutes it stopped.

" Damn that was all real, dying meeting R.O.B, hahah I cant believe I'm really in the Grimm world."

Going through my memories many things are the same as my previous life and some are different, like Taylor Swift is a thing, but no Maroon Five. 

I look at the clock it say 5:30 am and I realize I have to get around and head to work. But first I spend the next 20 minutes getting used to my new strength so I don't accidently break anything. So I head to take a quick shower and then make a quick breakfast, once I get dressed I put my service weapon on my hip and my back up weapon around my ankle which happens to be a custom colt 357, I grab my badge its attached to a chain that I hang around my neck. As I'm heading out I see it, my baby that I just received just a few days ago my custom 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 even though its only 2011 so I guess you could call it 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, its all blacked out she's a damn beauty. He even added police lights and sirens. 

I then get in and almost jizz in my pants once I started it and all I could think is damn this is powerful.

It takes me 30 mins to get to my new precinct so I get there around 6:40 my shift starts at 7. When I pull in almost every person there is gawking at my ride, I even see Hank who just got out his car with his jaw on the floor. 

I pulled up next to Hank parked then got out.

Hank: "Damn Jack is that you, what are you doing here, and when did you get this beauty," he asked jaw still hanging.

Me: "Yo Hank how it hanging? To answer you questions, yes its me, I was promoted to detective and got transferred here, and my buddy from my time in the military sent this baby to me as a thank you gift for saving his life, she's gorgeous isn't she," I say while laughing.

Hank: "Ha no kidding your joining us here Nicks gunna freak out, and yes she's a true beauty I'm jealous," he says his eyes not leaving my ride. 

Me: " Anyway Ima head in and figure out who my partner will be and meet Sergeant WU, see you around," I say while heading in.

10 minutes later I'm standing in front of Sergeant Wu.

Wu: "So you are the famous Jack Burkhardt I keep hearing about, anyway its a pleasure to meet you, unfortunately I have some good and bad news. Bad news first the detective you were going to be joining because his partner retired, unfortunately accidentally shot himself at his house while he was cleaning his weapon and though he didn't die he is suffering from brain damage and had to retire, and before you ask he is alright the doctors say he shot the area that deals with motor skills and they believe with some therapy he will recover but just not to the level of cop would need and possibly suffer from seizures so that's the bad news, the good news since your brother also happens to be a detective we are just going to have you work cases with him and Hank, so since you have already handed all the paperwork you needed to do that's all from me you can join Nick and Hank now and inform them though I already sent an email but doubt they checked, and welcome to the South Precinct," he says with a serious face.

Me: "Alright then thanks Sergeant Wu, pleasure to be here. I'm going to find Hank then until next time," I say before headed to find Hank.

It took me a few minutes after asking around before I learned Nick and Hank were headed out so I caught up the them by our cars.

Me:" Yo Nick, Hank wait up," I yell stopping them from getting in their ride.

Nick:" Hey little bro, Hank just told me you were transferred over here, thanks for letting me know," he says with a pout on his face.

Me:" Pouting really are you sure you are the older brother lol, anyway check your emails apparently I will be working with you guys," I say while laughing

Me: " So where we going."

Hank: " Right now we don't have any open cases so I'm taking Nick to some place, he's keeping it secret though," he says looking amused at our back and forth.

Me: " Alright cool I'll follow you guys unless you wanna ride with me," I say.

Nick starts to say they will drive until Hank quickly cuts him off and says "of course they will join me" while looking to the car parked next to theirs, Nick confused looks over once he sees my ride he says "oh its seems your still holding out on me, of course you are driving is that even a question"!

First I loaded my ride with all our supplies like medical supplies, a couple ARs then we headed out. On the ride we mostly talked about my ride. Then we reached a jewelry store Nick ran inside Hank and I got out and waited outside the car.

After around 15 minutes Nick leaves the store 

Nick: " Hank what are you doing?" he asks seeing Hank taking his photo 

Hank: " Testing out the new equipment, and getting a picture of you when you are still young and innocent," he says with a smirk.

Nick: " Well i am getting married once, not four times," he says smirking back.

Hank: " Oh you are a happily ever after guy," he says while they both hear a couple of ladies giggling.

 Hank and Nick: Hank looks at Nick sees him looking at the ladies," detective you just bought a ring what are you looking at," he says with a smile on his face, Nick-" that's not want I'm looking at."

Hank: " Oh come on don't ruin it for me."

Nick: "She wears Armani, makes low 6 figures, drives a BMW, and is falling for a senior partner at her law firm, nothing but trouble hank."

Me and Hank: " Why cant you just look at her ass like the rest of us."

Nick: "I can't," he says with a smile while he keeps looking at the blonde lady.

Me and Hank: " Come on Nick we got a call.

As Hank gets in the backseat Nick is still looking at the blonde I am standing at my door when Nick and I both catch her woge though only Nick looks shaken since its new to him.

We responded to the call on a hiking trail where it seems that a young lady was ripped into pieces the only clue atm is female running shoes a pair of pink Nikes, the rangers think its an animal but the only track we can find is a human bootprint, I call them both over because I found a pink iPod a bit off the crime scene.

Afterwards we head back to the precinct, Hank takes the iPod down for prints, Nick checks for known criminals around the area and a case from a month ago which is similar, I start going threw missing person reports to see if any match.

Sure enough I've been searching for about an hour when a new messing person report comes in, a young college female reports her roommate seems to be missing saying she went out for her morning run like normal but its been a couple of hours from when she always comes back.

I show it to Nick and tell him I'm going to go check it out, since none of his ideas is turning anything up he decides to come with me, on our way out we run into Hank and he tells us that forensics will probably take a day on the bootprint so we now know what boot to look for, we tell him about the missing person report and he comes with us.

It takes like 20 minutes to get there we question the young lady who filled the report and after she confirms that her roommate was wearing pink Nikes we confirmed who are victim was.

The rest of out shift came and went no other leads so when we were leaving for the day Nick asked me to come over dinner with a bit of a pout on his face, because he was planning to ask Juliet to marry him today at dinner but for some reason Juliet asked him to invite me for dinner.

I follow Nick to his house, we get there around 8:45pm. When we get out our cars Nick looks confused about a vehicle with a trailer attached parked in his yard, leaving it alone we walk in his house and its eerily quiet and only the kitchen light is on.

While we are walking to the kitchen Nick keeps calling out Juliet's name but no response, he seems to be getting nervous until we reach the kitchen and we see who is sitting in the kitchen.

Me and Nick: "Aunt Marie!!" we both say smiles on our face.

Nick: "When did you get here," he asks with confusion evident on his face.

Juliette: "Hey, she was here when I got home," she said while drying a dish with a towel.

Marie: " Sorry for the short notice," she says with an apologetic smile.

Juliette: " What you didn't know she was coming? When she asked me to have Jack invited over I figured it was a surprise for him," she asks in confusion. 

Marie: " I meant to call, sometimes I mean to do something and I assume I usually have," she says with a gentle smile.

Me: "Well how are you doing, is everything okay?" I respond with a gentle smile of my own. 

Marie: " Not as good as I use to be," she says with a pained smile

Juliette: " She was telling me some pretty funny stories from when you guys were little."

Me and Nick: " Dead frog in the microwave," we say then look at each other and chuckle.

Juliette: " Among others." she says smiling

Marie: she looks at us both and opens here arms, " come and give us a hug." As we are hugging here she leans in and whispers " we need to talk."

After dinner Nick, Marie, and Myself head outside to talk.

Nick: He looks at Marie as we are walking, " so how bad is it?"

Marie: "2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months nobody knows, but there are some many things I have to tell you both."

Me: " Well then why didn't you come here sooner?"

Marie: " I just couldn't." 

Nick: " Why?"

Marie: " Just listen to me, there are things you don't know, things about your family."

Nick: " Our family? You are our family."

Marie: She turns and looks us both in the eyes, " have either of you been seeing strange things? Things that you cant explain?"

Nick looks a bit shook at her question and looks down away from her knowing eyes, while I give her an apologetic smile.

Marie: While looking sad she says, " Oh, I knew it. This is all happening so much faster than I thought it would. When it happened to me it knocked me on my ass I could barely move for a week."

Nick: " What are you talking about?"

Marie: "Well if you want to know ask your brother, it seems he's not confused about what I'm talking about."

Me: " Hehe, yeah well I kind of learned about it a few years ago when I was in the service." I say while rubbing the back of my head with a sheepish smile on my face." One day on a mission in the Middle East, I almost died to this being, it was so damn fast that I couldn't keep up with it, while it seemed to be toying with me, it would hit me then disappear then hit and repeat, like it was playing with its food, then at one point I don't know what happened something changed in me, I could suddenly track its movements, then I sensed it coming up behind me, I then turned around and it seemed to recognized something about me it froze started trembling and called me a Grimm."

ME: "So it that moment of hesitation I got a good look at it looked sort of like a rabid dog that stands on two feet, later I learned it was something called a Hundjäger, anyway in that moment of hesitation I unloaded multiple mags into it then it died. As I made my way closer to it, it transformed from the dog like creature into that of a human. Long story short almost all of my teammates were a type of Wesen and they explained what I was. I don't know if you remember Nick, when I first got back to Portland I asked you if you had been seeing anything strange lately, you told me no so I dropped it there since I figured it skipped you and I didn't want to complicate your life and you might thought I was crazy."

Me: "So my teammates taught me a bunch about the Wesen world, then after that while we went to different countries across the globe I picked up random books or weapons, meet some other Grimm's who allowed me to copy their books etc."

Marie: " You fought a Hundjäger and survived I'm so proud of you Jack." She then turns to Nick, " Your brother and you are not going crazy, the misfortune of our family has passed to you both, I'm so sorry Nick I know you love Juliette , but you must end it and never see her again, its just to dangerous."

Nick: "What?"

Marie: Instead of answering him she glances past him and spots a familiar vehicle parked at the end of the street. "Oh, my God, he's here!"

Me and Nick: "Who," we say while looking around.

Marie: "Hulda," then she turns around and pulls a dagger out of her cane.

Then it happens Hulda appears and swings a scythe at Marie in which she ducks, then pushes him towards Nick, Nick tries to hit him, which Hulda dodges and hits Nick and throws him to the ground, I then run up a punch him in the face which staggers him long enough for Marie to come from behind to shank him in his back, Hulda then turns and back hands Marie to the ground, he then raises his scythe to cut Marie's head off, when Nick and I both shoot him once in the back.

He then turns around and raises the scythe one more time to come at Nick and I, when we both unload the rest of are magazine into Hulda's chest, then he falls down dead.

Nick and I watch Hulda turn from a Wesen back into a human.

I see Nick run over to Aunt Marie so I decide to call it in.

Me: I grab my phone and dial 9-1-1, " yes this is Detective Jack Burkhardt I would like to report and assault and shooting at 805 NE Prescott St." ...

Nick makes it over to Aunt Marie and turns her body over.

Marie: "Did you kill him," she askes while gasping for breath.

Nick: "Yes"

Marie: "I thought I lost him, they're after me," she then rips off her neckless and hands it to him, " Never lose this, guard it with your life, they will be looking for it."

At this point I hung up the phone and made my way to them.

Marie: She looks at both of us, " Nick, Jack, your parents didn't die in a car crash, they were killed," then she passes out.

Nick: Nick shocked said the only thing on his mind, "what?"

After awhile other cops showed up and turned the area into a crime scene, about 2 hours later Nick and I were allowed to leave so we went to the hospital to wait for Aunt Marie to wake.

While we were waiting making sure we were alone, I decided to tell Nick about most of what I knew about our family, Grimms, Wesen, etc.

We talked for about an hour before a nurse comes to inform us that Aunt Marie has woken up. We talked with her for about 10 minutes until the nurse came back and told us we had to leave.

After saying our goodbyes we made it to our cars, and Nick decided that it was to much at once so we can pick this back up tomorrow.

Nick and I said our goodbyes then we each went home.

Once I made it home, I took a shower, went down to my bunker and spent the next 3 hours doing research, then I went back up to go to sleep.

Just before falling asleep all I could think of is that tomorrow were about to hunt a Blutbad.
