After dealing with the last GINN, Mikazuki let out a soft sigh of relief.

It was then that he noticed the public communication channel was open. Just as he closed it, the "Iron Flower" symbol lit up on the screen.

Orga's voice rang out.

"Hey, Mikazuki, why did you take them all out?"

"Huh? Didn't you say to take them all out?"

"When did I say that?"

Mikazuki thought for a moment.

"...I think so."

"What 'I think so'? Geez, you're hopeless!"

Orga's tone was full of exasperation. Indeed, this guy's personality was exactly the same as before.

While the two conversed, Lacus and her three subordinates exited the military vehicle, looking up at the unknown mobile suit a few hundred meters away, which was holding its mace plunged into the ground with one hand.

The bespectacled soldier tapped on a laptop, his brows tightly furrowed as he spoke.

"Sister Hilda, ZAFT's data on Earth Alliance's G-series mobile suits has no record of that machine."

"None? You mean it's not an Earth Alliance machine?"

Hilda, the one-eyed female soldier, took the laptop and scrolled through the G-series mobile suit intelligence that ZAFT had obtained from the Earth Alliance.

Another man, whose features were rather stern, narrowed his eyes.

"From its appearance, it certainly seems to have no connection with the Earth Alliance... And its looks are different from ZAFT's GINN and Earth Alliance's G-series mobile suits. It's more like..."

"A wolf..."

Lacus picked up where the man left off, and her words were met with agreement from the other three. It was indeed a wolf, a... solitary Wolf King.

Just as they were about to investigate the mobile suit's origin, Barbatos's head turned, and its light green eye monitor looked at the four of them, making Hilda's heart skip a beat. She instinctively shielded Lacus behind her with her two subordinates.

Mikazuki piloted Barbatos to slowly walk towards them. A drop of cold sweat trickled down Hilda's forehead. Suddenly, a waft of fragrant air passed by; Lacus had actually stepped in front of them.

The three's expressions changed.

"Miss, please stay behind us..."

But Lacus's alertness differed from Hilda and her subordinates. She felt no hostility from the mobile suit before her. Perhaps this was related to something latent within her. She immediately raised her hand and said to the three,

"Wait, Hilda, he might not mean any harm."

"But..."

Hilda wanted to say something more, but seeing Lacus's resolute gaze, she reluctantly stopped, though her vigilance towards Barbatos deepened. At the slightest unusual movement, she would immediately rush forward to protect Lacus.

Barbatos and Lacus, one large and one small, walked towards each other. When they were about ten meters apart, both stopped simultaneously.

The mace plunged into the ground, kicking up dust. Lacus raised her delicate arm, lowering her head, pressing down her wildly flowing hair, and shielding her face below the forehead with her other hand, to prevent the wind and sand from assaulting her.

Soon, the strong wind subsided. Lacus looked up and met Barbatos's light green eyes.

Mikazuki in the cockpit met Lacus's gaze through Barbatos's eyes. Indeed, he saw a familiar shadow in her deep eyes.

Then he heard the girl cup her hands around her mouth and shout.

"Thank you for saving us! Can you come down for a moment?"

The "Iron Flower" symbol lit up, and Orga exclaimed.

"This girl is truly something! She dares to approach alone!

Mikazuki, don't say anything yet. I'll talk to her."

"Okay."

Mikazuki opened the public channel. Outside, Lacus lowered her hands, looking expectantly at the colossal machine before her.

Orga's voice came from Barbatos.

"Saving you was merely a small favor. If you wish to repay me, answer my questions: What part of Earth is this? Who are you? And what's the origin of those four mobile suits?"

Orga's questions stunned Lacus and Hilda behind her. The other party doesn't know about ZAFT?

The mobile suits were clearly ZAFT's GINNs! GINNs were ZAFT's standard mobile suits, developed to compensate for the power gap with the Earth Alliance. Anyone on Earth basically knew that GINNs were standard ZAFT military equipment!

But the most crucial thing for Lacus was that this voice was not the voice from the battle just now. The person speaking to her now should not be the same person.

Although Lacus was only 16 years old, her thoughts were far more mature than most adults. She flashed a beautiful smile at Barbatos and said,

"Um, before I answer your questions, could we perhaps meet? At the very least, allow me to see the face of my savior, Mysterious Pilot."

Orga was momentarily speechless. To be honest, he found these kinds of people the most difficult to deal with. It reminded him of Merrabilt and his elder brother.

Mikazuki seemed to imagine Orga's current frustration and chuckled mercilessly. He turned off the public communication and said with a laugh,

"What now?"

"What else can we do? Let's go down and meet her. By the way, Mikazuki, be careful. Those three seem to be soldiers; they won't be unskilled."

Mikazuki opened the storage compartment beside him. Inside were two pistols and a disorganized pile of bullets and magazines.

"Don't worry."

With that, he skillfully assembled a magazine and pistol, placing it behind his waist. He then pressed a button to open the cockpit door, and the seat ascended.

Lacus had been watching Barbatos, her eyes unblinking. After waiting for a minute or two, the mobile suit's blue chest finally moved.

Then, to her astonishment, she saw a boy who looked one or two years younger than her, of similar height, bare-chested, exit the cockpit. He quickly jumped down, stepping on the mobile suit's arm and leg, finally landing and standing before her.

...A child?
