Harry Potter The Serpent’s Turn

"I have more than one trick up my sleeve Potter." She smirked before she transformed into her beetle form only to change back into her human form before she could even start flying, the ropes wrapped around her once again. She looked towards Harry who was twirling his wand in his hand.

"You're not the first animagus I've ever met Rita." Harry said calmly, after his meeting with Pettigrew he had made sure to learn the spell to turn animagus's back into their human form on the off chance that he stumbles upon a suspicious looking rat in the future. "Tell me, you're not registered are you? The list of registered animagus's are short and you're not on there."

"What are you planning to do Potter?!" Rita sneered at him. "If you think I'm scared of you then you've got another thing coming, I don't..."

"Skeeter," Harry cut her off. "if you don't shut up then I am either going to shut you up with a punch to the face, shoving my tongue down your throat, a silencing charm or all of the above." Harry said. "Dobby." Harry called and the elf came as expected.

"What is that?!" Rita shrieked in fear.

"It's called a house elf." Harry explained patiently in a calm voice.

"Not that! The snake in its hands!" She screamed.

"Ah," Harry said in a surprised voice as he looked at Dobby and pretended to only just notice Selena in his hands. "that would be Selena."

"Selena?!"

"Yes, Selena, she's a basilisk." Harry said as he took Selena out of Dobby's hands, Selena had her eyes closed because Harry wanted to pretend that the death stare was an uncontrolled method of killing.

"A basilisk?!" Rita paled in fear.

"Yes, magically resistant skin, most dangerous venom in the world and the ability to kill with a single look." Harry said as he stroked her. "Quite the deadly creature, wouldn't you agree Miss Skeeter?" Harry said as if he was discussing the weather.

"I...I bet it's not even a real basilisk." She said with fake confidence.

"How about proof?" Harry responded, unfazed by her response. Harry covered Selena's left eye with his hand, he then aimed her right eye away from Rita and towards Dobby. Harry hissed and a few seconds later Dobby fell on to the floor, his body unmoving. "Is that proof enough?" Harry raised an eyebrow to Rita who was so frozen with fear that Harry might as well just remove the ropes.

"You...it's your basilisk...but..."

"Miss Skeeter we both know I'm a parsletounge," Harry cut her off with a bored expression on his face. "I should know because nearly the whole school tormented me when they found out and you should know because I remember you writing an article about it in my second year."

"You...you can't kill me!"

"Actually I can but it's not me that necessarily has to." Harry said as he gestured with his head to Selena. "All it would take is a single bite or even just the opening of one eye."

"But...but you'd go to Azkaban!" She reminded him.

"Would I?" Harry grinned. "If Lucius Malfoy could get away with the imperius curse then what makes you think I can't escape Azkaban? Malfoy's just rich. Me? I'm rich, the boy-who-lived and Dumbledore will not want me out of his sight. Plus I can't imagine the minister of magic would refuse the opportunity of having the 'boy-who-lived' be grateful enough to thank him publicly. So Miss Skeeter, what were you saying?"

"Please! Please don't kill me! Why are you doing this?!"

"Simple, because of people like you. I spent the last few years letting people like you step over me and spit on me after, no more." Harry said with a smirk. Harry hissed to Selena before he tossed her at Rita, she landed on Rita's shoulder.

"NO!" Rita screamed in fear and terror. "Please stop! I'll do anything!" She screamed when she saw the young snake open its and mouth, revealing it's small but sharp teeth. Harry hissed and Selena slowly closed her mouth but remained on her shoulders.

"Anything?" Harry repeated with a raised eyebrow.

"Anything!" She nodded quickly. Harry looked thoughtful before he took his wand and got rid of the ropes.

"If you try to attack me then she'll kill you, and remember that she's fast and if you try to attack her she'll kill you before you can do anything significant." Harry said. "And if you're thinking about transforming back into the beetle form of yours then I'd like to remind you that she has spent some time practising catching smaller animals. Now stand up and come here." Harry ordered.
