Eiden was practically glowing as he sat in class. He had finally obtained a skill, and for once, the reality of the system hit him harder than ever before. Sure, he had always been aware of the system's existence, but this this felt real. A tangible skill, something with an actual effect. "Soothing Voice," the name alone made him grin every few seconds like a fool.

The entire lecture period was wasted on him simply staring at his status screen. He didn't pay attention to the lesson, didn't even register the professor's droning voice. And the moment the bell rang, Eiden shot out of his seat like a missile, not sparing anyone a glance. Meanwhile, in another class, Deuel exited and immediately spotted Eiden in the hallway. He waved and called out, trying to catch his attention. "Yo, Eiden!" he called out, subtly trying to prompt an invite to the party. It felt awkward showing up without one. But Eiden didn't turn. Didn't even flinch. Deuel blinked. "Huh?" Eiden had already disappeared around the corner.

"What the why is he in such a hurry?" Deuel muttered, puzzled. Then it hit him. "Wait. Is he preparing something for the party?" A moment of panic gripped him. "Oh shit."

But then a glimmer of hope flashed across his eyes. "Wait... Harry!"

Yes, his friend Harry's sister Crysty was Sasha's close friend. If he could get Harry to go with Crysty, he could tag along as the bored friend who just decided to come. Perfect.

Determined, Deuel made his way to Harry's class. Just as he reached the corridor, he spotted him. But before he could call out, his steps paused. Harry wasn't alone, standing beside him was John Cartro the tallest among their group of six guy friends. Around 6'2", he had a lean, well-proportioned build, pale yellow eyes, and reddish-orange hair that touched his neck. His face was decent nothing extraordinary but still enough to get attention, especially thanks to his height. John had something none of the other five in their group had ever managed: he'd actually been in a relationship. Just one, but it gave him bragging rights. Of course, it didn't last long. Turns out, being tall could get you into a relationship, but it couldn't keep you there. He was just as clueless with girls as the rest of them.

"Damn that height," Deuel muttered under his breath, annoyed. But then he noticed something else the serious expressions. What were they talking about? Don't tell me… He walked toward them and called out casually, "Hey, you two. What's up?"

Both of them lifted their heads in sync to acknowledge him. "What are you guys talking about?" he asked, narrowing his eyes. "Sasha's birthday party," Harry replied innocently.

"Damn," Deuel snapped his fingers. "We had the same idea." Turns out John had also planned to go to the party through Harry's sister. Just like Deuel, he too had a crush on Sasha and was hoping this would be his chance.

The two of them locked eyes. A long, silent, tension-filled moment passed between them like rival warriors about to duel. Eyes narrowing, metaphorical lasers shooting between them. Then… they both smiled. A mutual understanding.

Challenge accepted. They turned to Harry in sync and began subtly (or not-so-subtly) persuading him to let them tag along through Crysty. Harry, a little slow on the uptake, just shrugged. "Yeah, sure. Why not?" Victory.

Meanwhile, in a private karaoke booth, Eiden was battling a different kind of challenge.

He had rented the room for three hours to practice a song for Sasha's birthday. The first thirty minutes were spent looking for the perfect track something party-appropriate, but still with a personal, emotional touch. He finally found a song with soft verses and a single difficult high note. Confident, he gave it a try.

The result? "Disappointing," he sighed, frowning. "Wasn't Soothing Voice supposed to help me sing?!"

Ding!

System-chan's voice chimed in, "Yes, it helps you sound soothing, but it's not specifically designed for singing complex pieces. You still need actual vocal skills for difficult notes.

"…Great," Eiden muttered, only half-understanding but fully disappointed. He scrolled again, trying to find something more suited to the skill. Then he found it:

"It's Your Day" by Gehran Gourry, a well-known artist famous for his calming voice and heartwarming songs. "Perfect," Eiden whispered and queued it up.

As he began to sing, something felt different. His tone flowed gently, the melody glided through his throat, and though he didn't sound exactly like Gehran, the soothing quality of his voice elevated the performance. It wasn't perfection but it was enough to impress. Enough to move someone.

Satisfied, Eiden spent the next two hours memorizing the lyrics. But anxiety soon crept in. Sometimes he nailed it. Sometimes he fumbled. Off-beat here, a forgotten lyric there. His nerves buzzed."Damn! Not enough time!"

Ding!

System-chan's voice came again, now sounding smug, "You know I could just display the lyrics on screen while you sing, right?"

Eiden froze mid-panic. "…What."

"You never asked," she said innocently.

He clutched his forehead, groaning. "You've GOT to be kidding me. I've been busting my ass singing for two straight hours "

"You never asked," she repeated with a cheeky tone. "…Forget it," Eiden sighed. "At least the practice will help if I mess up even while reading the lyrics." Reassuring himself, he left the booth and headed home.

It was 9:30 PM when he returned. Eiden had dressed up nicely for the party, standing in the living room and waiting for his mom. When she finally stepped out, she gave him a warm, beaming smile. "Ohh my baby boy, you look so handsome tonight. You might steal the hearts of Sasha's friends."Eiden rolled his eyes, chuckling. "Mom, it's just a party. Not a mixer." "I'm just saying it's possible, honey."

"Sure, sure." Then he glanced at her outfit and raised a brow. "Leaving me aside, you might make Dad jealous with all the guys looking at you."

"Oh my! Since when did my baby become such a smooth talker?" she teased. She wore a deep red one-piece dress, hair pinned up elegantly. She looked like an ex-actress stepping out for a premiere. And in truth, she could've been one her beauty still shimmered in her graceful demeanor. "Shall we?" Eiden gestured toward the door.

"We shall," she said with a proud smile.

Sasha's house or rather, mansion stood just 6 to 8 minutes away. More of an estate than a typical home, it was a clear reflection of her family's wealth. At the gate, the familiar gatekeeper greeted them before they could even show an invitation.

"Good evening, Mr. Eiden. Mrs. Mores."

"Good evening to you too, Mr. Gaint," they replied warmly. Mr. Gaint had been the family's gatekeeper for over 20 years and had seen Eiden grow up. Their families had a close bond; Sasha's mom and Eiden's mom had been classmates and childhood friends explaining how the two kids had become childhood friends themselves.

At the door, they were welcomed by none other than Mrs. Selena Delores Sasha's mother. She was breathtaking. Dressed in a regal purple dress, adorned with just enough jewelry to exude luxury, she carried the mature allure of a retired actress which she was. Her dark pink hair and striking eyes made her presence impossible to ignore.

"Good evening, Mrs. Delores. Thank you for having us," Eiden greeted politely. "Oh my, don't talk like a stranger, Eiden. You'll make me sad," she teased with a smile. Eiden chuckled and stepped in.

The mothers began catching up, chatting about vacations and old times. Apparently, Mrs. Delores had been the one Eiden's mom had gone on holiday with recently. Mr. Franklin Delores, Sasha's father, was away on another business trip unsurprising, considering he was a powerful businessman with investments across multiple cities. Eiden left them to their conversation and walked into the party hall. His eyes scanned the crowd.

He spotted Deuel, Harry, and John.

Figures. He smirked. They must've guilt-tripped or tricked Harry into dragging them here through Crysty's connection, Classic. But then, something else caught his eye. At the top of the stairs, a group of girls was chatting and laughing. Among them stood Sasha stunning in a soft, cute pink dress that hugged her frame just right, giving her a slightly sexy but elegant appearance. Her hair, makeup, and poise screamed 'star of the night.' She truly had inherited her mother's charm.

Beside her stood her friends, including Crysty.

But one face made Eiden curious. Behind them… a girl with glasses. Soft eyes. Sharp features, she looked Familiar. His eyes narrowed, trying to get a clearer look. Then they widened in shock. She noticed him too.Her gaze locked onto his,Eiden whispered aloud in disbelief. " Lyra"?!
