Chapter 10: CH.10
"Get ready." Harry told her, she leaned her head up and opened her jaw. Harry dropped the spider right into her mouth which snapped shut like a venus flytrap. "How does it taste?"
"Yummy!" She cried happily. "Do you want to try one daddy?"
"I'm on a diet." Harry said without missing a beat before he levitated another spider up into the air. This time he dropped it in front of her, she quickly reached down and swallowed it. The third time Harry dropped a spider a short distance away, it ran but she quickly gave chase and caught it within a few seconds. "That's my girl!" Harry clapped proudly. "Well done Selena! That was brilliant, I'm proud of you!"
"Thank you daddy!" She said as her face changed into what Harry guessed was a smile.
"Ah hello Harry," Rita Skeeter said a few days later as Harry entered, she stood up from her seat and extended her hand. The two were currently in a private room in the three broomsticks so they wouldn't be disturbed or overheard.
"Miss Skeeter," Harry said as he took her hand and kissed her on the knuckles. "a pleasure to see you." He smiled at her.
"Oh, a charmer." She smiled back and the two took their seats with Harry sitting opposite Rita.
"Only to the charming." Harry replied as he looked at her. Instead of green like last time today she was wearing black high heels, a brown leather skirt and jacket. Harry would admit that she looked quite attractive.
"I take it you read my last article." She said in a conversational tone. Her last article was really held back in her opinion, but she had to make it good if he wanted this interview. She had made sure that it was factual for the most part, of course she did mention how the tournament officials were unable to keep a fourteen year old boy out of the tournament but she did make it appear like it was not Harry Potter's fault. Of course that could change with an article. "Did you like it?"
"I would not be here if I didn't Miss Skeeter," Harry replied. "Shall we get on with this?" Harry suggested.
"Of course, you don't mind if I use a quick quote quill do you?" She asked as she reached into her handbag.
"Actually I do," Harry said, causing her to stop. "Miss Skeeter I have not treated you like a fool so do not treat me like an ignorant child. I've done my research on you and I know that you have a rather...interesting...habit of ruining careers and lives with your articles."
"Come now Harry," She said as she removed her hand from the handbag. "this is merely business, it's my job to give the public what they want to see and what they want is something interesting."
"I agree," Harry nodded, surprising her. "in fact I understand because I've spent years doing the exact same thing."
"What?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm the boy-who-lived, people expected me to act a certain way. They expect a mild mannered, heroic saint and I have the spent the last few years pretending to be exactly that. I hid my true nature because it's not what the public wanted but now things have changed. I no longer care what other people want, now I'm in this life for me and me alone. I'd recommend not getting in the way.
"Is that a threat Harry?" Rita smirked. "How would the public feel about the 'boy-who-lived', 'saviour of the wizarding world' handing out threats like a dark wizard?"
"I quite frankly don't give a shit what the sheep of the wizarding world think." Harry said honestly.
"Ooh, can I quote you on that?" She asked, even though she was planning to do that anyway.
"Feel free, when you do so remember to tell them that Harry Potter says 'fuck off'." Harry said with a sweet smile.
"Aren't you concerned Harry?" She asked in an equally sweet voice. "This could ruin you. You realise that those words of yours can be printed and sent out tonight."
"No, they won't because you will not print them."
"Oh, will I not?" She asked, her face and voice making it clear that she fully intended to.
"No, you won't." Harry said in firm voice. "Now I'm giving you one warning Skeeter, just the one, if you go against me or even irritate me then I promise you will suffer. This is your last chance, I advise you take it."
"Is that so? Well bring it on then." She said, not bothered in the slightest by his words. She was the reporter that ruined politicians, what would one boy do to her?
"You know...I was sort of hoping you'd say that." Harry grinned. "Lumos Maxima!" Harry yelled as his wand slid from his sleeve into his hand, he didn't have a holster yet so had been very careful while keeping it there. A blinding light shot out from his wand, causing Rita to look away and allowed Harry to take advantage. "Incarcerous!" Harry said as he pointed his wand at her and ropes shot out which wrapped around her so she could not move.
"What are you doing?!" She demanded.
"You see that's the problem when you rely solely on a quill, you forget to use a wand." Harry grinned as he got up and walked towards her. He began searching her body for a wand, he frowned when he couldn't find one, he then looked into her handbag. "Really? You left your wand in your handbag?" Harry tutted disapprovingly before he threw the handbag with the wand inside to the farthest side of the room before he sat back down.
