Harry Potter: BE a GOD

Chapter 430: Chapter 431: The Underground Shelter

Meeting Room.

More than a dozen members of the Countermeasure Bureau surrounded William, but none felt the excitement of having finally caught the enemy leader; instead, there was tension and a hint of fear.

God!

Whether it was the continuously flashing "psychic attack" in the system alerts, the piercing deep purple of the magic detection results, or the halo behind the opponent's head, everything pointed to one fact.

And in all the magical disaster events encountered by the Countermeasure Bureau, the death rate of divine events almost always reached over 95%. Judging by this figure's appearance and the cultural context, this one might be the most terrifying and powerful deity of all.

William remained calm and collected. Suddenly, he raised his head, "Since you've come, why not show yourself."

With his words, the space seemed to expand, stretching the distance between all objects by a hundredfold. The once impenetrable circle formed by the Countermeasure Bureau members suddenly became so sparse that dozens of trains could run side by side through it.

Simultaneously, a force divided the soldiers into two groups, pulling each to opposite sides. The ground seemed to endlessly expand, creating a wide path that pushed tables and chairs to the sides, extending to the door on the opposite side.

The door abruptly opened.

But before anything could emerge, a cold huff came from the opposite side.

Immediately after, the expanded space snapped back, everything returning to its original place as if nothing had happened.

"Everyone, go back," a young, deep male voice suddenly came from behind the door.

Everyone was instantly pulled by a force and vanished.

Only William was left in the meeting room.

"Was that move you just pulled the same one Moses used to part the Red Sea?"

Following that voice, a metallic mechanical foot stepped into the room, and a figure shining with metallic luster slowly walked in. With each step, its body became more refined.

The originally crude steel pipe arms suddenly grew carbon fiber muscles, the lines buried into the body becoming nerves. The massive backpack-like device on its back gradually shrank, with titanium alloy ribs growing on its exterior. The head, originally a giant camera, continuously transformed, the camera shrinking and moving to one side as another camera grew, the injection-molded shell becoming a skull. Even strands of fiber, looking like hair and accompanied by lightning, materialized.

In just a few seconds, what was a lump of iron turned into a bionic mechanical being made of carburized steel.

The mechanical being, over two meters tall and resembling a giant, looked down at William. The two camera eyes moved slightly, focusing on him, "You wanted to talk?"

"Marvelous, I've never seen the magic you used just now..." William marveled, "You are indeed a very interesting human, Murphy. But coming in this puppet's body, are you afraid I might attack your real body?"

"Heh." The mechanical giant's mouth moved, and although the voice was still Murphy's, it had a metallic resonance, "You flatter yourself too much. You're just an avatar here, how could my true body meet with you?"

Saying so, a steel chair materialized in front of the giant, and it sat down, "Speak now, for soon you'll have nothing left to bargain with."

William smiled, "Why be our enemy, Murphy?"

"I have sources, hearing you once aspired to be a god?" he said, extending a hand where an immeasurable light converged, forming a scepter, embodying supreme authority, as if holding it would grant dominion over the world's fate.

"You are the wisest human I've encountered, your magic vast and boundless, not even true gods stand a chance against you."

"But we need not be enemies; this world with its billions of people can support two supreme deities."

"This is the Key of Faith. Take it, and you'll be one of the Trinity, sharing supreme authority. You'll be omniscient, omnipotent."

"Your quest to unify humanity and study magic seeks knowledge, and that knowledge is also within."

The giant observed the shining scepter, its various magical energies representing the ultimate colors of mind and spirit merging, embodying all concepts, ideals, emotions. This was the aggregate of divinity, covering domains of all deities like war, love, death, birth, agriculture, and more.

"So, you've devoured those ancient gods?" the giant asked.

"Their thoughts still flicker in my divine mind, their divine powers and authorities remain within my divine power. They haven't died; they are with me."

"And you," William continued, "are different. You're worthy to stand beside me, above them. Your soul is unique. I'll grant you the authority of the Son, sharing the Holy Spirit with me, undifferentiated in divine power and authority."

"Why not I be the Father, and you the Son?" the giant chuckled.

William's smile persisted, but his expression cooled, "Murphy, no one has ever been so favored by a god. Know this, my followers span the globe, they are my sustenance, my extensions. You might win momentarily, but as long as humanity and faith persist, opposing me, you only face ruin."

"Faith never dies?" Murphy scoffed, "Perhaps, but not necessarily in gods."

"Human nature leans towards laziness, sloth being their foremost sin. Always desiring gains without effort, their insatiable desires are human flaws. It's where we, the divine, reside."

"Ancient gods tempted with protection, blessings, scared with warfare, sins, instilling awe, compelling worship. But ultimately, it's just a transaction; once unprofitable, gods are discarded."

"Yet human spirits are more neglectful; by nature, they go with the flow, living day by day. True awakening is as painful as emerging from a cocoon, hence few awaken, living mundane lives."

"I offer faith without blessings or calamities, not promising victory or managing affairs. I only comfort hearts. I tell the lazy there's no need for the pain of emergence. I am the ultimate, the truth. I am love, hope, the afterlife, meaning, everything! To believe in me is to awaken, to be liberated, to ascend, to be immortal!"

"The endpoint is in sight, victory within grasp. Who could refuse such easily won triumph?"

"As long as humans remain, I am eternal, undying, through millennia, forever unchanged."

The giant stared at him, "Now you see why I must oppose you."

William frowned, falling silent.

"Meaning, life, truth, ultimate goals - only through struggles, pain, and denial can they be attained."

"A butterfly helped from its cocoon never truly flies, for it's the struggle that strengthens it."

"The outcome matters not; the journey is everything."

"Even if you could instantly teach a caveman the unified field theory, what use would it be?"

"We've long known the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything. But it's the long list of questions before that we seek."

"And you've destroyed that process."

"Moreover, the outcome, the answers you provide, are nothing but a deceitful bubble."

"You and your so-called gods are but parasites feasting on human flaws, soothing the host with venom."

"Such maggots dare claim divinity, omniscience, omnipotence?"

"Our paths are ir

revocably divergent."

"You and your kind, I shall eradicate!"
