Harry Potter: The Wizard of Apocalypse

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Packaging the Library

Ian was located not far from the library.

It took him less than half an hour to fly in a straight line, and he successfully arrived at the square outside the library.

At this time, he did not choose to land immediately but flew around the library twice to ensure there would not be too many parasites here, so as not to let himself be surrounded.

While continuing to fly at a low altitude, he carefully checked the surrounding environment. The wand in his hand also shot various spells from time to time. After carefully cleaning and ensuring safety, Ian got off the broom.

...

What came into view was a library with a futuristic architectural style. According to the introduction on the map, the original designer even won an award for this design drawing.

The library was a hexagonal, light blue, towering building that looked like a honeycomb. At this moment, it stood quietly in the center of the square.

The most eye-catching feature was the staircase leading to the main entrance of the library. The ingenious designer had shaped it into a wave. The milky white stairs spread out layer by layer. Walking up the steps was like walking on the waves. People seemed to be walking on the waves and entering this palace of knowledge.

When Ian walked into the hall, he felt lucky because there was not much damage here. Perhaps because it had been idle for too long, all the furnishings in the hall were covered with dust, looking a little desolate and dilapidated.

However, with the rows of bookshelves and the mountains of books of all kinds, this place seemed to have become a site forgotten by time. The combination of quietness, desolation, books, knowledge, and other elements made Ian feel a special atmosphere while he was here.

Thanks to the library's unique hexagonal architectural style, it was naturally divided into six major areas.

Ian walked to the huge signboard and accurately found the area where humanities and arts, novels, and biographies were located. Without hesitation, he walked directly to the target area.

Although the sign showed only a very small area, when Ian arrived there, he discovered that there were at least several thousand books on humanities and arts alone, not to mention the many more novels and biographies nearby.

He carefully explored the surroundings and took a quick look at the books on the bookshelf.

At this moment, Ian finally confirmed his guess: this was indeed another parallel world where the humanities and history were different from the magical world.

The next steps were much simpler. With the help of magic, a huge number of books poured into the infinitely extending backpack like a flood.

Fortunately, the space in the backpack was large enough. Even so, a small half of the space was occupied by these books, almost filling up an area the size of a basketball court.

Ian also followed the principle that since he was here, the more the better, collecting many records, comics, and other items that were both interesting and could help pass the time. Of course, he also did not forget to bring a full bookshelf of gardening management books for Irene.

This trip took almost half a day, not because the workload was too heavy, but mainly because he spent too much time searching and wandering around.

Perhaps the Sorting Hat was truly accurate, because Ian didn't care much about other things, including gold Galleons, and always remained indifferent—enough was enough, and he wouldn't be too greedy or obsessed.

But he seemed to have an obsession with books. Once he saw them, he couldn't leave and wanted to possess them. In this respect, he was like a true Ravenclaw.

Even though he couldn't use them for the time being, he just wanted to save them up. Ian had felt this urge before, in the Hogwarts Library and even in Flourish and Blotts.

After finishing all this, Ian took out an exquisite mechanical pocket watch and checked the time. It was 4:30 p.m. The time was not too early, and he had nothing to do when he returned, so he simply continued to walk around other areas to see if he could find anything else useful.

Near dusk, Ian left the city library with a sense of lingering desire and rode his broom back to his base. During the trip, no dramatic accidents happened, and everything remained peaceful.

Irene was not busy in the vegetable garden, and there was no sign of her around. I wondered what she was doing.

After a smooth landing, Ian returned to his room first because he needed to sort out the books in his backpack. Those that could be used at the moment and some that needed to be given to Irene had to be sorted out and taken out.

"Cough, cough..." As soon as Ian opened the door of the villa, before he could react, he was choked by the thick smoke mixed with various strange smells and couldn't open his eyes.

"Ventus!"

"Scourgify!"

"Protego!"

Ian almost subconsciously cast three spells in a row, then ran straight to the place where the accident had happened—the kitchen.

'All gone.' Ian may not have understood this phrase at first, but today, he finally understood it. Looking at the messy kitchen and Irene's innocent expression, he suddenly felt so tired...

"Reparo!"

The Restoration Charm, combined with Ian's powerful magic, instantly restored everything in the kitchen to the state it was in when he left.

Ian looked at Irene, whose body was covered in oil stains and whose face was full of colors. He felt angry and amused at the same time.

Mainly because of what she did today, Ian was really afraid that one day when he wasn't at home, the other party would set the house on fire. It didn't matter if things were burned, but he was afraid she would burn herself.

As mentioned before, Irene had long been accustomed to Ian, but hadn't Ian also long been accustomed to Irene? In this terrible world, how lucky they were to have each other...

If something ever happened to Irene one day, Ian felt that he might be able to open his heart, then set the city on fire and burn everything he could see to the ground.
